Secluded & quiet Akers Pond get away, fabulous mountain views.

Bedrooms 3
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 1 - 3 nights

About the property

3 bedroom, 1 bathroom with shower stall, sleeps 6, pet friendly

Located at the end of the road, it's very private & quiet. It overlooks Stump Cove, which is un-swimmable. Akers Pond, however, is easily accessed by kayak or small boat or a short walk to one of it's public beaches. Included for use are two kayaks, an aluminum row boat and a paddle boat. There are plenty of life preservers available for use while boating. Relax on the deck, by day, to enjoy fabulous mountain views, as well as wildlife. You'll be certain to hear the soothing call of the loons during the season. By night, sit by the cove's edge and enjoy the firepit.

Winter season offers great activities, as well. One highlight is that you can hit the trail with your snowmobile directly from the cabin. And, there are many cross country ski trails in the area.

A sunroom, with a sliding door to the deck, faces the cove. There are two tvs with 'satellite', one in the living room and one in the first floor bedroom. The first floor bedroom has a queen sized bed. The second floor has two bedrooms, one has a full sized bed, the other has two twin sized beds. Both upstairs rooms have skylights & ceiling fans. The bathroom has a stall shower, no tub.

Please note that there is sketchy cell service at this location. The Errol Public Library, on Main Street, offers free wifi 24 hours a day.

Heidi & Mike,

Thank you so much for sharing your cozy home with us. We had a great time snowmobiling. The direct access to the trails made it very convenient. The view of the cove is beautiful! We had a wonderful stay and hopefully we can come back soon!

Thank you so much!

Kitchen, dining & living room are open concept. There are four TV tables, if needed. We have a portable screen 'tent' which fits on to the deck. A fire pit sits close to the waters edge. Included for use are two kayaks, an aluminum row boat and a paddle boat. There are plenty of life preservers for use while boating. Please note that smoking is allowed outside only. Offering a relaxing, comfortable and reasonably priced vacation has always been our goal. Our personal touch, by being certain our guests actually experience that, has always been very important to us. With the “new” HomeAway, requiring on-line booking, thus adding high service charges, we feel we cannot offer our reasonable rates and personal touch any longer. As such, we will not be renewing our membership on HomeAway beginning in July, 2018. At some point, we hope to offer our cabin on an alternate web-site. Until then, we hope our repeat guests spread the word of our wonderfully quiet, pet friendly cabin.

Great Place

  • 5 of 5

I've been staying there twice a year since 2013 and have yet to have anything but a super time .

The Cabin is located in a very quite place Heidi has been a awesome host always checking in to see if i needed anything. Grilling on the porch one winter at -17 with a 25 mile an hour wind even than couldn't have been more fun. Great place to stay would recommend this place to anyone who want's to get away and relax a really top notch place and run excellent by Heidi.

Great snowmobile destination

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was very nice , it was clean and had everything that we needed to be comfortable. Spent most of our time out snowmobiling but it was a warm and cozy cabin to come back to at the end of the day. Heidi was a very nice and accommodating , she even called to check on us to make sure that we were all set. Would defiantly stay again.

Absolutely PERFECT! Exceeded our expectations!!!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I decided to do something different this Thanksgiving holiday because neither of our sons could come home, My dad died this year, so between the two of us we do not have any parents alive, so I went on-line to find some place we hadn't been to before that would be private and permit us to bring our two dogs! Well, we found the absolutely PERFECT place! This beautiful "cabin" is in a lovely location - right on a pond, very quiet and private, house is so well equipped - the kitchen has all the utensils - beautiful plates, glasses etc., Large accommodating stove/oven & refrigerator for all of our Thanksgiving treats I brought with me, even some condiments were available! The living room has comfortable furniture, (we didn't use the sun room or even the grill on the nice deck cause it was quite chilly), but our bed was super comfortable, (there are 3 bedrooms but we only used one so we just closed up other two to save heat!) but the house heats up very quickly! The Washer & Dryer is in the basement & is really "Top of the Line"! We enjoyed making a fire in the fire pit next to the pond one night and it was glorious with all the stars!! We went for a hike in Dix Notch state park one day then went east to hike in the Grafton State park across the border into Maine. Both easy drives to get to and views were super nice! The falls & Flume were all beautiful with the ice hanging off the edges and water flowing down. Just relaxing reading, playing board games, or watching some TV was so serene! On our way out, we stopped at the few stores in Erroll and surprisingly found a couple Xmas gifts for friends and met some of the local people who ware so friendly! Best of all was meeting Heidi - the owner -in person! She is terrific and would respond quickly back to us before we came up there, was there to greet us upon our arrival, gave us the tour, and reviewed expectations....she is so welcoming, accommodating, friendly, and even gave us a quick call the next day to be sure everything was OK! If you are looking for a quiet get away..I HIGHLY recommend this place! We cannot wait to return! Thanks, again, Heidi!!!!Happy holidays to you and your family!

Amazing North Woods Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I were looking for an amazing North Woods getaway and this quiet, secluded cabin was exactly what we were looking for. We spent 3 days in this beautiful cabin that over looks the lake. I'll be honest at first, I was hesitant staying at this cabin as my girlfriend and I were really looking for a weekend away, traveling the North Woods by ATV. The no direct ATV trail access was initially a game changer. We, however, decided that we would try it out anyway. It was perfect. Their are many different areas to access the trails with a short trailer trip away. What we found out is that we could leave our trailer and ATV at Log Haven 2-3 miles down the road for the length of our stay. As close to direct access as you could possibly get. Now we found out this little trick the cabin was just perfect. Plenty of room, very clean and a lot to do. We traveled to Pittsburg the first day on the ATV and down to Berlin the second day. We used the kayaks that were at the house as well as the paddle boat around the beautiful lake. We enjoyed fires at night by the water. We were even able to see a big moose up the road on route 26. Plenty of things to do including hunting, fishing and hiking. You will never be bored, that I can guarantee! We highly recommend staying at this cabin for a getaway. Would easily sleep 6 people comfortably. Heidi was very nice and pleasant to deal with. I will definitely be returning to this cabin when the next ATV season opens up. For those who snowmobile, you can access the trails directly from the cabin.

If you book this cabin, I can guarantee you will enjoy every minute of your stay. It was tough to pack up and pull away! Looking forward to next season.....

The cabin is located at a dead end, on Stump Cove, around a corner from Akers Pond. It is very private for these reasons. There is no end to hiking, biking, 4 wheeling, swimming, boating, as well as down hill and cross country skiing & snowmobiling in and around the area. You can park your trailer and then snowmobile to the trail system directly from the cabin.
