Outdoor covered balcony. Quick walk to the Grace Bay Beach. Two pools, two Jacuzzi, a gym and other amenities. Traver-tine floor tiles, GE profile, Stainless steel appliances, Custom wood cabinetry. Granite counter tops, Central Air-conditioning & ceiling fans. Washer/Dryer and built in safes. The studio was just as pictured. It was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed my stay in Provo and will be back. I would stay at this property again
Stayed from 11/20/16 - 11/25/16. 2 total guests.
This studio is for the budget conscious. It was a nice stay specifically for us although the pictures are little off.
About the owner:
Steve was very responsive as my plans had changed a few times but we were able to figure out a schedule that worked. Even when we were on location, Steve or his manager, Gail, was available and responding.
About the property/area:
Although the studio does not have a view, it was plenty of space for the 2 of us and we usually left the rental right after cooking breakfast. Beware of mosquitos and NO elevator! This studio is located on the second floor so not too bad. Also, the rental area (La Vista Azul) didn't seem to be fully occupied so it felt like we were the only ones at the property. Saw a few people but whether good or bad, we always felt safe at all hours - there was a security guard we saw every so often. There is a hot tub on the top floor (perfect for a late afternoon/evening recharge) with a distant view of Grace Bay as well as the pool (but we never used). Small gym but has the essentials. The property is located in Turtle Cove where Mango Reef (must go for food), Sharkbite (must go for late night dive bar drinks; and by late night, I mean 8pm), and Bight Reef for snorkeling. A few other shops too but you'll definitely NEED a rental car to get around and explore but it's extremely easy after getting used to driving on the other side of the road.
Inside the property:
There are a few pots and pans for cooking. Utensils, dishes, cups, and cutlery. Coffee maker. Big fridge. The microwave doesn't work and we didn't try using the oven. There was dishwashing soap! You should make sure to bring/buy any salt and pepper, butter, cooking oils, drinking water, etc. Just imagine, the very basic hardware is there but BYOstuff for all else. That also goes for paper towels and TP. Only 1 roll each was provided. We luckily packed 1 PT and 2 TP rolls. There is also a washer/dryer but no detergent. Shower and beach towels provided. TV and Wifi both worked well. The fan above the bed and AC also worked great.
Overall: Good budget-friendly stay in a clean, safe area.
Condo was in a central location for touring the island. I would recommend renting a car, unless you just plan to walk to the closest beach and eat at the restaurants nearby. We enjoyed the space. It was clean, except for a very dusty ceiling fan and all the tops of hanging pictures. Some dishes in the cupboard had food stuck on them, presumably a result of the last guest not rinsing before running the dishwasher. Of note, only one roll of toilet paper is provided, and only enough soap for one load in the dishwasher, one load of laundry, and very little dish soap for hand washing dishes. Beach towels were provided, but extra hand and kitchen towels would be nice to have.
Nice location, short drive to restaurants, grocery stores, and beach access.
We cooked breakfast at the studio every morning, had sufficient kitchen supplies. (Supplied own oil, spices, and dishwashing soap).
The gym at La vista azul is very nice for those on vacation who still want to do some exercise/weight lifting etc.
Clean towels and linens were provided and sufficient. Two rolls of toilet paper and paper towels are provided (good to know ahead of time). We did have trouble with the bathroom sink being clogged. Made the manager aware, we just used the kitchen sink for handwashing/teethbrushing - not too big of a deal. I did have trouble with the outlets not working (in bathroom and by the nightstand), fortunately the kitchen and 'dining table' area ones worked fine.
Overall good location to stay. Nice balcony off of the studio to relax or eat on (chairs/table), although no outstanding view from balcony. Up a few flights of stairs are the pools, with chairs/umbrellas and a view of the ocean. The manager was not able to meet us when we arrived, however once we made contact and received the access code it really wasn't a big deal. The hardest part was asking the front desk staff for help to be able to make a phone call to the manager.
We used the Bight bay beach access (free parking and nice beach area) most often in the Grace Bay area. Otherwise we drove to various parts of the island (Northwest point, Malcom beach, Long bay hills, pirates cove, sapodilla bay, discovery bay) as there is definitely a lot to explore. We would definietly recommend exploring outside of turtle cove/grace bay area if you are able to rent a vehicle (we had a 4x4). We really enjoyed finding secluded beaches, gravel roads and beautiful views.
Nice quiet condo complex in the Turtle Cove area. The unit provided good value for the area, is very clean, has a handy keyless entry, and is close by to some excellent dining spots. We didn't plan on renting a car but needed one to check out the Grace Bay area. The beach is about a 10 minute walk, IGA food store is about a 25-30 minute walk, while restaurants and marina are about 5 to 10 minutes. Turks & Caicos is a beautiful and safe island.
Condo was very well equipped. Super large pool and beach towels and even some beach items like chairs and umbrella. Loved having washer dryer in suite great after day at beach or pool to dry clothes and towels. Condo is on the first floor so great for us only one set of stairs and closest to the beach and restaurants. Trade off was balcony had obstructed view so it overlooks parking lot not sea view. Would stay here again price was very reasonable. We love to snorkel so staying in Turtle Cove makes most sense with Smiths a Reef being a 3 min walk from condo.
