About Sally Howard

I purchased 304 when the owner told me he was going to sell. I'd been visiting Santa Fe for about 3 years and always stayed in 304. It took me seconds to make the decision.

I typically drive to Santa Fe once a year around April/May and spend a month and then in either Sept/Oct or Christmas I'll fly down for a shorter visit. I cannot imagine just visiting once - there is so much to see and do. One of my best times was when I walked from Alameda and St. Francis through neighborhoods and the city taking pictures of Santa Fe 'art'...doors, gates, fences, mailboxes. It's amazing how art permeates every inch of Santa Fe. Don't miss the overpasses and retaining walls on Highway 84/285 going North.

I live in Boise, Id, most of the time, and moved in 1970 from St. Louis. It became home the minute I arrived. When I'm asked 'where did you grow up' and standard reply is 'I grew up in Boise and moved there when I was 30'. It's so true! Santa Fe and Boise are oddly similar in weather and convenience. Boise also has a ski area 16 miles away and great outdoor activities. I recommend visiting Boise too.

Sally Howard purchased this condo in 1993

Why Sally Howard chose Santa Fe

It's home, it's comfortable and it's convenient! DeVargas Mall is just across the highway has everything you need - grocery store, Hastings, great Pizza shop, movie theater, dress shops, drug store, excellent restaurants, etc. Taos, Opera and Tesuque are just north.

I've made it 304 home and hope you'll feel the same. If there is something more that you think it needs just let me know.

What makes this condo unique

My favorite thing about 304 is the balcony and the view. I have seen more rainbows from the balcony in Santa Fe then all of the rest of my life combined. The cloud formations that pass over are truly amazing. Oddly, I like the original wood furniture (dining table, coffee table). I'm comfortable putting my feet on the coffee table. I've taken the old dining room chairs and put them on the balcony for extra seating.

Very nice except for noise from highway.

  • 4 of 5

Wonderful New Mexico decor. Very comfortable space. Well equipped kitchen. Nice beds and bedding. Dog park is close. However we could not sit out on the "porch" due to the highway noise even though the view is beautiful.

Owner's Response: That darn noise from the highway... but thank goodness the view is really great. I'm just happy we're on the 3rd floor and that it is quiet in the condo. The dog park is the best and largest that I've ever seen. Unfortunately, my chihuahua could care less! I, on the other hand, really enjoy walking around there. Thank you for your comments on the décor - I've tried to make it comfortable and in keeping with Santa Fe.

Comfortable condo, great location

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. This condo was in a very convenient location. The condo is clean and well decorated. The beds are comfortable. You could tell the owner made a point to include everything in the condo that she thought visitors would need. The home felt very comfortable. We felt at ease and at home here.

Santa Fe Adventure

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful time we had on our stay in Santa Fe! Sally's condo was more than we expected. It was beautifully furnished and many amenities were provided. She also gave us some great ideas about where to eat and what to see while we were in Santa Fe. If we ever return to Santa Fe, we will definitely stay at this condo again if it is available. We loved the condo and the city!

The red roof in the distance is (we learned), the former Indian Technical School

  • 5 of 5

This third-floor condo (with elevator) had everything we needed-- really like being home but in new surroundings. High-end, high thread count bed linens and great mattress; wonderfully equipped kitchen and warm, lovely decor. A highlight was the very private balcony, which served us well for morning coffee and evening wine. The view of the 55,000 graves in the National Veterans' Cemetery and distant mountains was dramatic, the only downside was traffic noise from the highway that runs alongside the complex, most noticeable during morning and evening commutes. Overall, a nearly perfect stay.

Owner's Response: The National Veterans Cemetery is both beautiful and sad. I wonder how many graves there were on my first trip to Santa Fe in 1990. I'm happy you enjoyed the balcony. There is definitely noise from the highway, during those peak hours, but the view and privacy has always made it worth it to me. I will be in Santa Fe tomorrow and I'm so looking forward to it. It never gets old.

Great Place to Unwind

  • 5 of 5

This condo had everything we needed to feel comfortable. We especially appreciated how close it was to the Frank Ortiz off-leash dog park and it's close proximity to the plaza. We look forward to staying here again!

Owner's Response: Thank you. I'm delighted that you found it comfortable because that's exactly the experience what I hope my visitors will have. I'll be there next week and, as always, I'm looking forward to the beauty and uniqueness of Santa Fe. It will be a short visit but enough time to re-stock the condo and visit my favorite restaurants.

Comfortable and convenient.

  • 5 of 5

Very private and very rich and warm in her colors. The view of the montains each morning and evening was a bonus. Very easy to get to Plaza.

Owner's Response: I think it's the red couch that makes it warm and inviting. It was in my office and when I retired I sent it to Santa Fe! The view is what I miss the most when I return to Boise, but I'm happy that so many people enjoy it too. Thank you for your kind comments.
