About this property

The listed building dates from 1677 and was once used as a farrier. Before the bypass was built, it was an important traffic route. Pilgrims, travelers on horseback or in carriages passed it, and some stopped in the neighboring inn, changed horses or had the blacksmith shod them. The house, which was in danger of collapsing, was restored by the current owner and is used by him as a holiday home.

Eine alte Schmiede, sehr schön restauriert

Es war bereits unser zweiter Aufenthalt in dem Haus und alles war bestens. Schöne Auenlandschaft mit Störchen und gut gelegen zwischen Kulmbach und Bayreuth, in 15 Minuten erreichbar. Das Haus ist wunderschön für etwas größere Menschen, wegen Treppe und Stufen (historische Schmiede) für Kleinkinder weniger geeignet. Fazit: sehr empfehlenswert. Detlef Friedrich

Gemütliche und sehr gepflegte Unterkunft

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt in der alte Schmiede. Das Haus wurde mit viel Geschmack renoviert, ist geräumig und bittet alles, was man so benötigt. Die Küche ist ordentlich ausgestattet. Die ganze Unterkunft ist top sauber. In der Nähe konnten wir schöne Spaziergänge und Wanderungen unternehmen. Zu empfehlen sind der Rot-Main-Auen-Rundgang, der in Altdrossenfeld durchkommt und der Rundgang Waldhütte-Teufelsloch (https://www.fraenkische-schweiz.com/detail/id=5f13fe07d5e6be051d0a84d3). Sie haben auch unseren 10-jährigen Sohn begeistert.

Tolles verlängertes Wochenende!

Wir waren begeistert von der Mischung aus Alt und Neu! Wir haben uns in der alten Schmiede sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Nähe zu Bayreuth war in Bezug auf Unternehmungen sowie Restaurants hervorragend. Kommen gerne wieder.
