Chris and I live on the same property about 400 feet away from the Casita, the Casita and our home cannot be seen from each other. Chris, my husband is a custom home builder so both homes were custom built by us. We have lived here for 43 and it just gets better every day. We have one horse and two mules Chris does pack trips as a hobby. This property was part of a 1000 acre working ranch, the old ranch house is still being lived in and has been recently re-modeled. It is a beautiful place to live We have 2 sons 2 daughter-in-laws and3 Grandchildren.

This property is in a unique area, with amazing views, peace and quiet yet not to far from everything (11 Miles to Tucson) there are hiking, biking, and horse trails, abundant wildlife all right at your finger-tips. This is the perfect place to kick your feet up and relax or go for a walk in the wash and find Indian pottery, or visit an old homestead.
The first time I saw this area it was instant love, there are 4 Mtn. ranges all visible from any room in the Casita, amazing sun-sets from the balcony, we always see wildlife, and above all the serenity that this area brings to you. Not to mention the beautiful hand crafted touches that the Casita offers, open beams in the kitchen, dining and living room the beautiful stone fireplace, have all be chosen and hand crafted and built by us.
What a great place to stay! I travelled from Seattle to meet up with a friend from New York. We both appreciated that the Casita is out away from all the traffic of Tucson. We particularly enjoyed the very dark nights and the super quiet mornings with just bird sounds. The Casita had everything my friend and I needed - plenty of space, each bedroom having access to a porch area so we could each have private time. My friend and I appreciated all the details - comfortable furniture, spices in the kitchen, coffee bean grinder!, washer and dryer, soft towels. And the Views! It was like staying in a botanical garden. Thank you!
The Casita in the desert is fantastic! If you are looking for a place to get away from the grind, this is the place. From the moment we walked in the front door we knew we had come to the right place. Super quite, amazing view of the surrounding area. That night sky is breathtaking, the star gazing is second to none. We absolutely loved our stay and are planning to return as soon as we can
This was a wonderful place to stay if you don't mind being a little out of town and we didn't mind at all. The house itself is gorgeous as is the setting where you have wide open views of desert and mountains, and the sunsets and sunrises will keep you busy working your cameras. Even though we had come from a rural area, the silence here was incredible. Our hosts, Pat and Chris, were most welcoming and always there for all our needs.
This was an experience that far exceeded our expectations. Pat and Chris were incredible hosts. The property is about as comfortable a place as you'll ever find. We wish we had more time to enjoy the local attractions, and spend more time at the casita. We were able to cook a lot of our meals there and the well stocked cupboards were a welcome surprise. As was the welcoming gift. We look forward to coming back sometime to our little home away from home.
I've always wanted to stay in a pueblo-style home and this Casita was NOT a disappointment. But beyond the wonderful accommodations, we really enjoyed being surrounded by beautiful desert and mountains and being able to relax on any of three sides of the Casita and enjoy the views and peace and relaxation! My husband and I really grew to love the desert! Thank you both for your hospitality and always making sure that everything was taken care of. Two months VERY well spent!!

What a great place to stay and for such a reasonable price! My husband & I spent 4 nights here during the month of April and would highly recommend this rental property to anyone planning on staying in the Tucson area. After a day of hiking or golfing we couldn't wait to get back to our little casita and relax with a drink in one of the many outdoor sitting areas. Our favorite spot was in the two chairs under the flag that overlooked the neighboring properties. So peaceful and quiet, and such beautiful sunsets. This casita has everything from a well stocked kitchen, laundry facilities, 2 full bathrooms, a comfy king bed in the master, not to mention the extras like the flashlights, telescopes, spices, soaps, toothpaste, toilet paper, detergents, etc... Not sure we've ever stayed in a place that supplies so much, certainly not for this price! Thanks so much Pat for the treat we discovered upon arrival and for the wonderful homey accommodation. As far as the 10 minute drive into the place on a dirt road, I don't really feel it would be a problem for any type of vehicle as long as you take it slow, and as far as I'm concerned, it's worth going twice as far on a not so perfect road just to stay at a place like this!
Colossal Cave is 4miles from the Casita, Rancho Del Largo has a beautiful golf course and resturant that is also about 4 miles from Casita.
About an hr drive is Tombstone (the town to tough to die) Bisbee (a beautiful mining town and the famous Copper Queeen hotel) a great place to visit.
There are Wine tasting places all the way there:) along with some beautiful scenery.
