Unplug and Reconnect with Family, Fishing, and Fun

Bedrooms 4
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 - 6 nights

About the property

Cabin, 4 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 8)

Reconnect with the things that matter in life by spending time at Lloyd's Landing. Our seasonal cabin is nestled on the eastern edge of South Twin Lake, a great fishing lake, you have the use of your own dock and flat access to the lake. The kids will love swimming off the dock because of the soft sandy lake bottom and no drop offs.

Our cabin is extremely family-friendly. The four bedrooms are configured into two Family Suites. In a family suite, you walk through one bedroom to get to another. In the Master Suite, the front bedroom has two twin beds and the back bedroom has a standard double bed. In the Guest Suite, the front bedroom has a bunk bed and the back bedroom has a standard double. So there is bed space for 8, and two more can easily sleep on the convertible sofa in the living room.

Lloyd's Landing offers a refuge from the noise and clutter of the high tech world. We have no TV, no wifi, no landline. Hiking and mountain biking are easily accessible from the back door. Our fully enclosed porch is the perfect place to watch the sunset, and our outdoor fire pit is ideal for storytelling and marshmallow roasting.

But if watching the sunset in a gliding rocker is not how you reconnect, bring your four wheelers and rev it up on the trails and logging roads of the adjacent White Earth State Forest. With a variety of terrain and trails, the forest has more than 65 miles of dual purpose forest roads, and connects with the Forest Riders' ATV Trail, a 101-mile trail connecting the Two Inlets State Forest, White Earth State Forest and Becker and Hubbard counties managed forest lands.

Although our mid-century cottage is on the edge of the state forest, life's necessities are just ¼ mile away at the Pinehurst Resort, which includes a gas station, a general store, a full restaurant and bar, and boat rentals. The Village Store in Naytahwaush is the local grocery store, offering vegetables, meats, and a wider selection of grocery items.

Lloyd's Landing is ideally situated just 45 minutes north of Detroit Lakes and only 15 miles from the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen. Lake Itaska, where you will find the headwaters of the Mississippi River, is a scenic 45 minute drive.

Unplugged and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a very relaxing week long stay. The cabin was perfect, very comfortable. Loved the closeness to the lake and the quiet area. Enjoyed the wildlife right out the door in the mornings and the beautiful sunsets around the campfire in the evenings. The lake was fun to play on and plenty of fish was caught by all. Thank you for sharing your cabin with our family.

Needed to get away!

  • 5 of 5

We needed to get away and Lloyd's Landing was PERFECT!! So perfect in fact, we decided to squeeze in two more trips before winter sets in. The setting provided us with the peace and tranquility we were seeking. Along with gorgeous sunsets, starlit skis (this really reminded me of WY), the calls of loons, presence of eagles, cool breezes at night, dipping our feet into the warm lake off the dock at night, the FANTASTIC couch glider on the porch...I really could go on and on. The amenities in the cabin were perfect, we looked for nothing that we couldn't find. While our life, as are many others, tends to be hectic and busy, we are hopeful of returning for a longer stay next summer. If you are considering Lloyd's Landing, do not hesitate, you will not be disappointed!

Lake living

This was a great place to unplug and relax. Just enough modern convenience for the essentials. We would easily rent again.

Our 2nd Stay at Lloyds Landing

  • 5 of 5

Like to thank Amy & Dave for having Us for a 2nd time at their beautiful cabin. The remodeling work that they have done really makes the cabin even better than when we visited 3 years ago. The fishing was outstanding, we landed plenty of jumbo bluegill/sunfish, crappies, small mouth bass and northern pike. The wildlife kept Us entertained and playing games at night was a real treat away from a TV. Will return again & again.

Loved Lloyd's Landing!

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic get-away cabin! My husband and I loved the mid-century style and the proximity to the water. The cabin had everything we needed for a relaxing week-long stay. We enjoyed fishing and wildlife watching during the days and grilling and Yahtzee tournaments at night. The proximity to Itasca State Park was also great for a day trip! We would highly recommend if you're looking to completely unplug and get back to nature.

Perfect family getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

For the last 6 years, our family and another family have gone somewhere for Memorial Day. There are 9 of us total with four adults and 5 kids ages 12, 9, 7, 5, and 3. This year we choose Lloyds landing. We all agreed it was the best year yet! The location is remote, but not isolated. The cabin was a perfect fit! Dave was super and the instructions and descriptions were great. We really enjoyed being unplugged (there is no TV, Internet and limited cell service, but there is so much to do we didn't even miss the electronics!) and loved spending quality family time together. The weather was perfect for Memorial Day and the kids loved all the lawn games and water toys available (they were even able to swim off the dock). The fishing was great, the kids loved catching little fish off the dock and seeing all the loons and ducks right out in front of the cabin. The adults loved the privacy, and letting the kids run outside without worrying about busy roads or bothering lots of people. The neighbors were friendly and very helpful with directions and information about the area. We also loved all the little things, like the washer and dryer, a table big enough to to seat 9, a great fire pit with wood to use, and a kitchen with all the utensils and dishes we could need for grilling out and preparing our meals! They also had ziplock bags ready for us to take our fish home!! One of our favorite thing was to sit each night around the fire and roast s'mores enjoy the beautiful view of the lake and visiting!! We are already hoping to go back next year. If you are looking for a great family place to unwind and reconnect, Lloyds landing is it!!
