The family great room is open for social gatherings, with a large fireplace and a spacious and fully stocked kitchen. Pool & patio doors can open up completely for an indoor/outdoor feel. Enjoy the negative edge pool & spa with 180' views of the Texas Hill Country and its artistically painted skies. There are panoramic views from Every room in this luxurious custom home, shaded by three-sided porches.
We are an Austin family of six who always dreamed of having that space in the country to let the children run and play, free from worry and plenty of room for imaginations to roam.
Beth Cunningham purchased this chateau / country house in 2001
We chose this idyllic location because it was private but easily accessible from our home in Austin. At night, the cool breezes, breathtaking Texas sunsets and the quiet, star-filled skies are irresistible. This is the place to re-charge!
Less than a hour from the city, we discovered native Texas at its best:
The only sounds at this secluded hill country location are the cicadas, whiporwills and bullfrogs at sunset.
The only lights visible at night come from the moon and stars.
A few days and nights here and it is hard to return to civilization!
Twenty minutes from restaurants & shopping at the Hill Country Austin Galleria; 60 minutes from Austin Bergstrom & 90 minutes from San Antonio International airports.
I went with a group of girlfriends to relax the weekend before my future sister-in-law's wedding. The house is STUNNING and we didn't even feel the need to leave the ranch despite our earlier plans to hop around hill country. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to visit again in the future.
This was our second time to stay at Cunningham Ranch and we were just as pleased this time around. Very clean, plenty of towels, dishes, and the like. I planned our stay for those dates because I wanted the kids to see the night sky full of stars. We were fortunate to get 3 nights of cloudless, dark sky. Our first trip, we explored the area attractions. This trip, we knew that we had less time and none of us really wanted to leave the property! We did leave to eat at the italian restaurant close to the ranch and found the food very good. All of us enjoyed laying on floats in the pool and just taking in the views, the peace and quiet, and watching the hummingbirds as they buzzed around right next to us. The property has so many areas to explore and enjoy. There is a spectacular view from another hilltop close to the house, and there you usually see the BIGGEST rabbits running around! We saw deer, rabbits, pigs, lots of hummingbirds, and enjoyed the sunsets that brought the animals out to play and graze. The only thing I would change, is I would love to have blinds of some kind in the master bedroom. Otherwise, Beth and Kelly have made this another perfect little getaway, and they are always very hospitable.
We have a group of friends from Austin that plan a Staycation each year. This year we stayed at the Cunningham Ranch and it was amazing. The kitchen is perfect for cooking meals, the pool area was beautiful and there was plenty of living and bedroom space.
The property is very quiet and private and also very close to Austin. We loved the house so much we want to book it again next year.
We took our son and a few of his friends to the Cunningham Ranch to celebrate his birthday. This property has something for everyone. The custom home is immaculate and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. We were surprised there were no washcloths to be found, so bring your own. But in the grand scheme of things....really? No washcloths? Um, still 5 stars. :)
The boys had a great time fishing and caught several big mouth bass and croppie. The infinity pool overlooking the pond and hills was a wonderful retreat. The water was so cold and we loved the 8 foot depth. The deer were plentiful. The seating on the deck made for a beautiful view in the morning while sipping coffee.
Inside, the pool table kept the attention of the boys for hours. The loft was the perfect size to fit all of the boys. The kitchen was amazing and don't even get me started on the warming drawer. It was a life saver when the whole meal wasn't quite ready. The huge island was perfect setting for our birthday celebration starring a five foot ice cream sundae. Plenty of room for all of the boys to gather around with their spoon in hand.
All-in-all we had a fabulous time. Wish we could have stayed a few more days. No one wanted to leave.
This home was perfect for our group of women who like really nice "digs" but prefer privacy as to not bother any neighbors. The kitchen had everything we needed, the infinity pool was fabulous and the views were over the top! It's close enough to so many towns (Marble Falls, Fredericksburg, Austin) and vineyards that there is always something to do. And watching the deer every evening feeding in the pastures was a bonus. This is a lovely and restful place to hang your hat for a while.
A week before our trip I lost my sister to cancer. The Ranch provided our family a great place to spend peaceful family time together in the hill country . We have rented many vacation homes , this one is several steps above most decorated beautifully. It provided everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. Our grand children loved watching the deer, jack rabbits ,squirrels and hummingbirds .We hope to make the Ranch a yearly destination to recharge .
