I work part time at an Arts Library(5 minutes from the flat/drop in say hi.I work Mondays and Fridays.James spends most of his time at our music shop in Camden Town.We've owned it since 1996. We're on if decide to pop up to the world famous Camden Market drop by and visit us.

Love this flat!

This was a return visit to this flat in Trafalgar Square and it is an amazing location to use as a base when visiting this wonderful city. Transportation is easy with Charring Cross underground down stairs and bus stops all around. My first time to really use an Oyster card and that is an amazing deal that allows you to travel like a local from one end of London to the other. We used a Google Map App to guide us and it was efficient and a fun challenge to get around. Theaters surround the area as well as good restaurants. The flat is comfortable and includes everything needed to feel like home away from home. I love this flat!

Fantastic Location, View and Host

What can I say ... the location is just about the best you can get. Apartment has everything you might need for a short or long stay. Wished we could have stayed longer. James kept the instructions pretty simple and everything worked. Maybe some curtains/blinds might be helpful in the lounge/dining room ... you know ... just in case you have to retrieve your pajamas from the dryer wearing nothing but a towel.

GREAT LOCATION in the HEART of London but VERY Noisy

The location was FABULOUS in the heart of London across the street from Trafalgar Square only a few blocks from Piccadilly Circus and the tube. Our hosts were very friendly and patient with us as our flight was delayed and we did not get into London at the time we planned. They welcomed us at the flat and made sure we knew our surroundings and even had a book of wonderful suggestion but that was the extent of positives from our experience. We soon found that our first night the flat had more negatives then positives. The street noise was so LOUD we could hear police cars, traffic, drunks from the pub and square, and music playing loudly. Even sleeping with ear plugs and a white noise maker we contemplated calling it quits and getting a hotel. The building itself had beautiful old world charm the interior had an adequate kitchen, a small bathroom, and sufficient beds but, there were NO DRAPES except in the master bedroom. There was absolutely NO privacy. My girls slept in the loft and the lights from the square and traffic drenched the flat all night long. We found extra sheet in the closet used our hair bands to tie them up on the hinges on the windows so that we could just relax and walk around the flat at night without feeling that all of London was watching us. The flat was so full of the owners extra stuff, and furniture that you felt like you were living in an office or storage unit, it did not feel like a cozy home away from home. There was NO closet or storage space to hang or empty our suitcases. Every cupboard and corner of the flat was covered with the owners stuff. We stayed 3 nights and could not wait to get to our next location to get some sleep, privacy and a quite flat. We were definitely disappointed, the apartment was beautiful from the pictures the reviews were positive. Even the reviews that mentioned the noise made it seem like it was no big deal and totally manageable but after our stay I would not recommend this flat unless you enjoy sleeping with police sirens and lights in your eyes. The owners need to make some serious changes to make this flat more comfortable. It could be the best flat in London with its location and charm if they just put a little TLC into it.

James and myself always try to please our guests with check in times to suit.I'm pleased you found the information book to be of use, I really try to keep this up to date with current art shows,plays,etc.I'm sorry to hear that you found the location of the flat to be too noisy. The flat is right in the Heart Of London and it's a compromise that people have to make by choosing to stay in the West End. I can appreciate that not all people will enjoy the hustle and bustle of the West End. The is a full closet near the door so I'll ensure that James and myself show that to our guests,but I do take on board your comments and thank you for your feedback. I personally like that fact that the flat has books,but again this may not be to everybody tastes. We do our best to provide a safe and charming place to stay and we often have repeat guests staying there but we do appreciate your feedback and I wish you had enjoyed your stay more. In the heart of London, with room to move

This is our first stay in this flat, and must report it was excellent. The flat couldn't be more centrally located (view of Trafalgar Square from multiple windows) with the tube, shopping, pubs and restaurants all just steps away. Even a balcony to step out on to make the view even more awesome. While there wasn't excessive heat in London when we were there, sometimes there can be, and this flat has nice and cool central forced AC; an obvious plus for those occasions when it gets hot. Sure there was a bit of street noise, but it's the beating heart of London folks! I never lost any sleep due to noise, so unless you are most light of sleepers you'll do just fine.

The owner, James met us at the flat and was cheerful and helpful. And my daughter even forgot her dental retainer when we checked out and would of cost $350 when I got home, except James's cleaning crew found it and James promised to mail home for me! So not only was the flat great, James actually saved the day for my daughter's allowance fund (which she was grateful).

There were 5 of us in the flat (my parents, both 70) my wife and I (in our 40s) and our 10 year old daughter. There was plenty of room. The elevator up to the flat (while only 1 floor) made it easy on my parents knees.

Minor notes that do not detract from the flat, is it would be helpful to have a bit more storage to put our clothes, and perhaps faster WIFI speeds but on measure this flat is certainly five out five stars!

The WI FI is usually very fast and BT were having issues on one day resulting in a reduced speed,but thankfully this was just a temporary issue.There is a closet for hanging clothes just near the front door but I appreciate that more space is needed in the main bedroom.I'll be sorting that out asap.I really try to take on board all suggestions from guests.I hope to welcome you back on your next trip to the UK and your daughter should have her retainer by now. The location was good, great even for being the center of activity, but this was also a serious drawback. It was so loud! The apartment is directly above a pub. Some nights I was worried we would even get any sleep. Lots of noisy drunk people just below.

Also, the apartment could have been so beautiful but it was full of the owners extra furniture, stuff etc. I felt like we were staying in a messy storage facility. There was absolutely no closet space at all. The huge closet in the master was so full of the owners own personal stuff, it was inaccessible. It would have been nice to have more convenient places to put our clothes etc. The kitchen was also a mess, just full of unusable dishes and glasses that were just someone's excess and needed just a place to be. With all the extra "stuff" and even furniture the apartment, it was hard to feel like it was ours. We stayed six nights, and felt like we were just borrowing someone else's place, almost like we were interferring in the space.

Also, there were no drapes! The lights from the busy Trafalgar Square and the street lights just outside, poured in all night long. This was hard for there was no privacy and it was too light to sleep. We had to improvise with sofa cushions and our rain jackets propped up to make the apartment a little more conducive for sleeping.

I felt a little disappointed, the apartment has beautiful bones and could be SO wonderful...

Wonderful central location

My family of five stayed here for four nights. My kids were ages 21, 24, and 26. We used the air mattress for one of the girls and it was comfortable. The bed for my husband and myself was small by American standards, but quite adequate. The bathroom was adequate with nice hot water and good shower water pressure, but the floor was old with crumbling tiles that needed replaced. The washing machine/dryer worked fine. A small load takes about 3 hours to wash and dry.

We enjoyed walking all over the city from our central location right on Trafalgar Square. It was nice to only have to climb one flight of stairs at the end of a tiring day of sightseeing, vs. our other apartment we rented in Paris had six flights of stairs. Sunday and Monday nights the square was fairly quiet, but Friday and Saturday the joint was hopping all night long. The city noise did not bother us, but instead was energizing.

The apartment was clean and comfortable, but not fancy. It is a better place for four people instead of five, but we managed quite nicely.

Car: not necessary

This is an outstanding flat with one of the best locations in London.Situated in the Heart Of the West End, several of London's main attractions are within a very short walk.Its location is literally opposite Trafalgar Sqaure! Our guests will wake to a view of Nelson's Column. The National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery are literally opposite the flat. The main London Theaters are within a few minutes walk.The flat is simply stunning with high ceilings thoughout.The flat is graced with floor to ceiling windows with French Doors opening onto a balcony with uninterrupted views across Trafalgar Square towards the National Gallery.The flat is suitable for families with children who really wish to experience London at its best.It's also suitable for couples that are celebrating something special. We regret that we're unable to accommodate large groups wishing to use the flat as a place to party.The place can sleep 5-6 but priority will be given to those travelling with children or people working in the Arts in Central London.

Our guests will find two very large bedrooms and an inviting reception /dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped to make eating in a total pleasure. The table is large enough to allow additional dinner guests(up to 8)We provide all the necessary essentials to produce an outstanding meal at your home from home.However, the flat is so close to the some of the best West End restaurants that some guests will be tempted to eat out most nights. We provide 2014 guides of AA Restauatnts UK Edition, Michelin 2013 London,Zagat,Time Out etc.

For those wishing to have the ultimate break, you'll find some of London's best day spas within a few streets away.This includes one of London's best Woman's Only Spa ,The Santuarary in nearby Covent Garden.

Tate Britain is within a 10 ten minute walk and the Royal Academy is a 10 minute walk away.

The flat is situated close to several transport routes.The closest is either Charing Cross or Leicester Sqaure,both being about a three minute walk.Our guests will also find themselves on several bus routes that will take them to the V&A ,Natural History Museum and Kensington Gardens.We advise our guest to purchase Oysters cards upon arriving in London.Should you wish us to do this for you,please just ask!

The flat has air conditioning for the the somewhat hotter summer months.There's central air for the winter months. The windows are double glazed allowing for quiet whilst indoors.Our guests will hardly hear the sound of London from inside.

There's a very fast WI FI connection and cable/satelite television.

The nearby shopping on Oxford St and Charing Cross Road will be a real treat for people who love to shop until they drop. From high end shops to the two very large budget Primarks,one will find something to take back home with them. After a morning strolling aroud the West End a special treat of a full English Afternnoon Tea will sure to become a special memory of your time in London. Yes, it can be somewhat expensive but it should be something that should be tried if you have the time and budget. The Ritz is by far the best in London.The Savoy, The Dorchester,Browns, and Clariddge's are all expensive but worth it.The National Portrait Gallery,The Wallace Collection and the Langham are more affordable and equally as good. Fortnum and Mason on nearby Picacadilly is also worth it. Their food hall is amazing/and even if you don't have time for the full Afternoon Tea you could buy some tea to take back with you. The tin cans ar simply stunning in design.A great gift for those back home.You will find that a few of the hotels near the British Museum also offer Afternoon Tea/but the ones listed above are far better.One exception is Bea's of Bloomsbury which is well worth a visit.

Escape the pressure of everyday life as you loosen up within one of London’s finest spas, Spa illuminata. It has been said to give out one of the best massages that you could possibly imagine. Apart from that, it does not give an all female vibe, as it has been a place for the secret male spa-goer. One of the best treatments that it offers is the Decleor Harmonie facial, with scalp, hand and head massage. Spa Illuminata is located in Mayfair.This is about 10 minutes from the flat..

Berkeley Spa would surely help you unwind from the stress of the city as it lets you unwind with certain therapies such as facials and calming massages. Clients swear the results such as soft and rejuvenated skin afterwards a treatment. The Berkeley Spa is located near Hyde Park.15 min from the flat.

If you're coming to London with some of your closest girlfriends then a vist to the women's only Sanctuary in nearby Covent Garden is a great day to spend a full day or early evening.This is 7 minutes from the flat.
