Located in the heart of the Poconos, where the PA Turnpike (NE Ext) and Interstate 80 intersect, we are an easy 1.5 hour drive from Philadelphia, New York and New Jersey. Nestled in the woods adjacent to theLehigh Gorge State Park and the Lehigh River, you are surrounded by nature for biking, walking, hiking, fishing , white water rafting, golf, skiing, paintball, zip lining and so much more!

Our charming Log Cabin home sits on 2 private acres in the woods in the Poconos on the Lehigh River. You will enjoy relaxing on our huge deck overlooking the river & bike path! Watch and hear the Lehigh River rapids from the deck or hike directly to them. Bring your bicycles as our Pocono Log Cabin sits on the Lehigh Gorge State Park and ride 26 miles from end to end (White Haven to Jim Thorpe). Enjoy a picnic lunch, views of the river and many waterfalls along the way!

The cabin also has a wood-burning fireplace in the living room, a Jacuzzi tub in master bath, a Pool Table and Bar in our finished basement and an outdoor fire pit and charcoal grills!

Most of the rental houses in the Poconos are located in housing developments controlled by Homeowner Association. Our cabin is NOT in a development! We have no neighbors worried about you, ready to report you. You will feel secluded in the woods, but you are also just a mile from town for all the things you might need. We are one of just a couple log cabins located on the Lehigh Gorge State Park & Lehigh River.

Activities:

Lehigh River Gorge Trail is just steps away from our cabin - it's perfect for walking, biking, fishing, tubing, and rafting.

Lehigh Gorge State Park: Lehigh Gorge State Park contains 4,548 acres of land and about 30 miles of the Lehigh River. Recreational opportunities include: hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and whitewater boating. About 26 miles of abandoned railroad grade follow the river and are available to hiking and biking and provide access for hunting and fishing. Whitewater rafting is a major attraction of the park. This section of the Lehigh River is Class III whitewater and is popular for rafting, kayaking and canoeing. The rafters can be seen and heard from our deck!

Hickory Run State Park: (across the river from our cabin, approx 2 miles away) The 15,500-acre Hickory Run State Park, has over 40 miles of hiking trails, three state park natural areas and miles of trout streams. You must visit Boulder Field, a striking boulder-strewn area which formed 15,000 years ago! It is a National Natural Landmark.

We recommend our guests plan a day of swimming at their lake. It has a sand beach and concession areas, bathrooms and bar-b-q areas. It is open from late-May to mid-September.

Fishing:

The Lehigh River has warm-water game fish, trout and panfish. You can walk to the river from the house! Francis E. Walter Dam, just above White Haven, provides boating and angling for trout and warm-water game fish. All local State Parks have lakes & streams for fishing.

About Lance & Lisa

This is our home away from home. Living just 1.5 hours away lets us run to our cabin in the Poconos all the time for a quick get-away of outdoor activity. We love riding our bikes on the bike path & fishing!

Lance & Lisa purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Lance & Lisa chose Poconos

We bought this Pocono log cabin because we wanted a place close enough to drive to easily, we specifically wanted a log cabin, on a river, fishing and biking - this cabin had all we wanted and more! We grew up skiing at Jack Frost & Big Boulder so it's amazing to have a cabin so close! And the best restaurant in the Poconos is right across the street!

What makes this cabin unique

Most of the rental houses in the Poconos are located in housing developments controlled by Homeowner Association. Our cabin is NOT in a development! We have no neighbors worried about you, ready to report you. You will feel secluded in the woods, but you are also just a mile from town for all the things you might need. We are one of just a couple log cabins located on the Lehigh Gorge State Park & Lehigh River.

Our cabin has a short path down to the Lehigh Gorge State Park bike path and the Lehigh River. We pack a lunch and head out for a long bike ride every day we're there. White water rafting groups ride the river right in front of our cabin! Hickory Run State Park is also right across the river for summer swimming and hiking. The closest golf course, Mountain Laurel, is just 2 miles away across the river. Paintball and Zip Lining courses are just a short drive away. In the winter the bike path is great for cross country skiing, snow shoeing and snowmobiling and several ski mountains are a short drive away (Jack Frost, Big Boulder, Camelback, Blue, and Montage). It's truly a year-round vacation destination! We love it all year 'round!

Guestbook comments from the manager

Just hosted a 12 person bachelor party here and had a great time. The cabin was much bigger than expected and very nice. Plenty comfortable for sleeping 12 people and the grocery store is just a mile away if you forgot anything. Everyone told me constantly how impressed they were with the cabin and the trip in general. Lance and Lisa were a pleasure and delivered plenty of firewood for us before we got there. Joe Malloy's catering (crab boil, pig roast, bloody mary breakfast) was excellent and we enjoyed his shuttle service to our different events. The view from the huge balcony of the cabin was amazing and you could hear the river from it, very peaceful. It was also the perfect place for our 3 piece Cajun/Zydeco band Friday evening. The whitewater rafting trip through Pocono whitewater was excellent as well and we enjoyed visiting Jim Thorpe for a pub crawl one afternoon. The final morning the 3 of us that were still standing hiked down to the river for a cold plunge and sat on the rocks for a while taking it all in while waving at kayaks and rafters going by. Excellent trip on all fronts! Thank you Lance and Lisa!

The place is bigger than I actually thought. Very clean, lots of room for sleep. Perfect place.

  • 5 of 5

This place was great for a weekend getaway. Had a group of 13 guys and had enough room to sleep everybody. The ambiance was perfect. Loved hearing the sounds of the river on the back deck. Dual grills made it easy to feed a group of starving guys. Everyone from my party had nothing but great things to say about the rental. They really enjoyed themselves. The owners were really great to deal with. I'm not a man that's demanding on details or asks for a lot but Lance & Lisa were there to answer any questions and were attentive to any suggestions for activities in the area. We def would come back and stay here again.

Warning to buyers of large parties(nothing about the property): If you plan on taking taxis or Ubers places for the weekend, you might want to schedule them weeks in advance of your stay. We had a difficult time finding a car service to take us places due to a busy weekend schedule. Just a friendly tip for a party planner.

Winter getaway / Great Times / Superb Ownership

  • 5 of 5

To anyone reading this, you can stop looking for other rentals now! Our group of 12 had a fantastic 3 nights on President's day weekend at this cabin. The owners were extremely accommodating. One of the things that you might find throughout the Poconos, as a renter, is a good amount of "bad ownership", this of course referring to the Owners of rental properties who really don't care once you've paid your deposit in full. The Owners here (L. and L.) were amazing. They called me asking what they could do to make my stay more enjoyable. They made great recommendations for food and fun for our group. They were there when we needed them, no matter what time of day.

One of the things that sets this cabin apart from the rest is the location of the cabin, the fantastic views, the layout and ownership. The property was 100% clean and you could tell this is a year round maintenance operation. We really enjoyed the location of this cabin - close to everything. Contrary to some other locations, this cabin is far enough away, but close enough at the same time. For instance, you can have a late-night fire and conversation without disturbing any neighbors.

All in all, I have already told these fantastic owners of our plans to re-visit.

Best couples retreat

  • 5 of 5

First of all I would like to start by saying..thanks Lance and Lisa for providing just another great experience for Me and the other couples of our retreat! This is our second couples retreat and I tell...This cabin is second to none! As soon as you walk in the coziness of the cabin takes you somewhere else..you forget about the world you came from and enter into a dream. In this cabin you will want for nothing as everything is provided for you as the home itself. Beautiful as i remembrer..we had new couples this year and they were just blown away by the woodwork and just the whole vibe..Now they want to rent the cabin for their own family functions..As there wasnt much snow on the grown we enjoyed the walking trail directly behind the cabin along the beautiful Lehigh river biking and and jogging every morning. The cabin is in a perfect location for activities such as skiing, shopping, paintball courses, many bars and restaurants, grocery stores, and just anything else you might need. I definitely recommend this cabin for whatever your function may be and cannot wait until our couples retreat next year!! Again Thank you Lance and Lisa..Talk to you soon.

Great weekend away with friends!

  • 5 of 5

I found this property when searching for a secluded log cabin with loads of charm suitable for a group of 12-14 people. This place did not disappoint! As mentioned in the description, it is not located in a neighborhood, therefore privacy is not an issue. The house has a beautiful view of the Lehigh river from the large back deck. Additionally, there is a walking path just down the hill behind the house (it may actually be a road, but we took a nice long walk without encountering any vehicles or people.)

The house itself is the definition of cozy. The woodwork throughout the house makes for a rustic, homey, comfortable setting. There were 12 of us who stayed...all in our early to mid-30s. We all had plenty of room to peacefully coexist. While there, we mostly just lounged around and enjoyed each other's company. Those who went skiing mentioned that the ski resorts were only a short drive away. There are plenty of nearby activities if you want; yet, the house is so inviting that it's also perfect to lounge around, light a fire, drink some wine, and relax. In summary, this house perfectly suited our needs. Would highly recommend! Thank you, Lisa and Lance!

Awesome Cabin, Perfect Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect. Roomy, spacious, comfortable. It had a rustic feel, yet had all the modern amenities. My friends and I had a fantastic time hanging out both inside and outside of the cabin. We played pool, built a fire, relaxed on the deck, and enjoyed some great meals that were cooked in the kitchen. Lance and Lisa were more than accommodating, ensuring that we had everything we needed.

There really is a sense of remoteness with the cabin, but we were never far from grocery stores, liquor stores, restaurants, paintball, etc. I would book this cabin again in a heartbeat - whether for a bachelor party, a family vacation, or a relaxing weekend away.
