About Liviu Marhao

Owned by Eagle Nests Homes, a family investment My name is Liviu Marhao and I am the builder and part owner of the house. In 2006 I took a trip to Mountain Air and our family fell in love with the location. We decided that this is the perfect place to build a retreat for our family. I combined my many years of expertise in building custom homes with advanced technologies with the passion of designing and building this retreat to last for generations. Hundreds of hours were spent in research and 18 months in supervising the project, giving much attention to overall quality, choice of materials, architectural details and the highest level of craftsmanship. This is the place where our family comes together to regroup, relax, spend time away from the hectic life and enjoy nature and each others. We would like you to have the same opportunity, you will not be disappointed!

Liviu Marhao purchased this villa in 2008

Great Thanksgiving with family!

  • 5 of 5

We took our children & grandkids to Burnsville for a Thanksgiving holiday. The weather was beautiful, enjoyed Linville Falls and caverns, shopping in downtown area, mountain trails, s'mores on fire pit, and spending time together. This home provided great accommodations for our large group. Kitchen well equipped & living areas very comfortable. Lots to do for kids ages 17-4. Would recommend this home for any occasion.

Beautiful Disaster. Lots of electrical issues and things were broken/out of order

  • 3 of 5

First of all let me say that the owner was great with accommodations and communication prior to our trip. The location is amazing, the views breathtaking. The home was gorgeous. However, many things were not as described. There was no hot tub at the home, 2 of the 3 jacuzzi tubs were out of order and the remaining one that did work when turned on shot out black mold and bugs all in the bath water. Unfortunately I ( the bride ) experienced that disaster. We had a small wedding at his home. A lot of the outlets in the home would overheat when plugged in, and a lot of the outlets didn't work. Be careful with the banister outside of the kitchen on the second level as It is only hanging on by a thread. Most of the bulbs in the light fixtures were burnt out. The main room had 1 bulb left. Lots of dust and webs throughout the house. The pool table was all but destroyed when we arrived. The felt was severely damaged. That was really disappointing.

The beds were the best part of this stay. It was like sleeping on a cloud. If you are looking for a house to host a huge crowd with low expectations this is it just beware of the things listed above. Hopefully they all get fixed soon.

For the money we spent on this house for 3 days everything should've been pristine. Maybe that money can go towards repairs for future visitors.

Owner's Response: We are sorry for some minor inconvenience you experience in our house however we have to address that for the money you spent you could hadrly rent any venue for few hours not 3 days. This will make us think twice if we have to allow any more weddings at our house. We never advertise a hot tub so this is a non issue. All 3 jacuzzy were cheked and are working fine one was off somebody may have turn it off before and we fix the faucet that was loose We have more than 200 light bulbs in our house so missing some lights on a tall chandelier is not missing light. We have replace all 8. Cans longest few months ago with powerfull LED so that chandelier is more like decoration at this point. Will continue to improve based on our suggestions Thanks Liviu Marhao CEO Eagle Nests Homes LLC

Unbelievable experience at a 5 star Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Can't say enough good things about our time at Liviu's! Spectacular views. Expansive house with three large levels (big enough for a big family retreat...where everyone had enough space to relax and not feel cramped). Pure luxury. Close enough to Asheville to visit, but far enough away to be away from it all and completely unplug. Liviu took great care to ensure we had a tremendous experience. Would highly recommend!!

Luxury Living where its a lot cooler than Columbia SC

  • 5 of 5

Had family reunion in the mountains for 4 daughters, 3 husbands and 5 grandchildren. After 5 straight years at the beach, this was by far the easiest and best vacation for me. Everything I did was on the first floor, moving in was a breeze, the accommodations were everything anyone could want. Have stayed in some pretty nice rentals which cost a lot more beachfront is way high), but this home was solidly built.

The owner was just finishing cleaning with his wife, father & son and I enjoyed talking to them while the cleaning was completed. They gave us a nice bottle of wine, chocolates and awesome home made bread.

Did not find the roads a challenge as my 2.7 liter F-150 had more than enough power and I have driven in the mountains before. I can see where some low powered economy cars might have some trouble.

The highlights of the trip were eating gourmet meals together, taking 4 of the kids caving, going to Mount Mitchel, hiking the trails near the rental, going to Asheville to buy chocolate from the Chocolate Fetish, and observing stars on the last night when we had clearing skies.

Next year will be back at the beach for us and in 2 years we plan to be back in the mountains. I certianly will consider rentin

There is plenty of stuff to cook with, but if you are in to cooking a big meal for the clan here are a few suggestions which will make your stay better.

Bring the following if these are important to you:

- extra towels and hand towels

- dish towels

- your good knives

- microwave bowls and lids

- your good grilling tools

- your special spices

- paper plates, cups, napkins, paper towels and TP.

- anything special you use like cheeze cutter and zester

There is a very well equipped Ingles 10 minutes away and the Owner provided us with a Ingles card, but who wants to spend their valuable vacation time shopping. I always bring this stuff with me so I do not have to go looking for it or do without.

There is a complete set of very comfortable folding chairs in the garage which were great for my wife and I (we have back issues). They sell them at my local Sams Wholesale and I will probably pick up a bunch for sitting on my deck.

I would be glad to stay here again. Livio is a good person and an excellent host. He personally managed the construction of this fine property including the custom made windows which open 2 different ways and the doors. You will see many examples of fine craftsmanship and good design throughout the home
