Meridian (Formerly known on this site as Castaway) is another of the gorgeous Port Elliot homes owned and operated by the Philip and Wendy in an Australian family business trading under the name of Encounter Holiday Rentals.

Meridian is a two bedroom beachfront home for up to 5 guests, with a sparkling bathroom with spa and a secure backyard with lawn. All linen supplied. Meridian is spotlessly clean & professionally serviced on your departure.

Stroll to the historic township and Horseshoe Bay. Just cross the road for direct beach access. This Port Elliot holiday rental has it all.

Meridian is perfect for wedding guests, family holidays and romantic escapes.

Relax on the balcony or sitting on the gorgeous leather lounge furniture soaking up panoramic sea views from Port Elliot to Victor Harbor.

Dine inside in air conditioned comfort or feel the breeze as you relax on the balcony.

The holiday home has many features for your entertainment including a PLASMA TV, books, magazines, a DVD/Video player and an extensive video library.

For your comfort, we have installed a large R/ C Air-conditioning unit upstairs which also flows downstairs .

Meridian has a brand new fully equipped kitchen with a Miele dishwasher, European appliances, a family sized fridge and filtered water on tap.

Lovely downstairs bathroom with a spa and a walk-in shower, (perfect for older guests and children).

Two bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and the other with three single beds (no bunks). Both bedrooms have ceiling fans to take advantage of sea breezes and in winter there is additional downstairs heating by heat bank. There is also a port a cot at Meridian for the little one in your family.

Meridian has undercover off street parking and is generally pet friendly for one small companion pet. (Conditions apply: we are unable to host pet stays during summer school holidays due to an agreement with neighbours).

During your stay enjoy the complimentary kitchen, bathroom and laundry amenities supplied for your use.

We were very impressed by the Meridian. It was spotless and well maintained and the view overlooking the beach was absolutely breathtaking!! A prime location to enjoy a relaxing weekend away. The Meridian was close to shops, restaurants and the beach, we enjoyed beautiful days taking in the breeze off the beach from the upstairs balcony. The owners were very helpful in the lead up to our stay, making the booking process very easy. Overall a fantastic, relaxing getaway in the stunning Meridian! Thank you Wendy and Philip!

Comfortable and Spotless holiday house

Thank you so much for our restful stay at your comfortable and spotless Meridian guest house. After a stressful year with family and work commitments, it was a joy to find ourselves right on the sea front with a wonderful view, and to open the windows wide to enjoy the glorious sound of the waves. We really loved the walks along the cliff paths to Horseshoe Bay and were pleased to discover tiny Green Bay, which was completely enclosed, and because it was totally deserted, we let our little dog off the lead to rush about and bite the waves, as you do! It was so nice to be able to take him with us and to be permitted to bring him inside. My only complaint was that our stay was much too short, my own fault, as I had to get back to work the long weekend in my bookshop back in the Barossa Valley. We would love to return for a longer stay, perhaps in winter, when we enjoy the atmosphere of the beach every bit as much.

Ideal holiday location

The Meridian is an extremely comfortable & impeccably clean townhouse.

It provides everything you require to live in & enjoy the fantastic ocean views.

With undercover parking; you can leave your car & walk to shops, restaurants, bakery & of course the beautiful swimming beach at Horseshoe Bay. A bike track is easily accessible leading to Victor Harbor & Goolwa.

Meridian....perfect accommodation and location!

We have returned to Meridian many times, short and longer stays (all seasons), they have all been excellent. If you are looking for somewhere to relax, enjoy the views, short walking proximity to local shops/eateries/safe swimming, this is the place. Many easy walking trails in the area with stunning views of the sea/cliffs. Overlooking beautiful Knights Beach and Victor Harbor in the distance. Stunning sunsets & lights of Victor Harbor at night & can hear the crashing waves on the beach at night. We have always found Meridian to be very well maintained and spotlessly clean. Recently newly appointed kitchen has everything you need. Wendy and Philip are very helpful and always respond promptly to phone/email enquiries. Enjoy the beautiful views of the Fleurieu Penin

Castaway is the perfect place to stay when visiting the Fleurieu Peninsula.

We have stayed at Castaway two years in a row now. The first time we stay 2 nights, and we wished we stayed longer. The second time we made sure that we stayed an extra night. When it came time to leaving, we wished we had stayed longer.

Castaway is a clean, well maintained apartment. It is a two bedroom apartment, however, we only needed the main bedroom and we were only charged for using the one. This was really good as we were only charged for what we used. It is a fully furnished apartment and they provided us with all the necessities in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen which made it feel like our home away from home for the short time that we were there. The photos that are provided on website are very accurate and we were not disappointed when we arrived.

From the booking process to arriving at the apartment, the customer service of the owners was very professional. They were very helpful when it came to providing information about pricing, and was approachable with any questions we had.

Castaway is very central and only a 10 minute drive to Victor Harbour and a 10 minute drive to Goolwa. Castaway is 5 minute walk to Horseshoe Bay, or 10 minutes if you want an scenic walk along the rocks. It is a 5 minute walk to the Main Street where there is a variety of places to eat; including the Cockle Cafe which is a must for lunch.

We would defiantly recommend Castaway to friends and family and anyone who is looking to have a relaxing and picturesque holiday.

A perfect base for a Pt Elliot holiday!

Fantastic stay as always at an EncounterHolidayRentals property. Everything was easy to find, clean and well presented. The property is in an ideal location for a quick walk to Pt Elliot centre, as well as Horseshoe Bay. It is a cliff walk, but only a couple of minutes, to Knights Beach which is at the doorstep. Property was easy to find, the owner was always accessible if we had questions and other than a bit of a shortage of parking (we had two cars and there is only one car park, and the street gets very busy) we had literally no complaints. All in all a perfect stay. Really fantastic that the property not only supplies linen but also many of the "basics" like dishwashing tablets, wraps/foils etc.

Great location

Castaway is a comfortable unit in a great location. The site matches the descripton given. You are paying a bit more for the view, but it's a really good view.

It overlooks Knight's beach, and you can hear the surf easily. Closing the balcony doors made it quiet at night if you wanted, but we kept the door to the balcony cracked open by an inch and enjoyed the sound. The balcony is off the main bedroom, and is small, but big enough for 2 to sit and enjoy the view with a drink. My wife spent hours sitting out there watching the body boarders in the surf.

The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the bathroom had plenty of hot water.The unit was very very clean and tidy, although a few small spots are due for a paint touch up, but nothing major. The kitchen had everything we needed in it, but we were not cooking major meals. (The Pt Elliot hotel is a short walk, and there are good evening meals there. We found that a main course without extras or entree was plenty to eat).

Both upstairs and downstairs split aircons worked well and quietly. The unit has good wide stairs to get between floors, but you may want to reconsider this unit if you have hip or knee problems, as there is no downstairs bedroom. There are toilets on both levels, though. Most of the common areas are tiled, so take your thongs/slippers as the tiles get cold

Across the road is a walking path that is well surfaced and leads around the headland to a little cove. There are plenty of benches to sit on and enjoy the views.

Wendy and Philip were both in touch by email or phone calls, but we had no need to contact them once there, as there were instructions in the unit for everything.

If my wife and I wanted to stay in the Victor Harbour area again, I would be looking at staying at Castaway again.
