About Elaine Hoffman

I am a potter who loves to get my hands in clay.

Hands in dirt is not a bad thing either, as I love to garden ,as well.

I have a large vegetable garden and perennial gardens all around the property. If you are here in season, you may be able to partake of my garden vegetables and/or flowers to decorate the farmhouse.

I also love to hike the trails right out the door- Up the mountains, and down to the river.

These are a few of my favorite things!

I hope that you can come and enjoy them too.

Elaine Hoffman purchased this farmhouse in 1965

Why Elaine Hoffman chose Berkshires

This Farmhouse has been in the family for nearly 50 years. We have developed the land and buildings and have enjoyed its solemnity and tranquility.

What makes this farmhouse unique

The farmhouse is just 2 miles from downtown West Stockbridge where shopping necessities, galleries, restaurants, playgrounds, tennis, and swimming are all available.

It is within 10 minutes from Tanglewood, theatres, movies, museums and other cultural activities, as well as ski resorts.

And yet a lovely place to just sit and contemplate on the screened in porch overlooking the fields, gardens, stream and wooded mountains.

Return again, yes!

After many years of wanting to travel east, I finally made it to the

Berkshires. What a treat! I was delighted by my stay at an old farm

house so lovingly cared for by Elaine, the owner.

It offered a quiet, clean, comfy and beautiful spot to relax and recreate.

It gave me a sense of history, yet I could use the wifi to stay connected

- best of both worlds.

Elaine's hospitality and knowledge of the area's art/craft scene was

especially appreciated and she has an amazing pottery studio just across

the field.

If you are looking for a beautiful spot to stay in the Berkshires I

heartily recommend Elaine's farmhouse. You won't be disappointed. You

will be a returning customer.

Great pet friendly country home

  • 5 of 5

My family and myself completely enjoyed our long weekend at Elaine's country home. Elaine is very helpful with anything you might need. Some of us hiked, biked, shopped, there are many things to do in the area. Our dogs enjoyed our daily hikes as well. The house was very clean and comfortable to stay in. I would recommend the property.

An amazing place to relax & enjoy the Berkshires

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a lovely and relaxing time at Elaine’s farmhouse. It is a warm and inviting place equipped with everything that a family could possibly need on vacation. We enjoyed having our morning tea on the screened porch. Our dog had a blast too and enjoyed the lovely grounds. All through our stay, Elaine’s warmth and hospitality was evident. Elaine was a very helpful host and provided us with great recommendations for activities to do during our stay. We came away with very fond memories of our vacation.

A cozy, comfortable, convenient Berkshire home-away-from-home!

  • 5 of 5

The Farmhouse was everything we had hoped for, in terms of having our family, complete with grand babies, gather for a Berkshire vacation. The location was ideal for everything that we planned to do: Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, Great Barrington, the MOCA, and swimming at the local lakes.

Elaine was a wonderful hostess, in that she offered just enough attention, while allowing us plenty of privacy and space. We were greeted with fresh flowers from her garden upon arrival and treated to fresh greens and veggies throughout our stay. She offered tips in terms of places and activities available in the area.

We will definitely return to the Berkshires, and the Farmhouse would be our first choice for our home-away-from-home!

A fabulous place to gather

  • 5 of 5

A group of six former college friends rented Elaine's farmhouse for a weekend reunion and birthday celebration. Elaine greeted us warmly with fresh flowers and greens from her garden and helpful information about the area. The house is wonderfully appointed with tons of dishes, decent knives, flour, sugar and spices, paper and cloth napkins, and games and books. There was absolutely nothing we needed that we couldn't find in the house! The screen porch is heavenly, the gardens beautiful, and the neighborhood quiet. Elaine was extremely helpful and available as she lives and works next door. We'll definitely keep Elaine's farmhouse on our list for future reunions or family vacations.

Serene and inviting farmhouse in the Berkshires

  • 5 of 5

This lovely place was home for us for a weekend in June. Our group of six fit nicely in this charming home with plenty of room to spare. The kitchen worked perfectly for our needs. The dining room was wonderful in that both the room and the table are of good size and we never felt crowded. The back screened porch was great to sit out on with a glass of wine and we enjoyed a great view of the backyard gardens and mature trees - Bedrooms were nicely decorated and comfortable . There a two bathrooms with showers on each floor so that was very convenient for us. This home was immaculate and offered us privacy if needed. Having the linens provided was great and if staying for an extended time this house offers the convenience of a washer and dryer. All in all this was a wonderful place to stay – only wish we could have stayed all week! PS ... Check out the pottery shop – there are some lovely things offered.
