Beachcomber offers two queen sized rooms and one room with two single beds (no bunks). The beds are hotel quality ensembles, so comfortable! There is also a port a cot and fixed stair gate for the little one in your family.

Three couples in your group? No problem, as the single beds at Beachcomber can be converted to a king sized bed on request (a small charge applies). This provides two queen rooms and one king room, perfect for three couples. There are also two sparkling bathrooms at Beachcomber (one with a bath).

At Beachcomber enjoy the complimentary kitchen pantry, bathroom and laundry items supplied for your use.

Beachcomber also has fully secure off street parking and a safe fully fenced paved backyard for the little ones plus a BBQ and outdoor setting.

Beachcomber has a fully appointed kitchen with modern appliances, filtered water on tap and a Miele dishwasher. There is also spilt system reverse cycle air-conditioning, Plasma TV, Second TV, DVD/Video players and an extensive library of videos and books.

Beachcomber is a pet friendly home. Conditions apply. Pet stays are not available during the summer school holidays due to an agreement with neighbours.

Beachcomber is situated in the popular township of Pt Elliot right on the famous Horseshoe Bay. It is only a short stroll to the Flying Fish Cafe, and the coffee shops, restaurants and shopping of historic Port Elliot. All major shopping and facilities are minutes away by car.

Beachcomber Port Elliot is only a one hour drive from the capital city of Adelaide, Adelaide Airport and the Kangaroo Island Ferry Service. Try the many wineries in the area, or take a short half hour drive to the famous McLaren Vale vintners.

Stunning property with excellent views

Beachcomber is a fantastic house with super location overlooking Horseshoe bay. It is very well maintained with everything you could need for your stay. perfect for two couples with 2 bathrooms one upstairs and one down, also third bedroom so comfortably sleeps 6 We hope to stay again.

I would recommend Beachcomber, it is perfectly situated close to centre of Port Elliot as well as the beach. The bakery is great too !!

Exceeding Our Expectations!

From the moment we made our booking through to our wonderful holiday at Beachcomber, Port Elliot, our expectations were more than exceeded.

Owners of Encounter Holiday Rentals, Wendy and Philip, were an absolute delight - friendly, caring and clearly passionate about their holiday rentals. Wendy’s experience with guests requirements quickly allowed her to assess mine and she recommended the ideal house for us at Horseshoe Bay, Port Elliot. Helpful documentation all the way through answered every query and Philip was always as close as a phone call away should help be needed.

The highlight was to open the door of this delightful two storey house and find it spotlessly clean, fluffy white towels, quality linen, sets of crockery and saucepans, (none chipped or scratched) and everything in top working order eg TV and DVDs (yes - upstairs as well as downstairs), air-con, overhead fans, toaster, jug, games/DVDs for that rainy day we didn’t have etc. They had thought of everything - helpful compendiums of inventory and guidance for all equipment in the house.

There was nothing to do except unpack (loads of cupboard space/hangers) and enjoy the tranquillity of the blue/green interior décor which mirrored the azure sea across the road beckoning us for a swim. Topped off with breakfast on the balcony watching the sunrise over the ocean, glorious cliff top walks, great places to eat just minutes away and shopping for unique Christmas gifts in Port Elliot and close by Victor Harbour and Goolwa - and the weekend markets too - what a treat!

Thank you Wendy and Philip for a truly fabulous stay and your thoughtful follow up correspondence on our return - we look forward to returning next year.

PS One recommendation to potential guests - bring your binoculars - the ocean is alive with fascinating things to watch from the balcony - dolphins, schools of fish …and whales when migrating.

Long Weekend Holiday

My husband and I stayed for a long weekend at Beachcomber. From our first enquiry Wendy and Philip were most helpful. The property's presentation was first class. It was attractively furnished with a lovely balcony complete with barbecue. Even thought it was the beginning of winter we breakfasted on the balcony each day as it was sheltered from the weather. Our arrival and finding the keys was very smooth. All in all we would recommend this property to any prospective holiday makers. Thanks Wendy and Philip.

Beachcomber - a high quality holiday rental

Have just enjoyed a fantastic two nights at Beachcomber at Port Elliott due mainly to the very high standard of the holiday house, its location, cleanliness and the ocean views, which were much better that we expected. There was not anything that we wanted for in the house and we were impressed with the quality of the furniture and appliances etc. It was a pleasant surprise to find a lounge that was very comfortable; this is something we have found lacking in many other holiday rentals. The complimentary later checkout meant we did not have to rush the morning we left. Will definitely be going back to one of Wendy and Phil's holiday houses.

Horseshoe Bay is a protected swimming beach which is very popular with families during the long summer holidays. Take time to explore The Strand area with its many historic buildings, cafes, restaurants and shops.

Town Highlights

Crows Nest Lookout

This has to be the best seat in the house. Overlooking Goolwa, Middleton and some of Port Elliot these are some of the best views you will ever see.

Horseshoe Bay

Bring the family to this well known and highly regarded swimming beach. You can fish from the Jetty, watch the kids play in the Playground or go for a swim in this sheltered bay. Why not follow the rugged cliff around the coast and explore the little bays and beaches. Horseshoe Bay has been a favoured destination for visitors to the Fleurieu Peninsula for a long time come and experience this very popular destination.

The Strand

Wander the Strand and you will find yourself moving in and out of craft shops, old buildings and cafes. At the end of The Strand is the mighty Southern Ocean and a viewing point over the beautiful Horseshoe Bay. This is a great spot to view the passing Southern Right Whales in the Winter.
