About the property

Lodge, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 9-11)

Our lodge is secluded yet conveniently located two miles from the town of Ruidoso. You will drive through the beautiful Lincoln National Forest and the recreation area to arrive at the lodge. We are a short walk away from Cedar Creek and the Lincoln National Forest recreation area where you will find hiking and biking trails, picnic tables with barbecue grills, and covered pavilions. Our lodge is located in a quiet area where you can kick back and relax on a private deck with a hot tub.

After walking up the front deck you'll find the hot tub nestled in between the walls of the home, providing great privacy as you gaze into the beauty of the forest. From the entrance of the home, the kitchen and main living and dining areas are located to the right in the A-frame portion of the cabin. This also houses a full bathroom right off of the living room and dining area. There is plenty of comfortable seating in the living room with a fireplace to cozy up next to. Taking the stairs to the loft brings you to an open room with a full bed that looks down into the living room. On the back side of that room is a private bedroom with another full bed that has a small walkout second story deck for a great view into the forest and hillside.

A king size bed awaits you in the bedroom near the main entrance of the home, with a half bathroom attached and personal exits to the back deck. This bedroom also has a day bed tucked into the corner that's great for children wanting to be close to their parents. Down the hall to the left from the front door leads you to the huge master bedroom, furnished with a desk, TV, recliner and a walk-in closet. Attached is the master bathroom with a jetted spa tub and separate shower. The washer and dryer are also located in this spacious bathroom in a utility closet.

We hope you will choose to stay at our lovely home. Please check the calendar for availability as well as look at our rates page for specific descriptions on nightly minimums, seasonal rates, and holidays.

Cedar Creek Lodge - Secluded in the Lincoln National Forest
average rating of 4.375 based on 48 reviews

i was satisfied with the home, it's size and location, but disappointed in it's cleanliness.

  • 2 of 5

The biggest turnoff was the Very high cleaning/maintenance fee.

Dead insects in both tubs, on floors, and especially on bedspreads on beds upstairs in loft.

I didn't find living insects, and that was a good thing!

To pay such a high amount for Admin. fees, and cleaning, and an additional service fee for only a 3 day stay seems too high. This was definitely a learning experience!

The Great Outdoors... Beautiful view , Great location

  • 4 of 5

Great experience, great location, used the hot tub after a full day of skiing/snow boarding, used the BBQ grill that was located on the back side of the house... used the fire place ... beautiful view was able to see deer on the property... house was comfortable.... a couple of things that need attention was the restroom need deep cleaning (toilet especially) and one of the dining room chairs is wobbly... but over all experience was great

Sundown TX

Very expensive and dirty.

  • 2 of 5

My husband and I chose the Cedar Creek Lodge for our anniversary get away. We did not want to stay in town and thought the National Forrest location would be ideal for quiet relaxation and possibly seeing wildlife. The house was quaint and rustic yet had modern conveniences. However, the dishwasher didn't work so every single dish was caked with sticky yuck that could not be scrubbed off. Not how I wanted to spend my very expensive vacation. There was laundry left all over the bathroom in the washer and dryer. The old rug in the entry tripped me and my husband several times because it was curled up on the corner . OK if the owners don't want to replace the trip hazard simply turn it around. The back porch was filthy with dirt, bugs and cigarette butts. A simple sweep wouldn't have taken long. The hot tub smelled funky and was cloudy so we were a little leary. Also I broke my toe on the weird step all the way around the tub in the master bathroom. It was a special occasion and I didn't mind spending a little more to get exactly what we wanted. We paid over a thousand dollars and the cabin was very disappointing. There was a for sale sign in the front yard so I guess no one wants to keep the property up anymore. We have vacationed many times in Ruidoso it's our favorite getaway. We will stay back in town or upper canyon as we have in the past or even a hotel would be better and less expensive. I feel the property could be nicer for the astronomical price but needs some serious cleaning and upkeep. Would not recommend it as is.

Quiet area

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in your cabin. We had a couple of deer visit back patio and there was elk near cabin, which excited everyone. Kids and grandkids were thrilled for hot tub and loft. Owner was quick to try to help when we discovered water not on upon our arrival. Apparently it was off for area wide service that we just happen to catch the end of. The kids enjoyed the go carts, shopping and eating pizza at Café Rio.

Good last minute choice

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful cabin, clean and has everything you need! The cleaning fee is a little outrageous compared to others....especially when we had to strip the sheets, gather up towels, wash dishes all before check out. For $$$ cleaning fee, that should be done by the cleanup by crew. The shrub/tree located off the front of the deck needs to be trimmed, it blocks your view while relaxing. We did find a dead mouse on the back patio. But otherwise a nice place.

Owner's Response: The cleaning & maintenance fee pays the cleaning service and spa technician who service the house after each guest. We prefer to charge this fee, from which we make no profits, in order to keep the nightly rental fee lower. In that way, guests know exactly what they are paying for. Guests are asked to strip the sheets from used beds, pile up dirty towels and load the dishwasher before leaving. I believe this is fairly common protocol for all vrbo houses.
