Quiet and relaxed in the country!

  • 5 of 5

We planned a spontaneous trip and forgot half of the things we needed, but Loren and Denise had everything there! This was the perfect spot for quite and relaxation and it was great that we could bring the dog with us as there was plenty of room for him to spread out. All of us enjoyed the Amish horse and buggies going by. With such nice weather, it was nice to enjoy a hike through your well maintained property, grill out and go for a nearby hike. The morning after our arrival as we set out to explore, we even realized that we were only about 10 minutes away from my grandparents family farm. Sold several years ago, I have only been in the area a couple times as an adult and don't know it well enough to even realize I was that close especially since we were coming from a different direction. But it was neat to swing by and show my boyfriend who had never seen it. All in all, we were well relaxed and had a wonderful weekend! Thank you for everything -- we will be back!

Beautiful, Peaceful Property

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Hill Country Haven. The house was clean and cozy, and we loved the cabin feel of the bedroom. Also, the AC worked really well considering it was in the 90s during our stay. The property was beautiful and we really enjoyed walking the mowed trails. Our dog loved all the space to run around. It was also nice to really disconnect from the outside world since there's no WiFi or cell service. (Make sure you plan ahead and know how to get to wherever you're headed as we couldn't get GPS until we were closer to town.) We checked out the drive in and brewery in town and both were excellent. We also highly recommend Wildcat Mountain State Park and Kickapoo Valley Reserve. Both are beautiful and have some great hiking. The Amish are very friendly, and it was really neat to be out of Chicago and listen to the horses going by throughout our stay. In summary, this is a great property to get away from it all without having to sacrifice the comforts of home (the satellite TV worked really well).

Beautiful, quaint farmhouse.

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed spending our anniversary weekend at this cute, cozy farmhouse. Very clean, well furnished rental. Although the weather did not cooperate for us to hike the trails on the property, we were able to get a fire going one night and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and amazing view of the stars. If you're looking for a relaxing place to unwind, this is the place to be. Easy to access and not far from areas that you can adventure, such as wineries, orchards, state parks etc. Thanks Loren and Denise for sharing your amazing place for us to enjoy our 23rd anniversary. Definitely would love to book again!!!!!

Clip Clop, Clip Clop

What an amazing place to stay. The sound of the horse and buggies going by instead of constant traffic at home was so relaxing. The house and property were wonderful, especially the master bedroom. The fact that everything was included, just bring your food, blew us away. The drift-less region in that part of the state offers such endless opportunities to explore. Went to Wildcat Mountain State Park and the ride from Hillsborrow to Ontario on hwy. 33 was breathtaking. So to say the least, the Erickson Century Farm House is on our list of favorite places to stay and we will be back. The fact that it is pet friendly is also a huge plus. Thank You Loren and Denise for the great Home Away experience. Randy & Carol Van Hoof - Galaxy "woof woof" too....

Hill Country Haven is the perfect place for a quiet getaway! We enjoyed sitting on the deck, walking in the timber and not being able to get the internet.

Excellent, clean, quiet countryside location.

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here with our Black Lab. Love the setting and central location to many state parks, Amish country etc. Well equipped for cooking all meals on location yet close enough to town you can conveniently go out for the local flavor. Trails and generous property were perfect for morning and evening walks or letting our dog explore on his own.
