Location is key and this rental is perfectly located to easily walk to all things Folly! Once you park your car there will be no need to get back in it, unless you are leaving the Island. This rental is located on the first floor of a two story home. The space includes two private bedrooms with 1 queen, 1 full and a twin daybed in the common area. The daybed is tucked back in it's own little nook with curtains that offer a bit of added privacy. . Great for small families on a budget or couple's retreat! Pictures do not do this rental justice as it is much larger then it appears. Open, airy living area that comfortably seats 5 along with dining inside. Fully appointed kitchen with everything you need to stay in and prepare a meal. Comcast cable and Wifi, Smart flat screen TV in living room, additional TV in Master bedroom. Covered Shaded porch outside with dining table and seating. Fenced in yard. Outdoor shower with hot/cold water. 1/2 block from Restaurants, Bars, Shops, Grocery and 2 blocks back from the beach. B 2 Beach Chairs provided. This rental is not a single family home but a downstairs, ground level apartment.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS THE DOWNSTAIRS GROUND LEVEL UNIT OF A TWO STORY HOME. While it is not a basement...it is on the first floor and you will hear some foot traffic above. The above space is lived in full time by a family of 4. The upstairs unit uses the back entrance and Tucked Away uses the front. Please also note that all parking out front is owned by the city of Folly Beach. We can not guarantee parking directly in front of the unit although there usually is ample space. The City of Folly Beach owns all easements. You are allowed to park anywhere on Folly as long as you are parallel to the flow of traffic, all four tires off the road, not blocking a driveway or fire hydrant.

WE ARE PET FRIENDLY, HOWEVER WE HAVE A LIMIT OF JUST TWO PETS. OUR PET FEE IS $50 PER PET. IF WANTING TO BRING YOUR PET, PLEASE CONTACT US PRIOR ABOUT SIZE AND BREED BEFORE BOOKING. PLEASE ALSO KNOW YOUR PET AND THEIR ANXIETY LEVEL WHEN LEFT ALONE. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR PET IF IT BARKS OR WHINES INCESSANTLY WHEN LEFT UNATTENDED INSIDE OR OUT. WE ARE DOG OWNERS AND AS DOG OWNERS YOU KNOW YOUR DOGS PERSONALITY AND BEHAVIOR. DOGS BARKING TO ALERT IS ONE THING...SEPARATION ANXIETY IS ANOTHER. WE DO HAVE NEIGHBORS AND THIS IS AN APARTMENT WITHIN A HOME. EVEN IF PET IS CRATED...WE CAN NOT HAVE IT CONTINUOUSLY BARKING. IT'S NOT GOOD FOR YOUR PET AND IT'S NOT GOOD FOR OTHER GUESTS. WE APPRECIATE YOUR HELP IN KEEPING THIS A PET FRIENDLY. RENTAL. IF YOU DO HAVE MULTIPLE PETS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO BRING, WE MANAGE A WONDERFUL SINGLE FAMILY HOME WITH A HUGE FENCED IN BACK YARD THAT IS VERY PRIVATE AND WOULD OFFER A RELAXING RETREAT FOR DOGS AND OWNERS.

About Dianne Ray

Living and raising our two wonderful children on Folly Beach is a dream come true for my husband Michael and myself. We are so very grateful to have the opportunity to share a portion of our home with you. We have been offering our downstairs rental to guests since 2010 and to our delight, have forged lasting relationships with souls from all over the world. Michael was born and raised in Charleston, while I enjoyed growing up an hour and a half inland with my horse in Orangeburg, SC. Michael and I met and both graduated from Clemson University in 1996. We quickly settled in Charleston and began our life together. We have 2 busy kids, a Folly spaniel(Springer with a splash of Lab) and two outdoor cats. We are beyond grateful for our blessings....big and small.

  • The bathroom is small but is efficiently designed. There is a walk in shower. The toilet even has a bidet attached. We also have a private outdoor shower for your own personal use.

Notes:
There is a separate nook off of the living area with a twin bed. This rental is not free standing. It is the ground level rental of a permanent residence upstairs. The rental has the privacy of the front yard while the upstairs has access from the back yard.

Perfect for a quick getaway!

Great location. We parked in front, unloaded and did not have to move the car until the day we left. Easy walk to the beach and Center Street. The place was neat, clean and beach funky (in a good way). We will definitely be back!

Park the car and walk to everything Folly Beach has to offer. Clean and comfortable place to stay. Love the outdoor shower for rinsing off the sand.

Perfect Place!

We love the cleanliness of the place and the location. The decor is fun and bright as is the new floor! We're so fortunate to have found Tucked Away. It has everything that a person needs and we don't worry about a thing. Love that there is a second tv in the bedroom, and love the outdoor sitting area. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. We hope to be back soon :)

Best of Folly

We stayed at Tucked Away for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We found it was bigger than it looked in the pictures and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was obvious much thought had gone into making a welcoming space for guests and we appreciated all the details. The location was great; close to restaurants and other shops, while also a short walk to the beach. Despite being in the center of things, we found it to be peaceful when we wanted quite time. We are happy to recommend Tucked Away to anyone wanting to get away to this great beach town.
