Bedrooms 3
Space 83 m²
Property type condo
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

3 Bedroom, 2 queens, 2 twin size beds,1 full bathroom, sleeps 7

'Deerfield Park Angler's Hideaway' is a beautiful Black Hills paradise that offers a peaceful setting with a feel of seclusion, surrounded by nature and wildlife. Listen for the turkeys gobbling, the bull elk bugling, and the coyotes howling. Watch as the Bald Eagle swoops down and pulls a fish out of the lake. You can't help but feel like a part of nature.. Located in the 'Heart of the Hills,' it's close to most of the main attractions. This is a rare opportunity to rent a condo on one of Black Hill's finest fishing lakes, literally 50 yards off our rear deck. 'Catch and Release' is greatly appreciated. We want to preserve this great fishing opportunity. Don't fish? Then step out back and let the panoramic view take your breath away. You will be amazed! This property is located just 11 miles from Hill City. You will travel on 9 miles of Highway and two miles of very well maintained gravel road. Enjoy hiking, biking, ATVing, Snowmobiling or skiing! They are all close by.

Come stay with us and enjoy your adventure. You will be back!!

Wonderful Stay Our Second Time Around

  • 5 of 5

This was the second time we have stayed at this condo and just love our time spent there. The view is spectacular and fishing was great! Our son and his friend enjoyed the paddle boat. They caught some big trout ranging from 9 to 17 inches! It is a wildlife haven! We saw deer, elk, osprey, blue birds, lark bunting, yellow warbler, geese and much more. This condo is such a comfortable and relaxing place for us to stay. We love it and have many great memories! We hope to be back next year.

Wow...what a view, what a nice property, and Diane and Monty were great to work with. The location couldn't have been better for a trip to the Black Hills area. The first night there was a clear night and I've never, ever seen so many stars. In the morning, deer drinking from the beautiful lake, wind whistling through the Black Hills pines...we even caught a few trout in the short time we fished. Don't be concerned with the short ride on a gravel road to the property, it was very wide and well maintained, no problem at all. If you are looking for something close to town, but quiet and away from it all...this one's for's perfect for nature lovers.

Diane and Monte - thank you so much and if we're in the area again we would love to come back!! :)

Peaceful and Secluded!

  • 5 of 5

I could go on and on and on and on about this place but I will keep it short. I am usually a harsh critic about where I stay because my family and I just want seclusion and quiet. These two aspects can be hard to find in the Black Hills which get a lot of traffic during this summer but this place has it all. Outside the back porch are unparalleled views of the hills and the small lake. Even though there was a couple staying a few doors down from us it was as if we were the only family in the Black Hills. The condo also was extremely clean and well maintained. The condo is also ideally situated in a place where Hill City, Mount Rushmore, Sylvan Lake, and other popular destinations are within a 15 minute ride. We will never stay anywhere else if we visit the Black Hills again!

My husband, myself and another couple stayed at the Anglers hideaway during the 76th Sturgis Black Hills Rally. The condo is in one of the most peaceful settings you could ever imagine. Deer wandering down by the lake and on the hillside morning and night, and a friendly Canadian goose that loved to hang out and enjoy our company. The condo had everything you could ever need during your stay. I don't know about the downstairs bed but the upstairs bed was super comfortable and I have to say, I slept like a log every night. The condo was clean and just wonderful. I actually miss that crisp mountain air now that I am back home in NH. I do have to say riding a motorcycle on the gravel road would be a little interesting if you are a new rider or one not used to dirt roads. but the road was beautifully maintained, just a little loose on the top. Close enough to the action (20 minutes to Hill City) but far enough out for peace and quiet. I highly recommend staying here!!

Great location

  • 4 of 5

This house was small but perfect for a stopover in the Black Hills. We had breakfast on the deck overlooking a beautiful lake. Lots of basic supplies for cooking and cleaning. Diane was great about getting in touch well before we traveled with all the instructions we needed.

Try to arrive your first day when it is still light to make it easier to find!

Our only problem was not enough bath towels for the number of people i had booked for - unless they were hidden somewhere we couldn't find - and no network coverage so unable to phone owners.

Black Hills Cottage

  • 4 of 5

Very nice property. I enjoyed sitting on the back porch overlooking the lake, watching the osprey catching fish out of the lake. The property was close to Mt Rushmore as well as Custard State Park. My son enjoyed fishing and caught a lot of fish, and I enjoyed the paddle boat. Only downfall was that there was no washer and dryer.

We are centrally located in the Black Hills just 11 miles outside of Hill City. We are close to most of the main attractions you would want to see from Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, 1880 Train and many, many more. Just pick up the maps and brochures of the area at any of the tourism locations and let the fun begin. The South Dakota Dept. of Tourism has a great website so you can do some pre-planning.

There are things to do and places to see from Evans Plunge and The Mammoth Site in Hot Springs in the Southern Hills to the Historic Sate Fish Hatchery in Spearfish in the Northern Hills with Historic Deadwood and The Homestake Gold Mine in between.

Try to take in the night ceremony at Mt. Rushmore if time permits, it is truely a memorable experience. There is also the Famous Buffalo Round-Up in Custer State Park in late September that seems to be a big hit as well.

Once back at the condo, get the kids out on the paddle boat. We also have a couple of fishing poles there for your use. 'Catch and Release is greatly appreciated. A South Dakota fishing license is required. A license can be purchased online at the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks website. All fishing regulations are available there as well.
