The property was very clean and welcoming. We enjoyed a walk in the woods, floating on the pond, ate supper outside and star gazing at night. It is only 40 minutes from Cherry Springs State Park. We enjoyed our ranger lead program but the stars seemed closer, clearer and more peaceful at the cabin. The neighbors seemed welcoming because they waved as they drove past. It was a perfect weekend. We plan on staying here again.

Peaceful and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful surroundings, frog songs all nights. Wild life, deer, and a bear came to visit the last night we stayed. It isn't the Ritz, it is just as described, but it was perfect for what my family wanted...time in the woods, with hot water, toilet (which is a comfort in the woods), a fully functioning kitchen, and comfortable beds! And, Vicky, the caretaker, was pleasant and super helpful. I almost want to say it isn't nice so it is always available for us! Thank you Pam!

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this cabin for a long weekend and had a great time. Cabin is very charming, homey and clean. We enjoyed the pond and fire pit each night -- took our own grill and ate dinner by the pond. Very quite and relaxing! I would rent this location again.

Beautiful cabin on a pond

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time -- on the property, catching salamanders, toasting marshmallows in the fire pit and really unplugging. We were close to beautiful state parks and had a terrific hike, The area was very quiet and we all enjoyed relaxing. The cabin was very clean and well stocked with the basics -- I was SHOCKED when I read other reviews -- everyone in my party felt that it was a great place and quite a good value. The cabin and northern PA in general, is remote, so I had no cell service -- one friend with Verizon had an easier tome than I did, ATT is not the best carrier here. My car broke down while at the cabin -- 7 miles from town. Pam tried to assist even though she was out of the country on vacation, which was greatly appreciated. However, the neighbors really helped me out, and a local mechanic even lent me his car so I wasn't stranded with kids!!! Its a lovely area.

Beautiful Cabin!! Terrific value

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was wonderful -- very relaxing!! Clean and quiet! The kids never wanted to leave because they were hunting salamanders! It was a terrific back to nature retreat! Pam was helpful even though she was out of the country on her own vacation!!! We LOVED it!

Cozy and quiet

  • 3 of 5

It looks beautiful from the outside, the kids enjoyed playing outdoors watching the frogs and picking wild flowers. Room sizes are decent, and it was cozy and comfortable.

The things one should be aware of before booking this cottage..

- Just one bath room is a problem if there are many people.

- The kitchen is too small, and there is not enough dining space.

- There is absolutely no cell or wifi service nearby, wish there was a paid phone at least for emergency!

I would have rated this cottage higher, and would have definitely gone back but for the rodents we saw running around the night we arrived. This was a big turn off and most of us were petrified even to walk around. Really hope the owner makes sure this never happens to any other guest again.

Otherwise, she was very approachable and ready to answer all our questions.

Over all, still think it is a lovely cottage, we definitely enjoyed our time there.
