Magical.

  • 5 of 5

This is the most remote place I have ever stayed, seriously away from it all. We drove 5 hours in from NJ. It was nice not having my 12 year old son distracted by wi-fi. He spent hours catching salamanders by the pond. We also spent 2 days at the Rainbow Paradise trout farm which was an amazing experience for my son who is an avid fisherman, he cannot wait to visit again one day. The cabin was great, very cozy and stocked with necessities. I would absolutely stay again one day. Although we did not get to catch any stars as it was cloudy and rainy it was still an experience of a lifetime. Thank you

Charming cabin, very clean and well stocked.

  • 5 of 5

The property sits off a back road not heavily traveled. There are neighbors to the left and right. There is a small creek down the back hollow, it widens out under the bridge and can be fished. The woods behind the cabin have many trails. We found several springs, and small waterfalls. The pond out front is full of salamanders, frogs, and ducks stopped by for a bit. The nights are perfect darkness, I’ve never seen so many stars. The cabin was neat, and already stocked with trash bags, paper towels etc. The cabin is very charming, with a home like feel. There are two balconies on the top floor, and two decks on the first. Fire wood was supplied in BULK! There is a charcoal grill on the kitchen deck, and a fire pit with a picnic table and grill to place over the pit. The neighbors are very quiet, and seemed nice(wave to everyone) We would surely rent again, very beautiful spot.

Owner's Response: Thank you for capturing the essence and spirit of the cabin and property ... and why we raised our six kids here on family retreats. We plan to retire here (winters are beautiful too), just the two of us...to enjoy peacefulness and quietness and the natural surrounding beauty.

Met our expectations

  • 4 of 5

The property came across as no frills and this was indeed the case, and I mean that mostly in a good way. It was great to be able to disconnect from the world. The downside of being disconnected was the nagging voice in my head saying, “What happens if there’s an emergency?” We had to drive about 8 miles to get any cell service. The cabin was comfortable and cozy. There was plenty of wood for the wood stove and for the fire pit outside, had we wanted to use that. 10-20 degrees outside at noon got kept us from doing a fire outside. The heat worked great. A couple minor issues included a shower curtain that really needs to be replaced. We couldn’t find a lighter anywhere to start a fire and also had to get kindling to get a fire started. Also, there are a limited number of pots and pans. When the owner says the stove is old, that is indeed the case! Some instructions on lighting the stove would have been helpful for my wife and I so that we could be fairly certain that we wouldn’t accidentally burn the cabin down! All of that being said, none of those issues kept us from being able to enjoy ourselves. We have used Home Away numerous times and have yet to be disappointed. 4 Seasons was the least expensive up to this point and the price matched up well with the simplicity and basics we were looking for.

Cute, clean, and cozy.

Perfect spot to relax and unplug. The night sky is breathtaking out there and deck and balconies provide a great vantage point without leaving the property.

Property was perfect!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I were planning on going away for our anniversary and this property was more than what we expected for the price we paid. It is outdated, not glamorous by all means but it was perfect because we are not glamorous people and that was just what we were looking for! Had a beautiful view out by the pond we got lots of beautiful pictures of. We used the fire pit which was very relaxing. We brought our 4-wheeler and rode through the trails in the woods behind the cabin which was a blast (There are lots of trails). The house had brochures of things to do stocked and we used the heck out of them! We have traveled from Austin to Bradford and then all the way to Wellsboro which were all within an hour and a half from the cabin or less. we did lots of sightseeing In multiple counties, stargazing in galeton and even rode horseback with summit trail rides in coudersport. Our favorite restaurant/bar we went to was pine creek inn. The staff there really made you feel at home, we ended up having drinks and wings there every night!! that restaurant is highly recommended!! All-In-all had a great experience with the handsome cabin and town. We will be back for sure!
