Wonderful family house fully furnished with all the amenities that you would expect in your own home. Built in 1904 and beautifully restored. Home has nice architectural details such as original plaster moulding, heart-pine hardwood floors, french doors opening to a wonderful porch where you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and experience new orleans like a new orleanian !!! Charming home in a classic neighborhood that is convenient to so many attractions such as Audubon park/zoo/golf course/tennis courts. The st. charles ave. street car is a short 3 block walk. Historic Magazine st. is only 6 blocks. Very convenient area with easy access to uptown (Tulane & Loyola universities), carrollton/riverbend, downtown/warehouse district & the historic garden district and french quarter. Hundreds of restaurants within a few minutes. The bedrooms are independent (THIS IS NOT A SHOTGUN HOUSE) and there is a sofa bed which allows for 2 more to sleep (house sleeps 6 total). washer/dryer is inside for your convenience. Home has a fully equipped kitchen with all appropriate cooking utensils, microwave, coffee pot and blender.

Historic, gorgeous home

This house is a nice location. Grocery across the street made breakfast easy. Large rooms, nice furniture and awesome art. We enjoyed the outdoor space. Pictures do not do it justice.

Lovely touch of New Orleans

We have stayed in this home several years and it never disappoints. Conveniently located to St. Charles and Magazine Streets, many shops, restaurants and sites are within walking distance. The home owner is friendly, helpful and responsive. This is our "go to" house when visiting New Orleans.

Great property !!

Best part is the wonderful grocery store across the street. Great fresh food slections...we bought ahead and had our black eye peas, cabbage and cajun dishes, sides and a day of relaxing and football. We will def rent on future trips.

Shabby chic

I would say that the last reviewer nailed it...a little shabby chic. The house is terrific. Great details architecturally and nicely decorated. Location terrific and loved the market across the street..and just short walk to Whole Foods and Magazine Street. Ok here are the hiccups: missing light bulbs in dining room chandelier so ran a across street to get 3. No light bulb in terrific master bath shower so a bit dark, knobs coming off stove and need new teflon frying pans that aren't missing teflon coating. Finally must remove shredded flag that greets you at front door! Could mention a few more things but would feel it was not in Holiday spirit. After saying all this I would return if family were with us as it does work well with kids.

Great location House Needs Fixing Up

We had a great time at this house because it is big and we did Thanksgiving there with our extended family.

This house could be really terrific as it has wonderful bones and a superb location. Yard is big and has an exterior kitchen but when we arrived it was dirty and unkempt looking. The interior was much cleaner but if you open the kitchen cabinets there was a layer of grime and disorder that made me feel a bit uncomfortable.

When I rent out my houses I always put all personal stuff locked away and make sure that all cabinets are extremely organized and orderly. No sticky funk on the surfaces, no dirty napkins shoved in a drawer nor half drunk liquor bottles hurled in the cupboard.

The dining room and exterior porch need attending to. Paint chipping and dead plants are not welcoming.

However there are good TV's in every room, nice clean towels, shampoo provided and the owner did come and clean the outside when asked.

For this place to get to 5 stars one would need to repaint, upgrade some of the furniture and really steam clean the interior big time.

The outside need two serious days of gardening and the rubbish (old defunct chairs) cleaned out.

The owner is nice and I do hope he'll put some more effort into this lovely home.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the info Doni. I intend to address all of these issues. The reason for the dead plants is that I received two water bills upwards of $1000 which we think is due to the automatic sprinkler system. We cannot find any leaks and the water board has been promising an investigation for over 5 months. We have had to shut down the sprinkler system as a result. I will have the cleaning crew work on the cabinets and other issues as soon as we have a break in occupancy. We will do everything possible to bring this property up to 5 star status as we want every guest to have the best experience possible! Thanks so much! Stephen

Incredible location with lots of amenities! Like walking across the street for groceries and down the block to a liquor store or two blocks to the streetcar!

My husband and I have been married for 10 years and have 3 young children, 6 yrs.,4 yrs., and 1 yr. we have had the pleasure of staying in countless B & B's, VRBO's and cabins. This property is hands down a 5-star experience. All the sheets, towels, linens, pillows and kitchen equipment are brand new. The house is as clean as it can be and best of all, it is clutter-free. Simply elegant and not meant for the Bourbon Street Rebel Rouser. True New Orleans Architecture. Great location!,
