About this property

The Gardener`s Bungalow is a fully self-contained water view cottage boasting prime location for relaxing ,reflection and just kicking back. The 750 sq. ft. cottage offers full kitchen, spacious washroom (en-suite) King bed in bedroom . Sat TV ,WiFi complementary barbecue and Hot Tub/Spa. Lake view (Brasd`or) where you`ll fall asleep to sound of the waves and watch eagles as they patrol the coastal vista in the morning sunrise. Take a leisurely stroll along the bay or simply follow the road to the center of the village (2km.) for shopping, cafe, dining, music or Museums. The Gardener`s Bungalow is set aside with it`s own private green space facing south east for great sunrises and to ensure privacy. Gardens surround the bungalow with guests adding there own creative care. Lobster boil pot available , golf ,fishing,whale watching and scenic Cabot Trail tours arranged by prior request. Daily light housekeeping included(subject to CV19).

The Gardener`s Bungalow Property:
Our property is situated in the village of Baddeck along the Baddeck Bay. We are a 2 mile walk/drive/bike to the center of the village. Which allows one to partake of the village`s many amenities yet escape from it`s summer bustle. Our property offers a central location for all adventures Cape Breton Island has to offer within easy access by foot or car. We are located on the World Famous Cabot Trail. The cottage has a simple bright and airy feel yet a touch of simple luxury at a easy budget. The full kitchen allows even the most budget minded to save hundreds in restaurant costs yet in a upscale historic setting. Our property is a historic one, overlooking the estate of Alexander Graham Bell and the bay his historic flight took place on. Our property was owned by his assistant, companion (McCurdy) and one of the founders of the National Geographic Society (George Kennan). Other deeded owners were Samual Cunard of the steamship fame. So if they liked it here I expect you will too

Hydrofoil Hanger unit

We actually stayed in the Hydrofoil Hanger unit at this property, not the cottage on this page. The unit we stayed in is exactly as it appears in its listing on VRBO. The vibe is simple and modern, open and airy. The unit had everything needed. The location can’t be beat, a few minutes drive to town and ideally situated for exploring Cape Breton. We loved the waterfront views and soaking in the hot tub after a day of driving and hiking. We would have liked a few more towels- we were supplied one bath and one beach towel each, and the towels did not dry completely between uses.

Great visit to Cape Breton

This is a lovely cottage. Good access to the Cabot Trail and other areas of Cape Breton. Owner was very helpful with great suggestions on things to do.

Cape Breton Getaway

My husband and I stayed at here as we explored the Cabot trail and the Cape Breton area. The location was perfect and John gave us many great ideas of things to do and places to eat. The little cottage was perfect for our vacation with a small kitchen with everything we needed to cook a few meals for ourselves. The bed was very comfortable.

A Baddeck Beauty

Our five night stay in Baddeck couldn’t have been more comfortable. Our beautiful and very well appointed two bedroom cottage overlooking the lake was so private and peaceful. Spotlessly clean and up to date; big bonuses included an efficient washer - dryer and a hot tub on the deck from whence to gaze at the stars above. Located close to the charming Baddeck center, this cottage is a great base for exploring the Cabot Trail and all of Cape Breton. Highly recommended.
