This oceanfront treasure offers beach vacationing at its best.

An ideal home to escape to and relax on your veranda or play croquet on the sprawling lawn with family and friends.

Inside is the 1900's charm of the original bead board and hardwood floors, three bedrooms, kitchen, living and dining room, and two full baths, all with enchanting views of the sparkling Atlantic Ocean.

Family and guests have only a stroll along Ocean Avenue Ext. to Short Sands Beach and the many area restaurants and shops in downtown York Beach.

Awesome vacation home with a fabulous view!

We are from southern NH but currently live in California, Arizona, New York and New Hampshire! When we arrived the house was in pristine condition. On the first day we noticed that the wireless internet service did not work. Ed, was on it immediately. He contacted his carrier and got a repair date of Monday. Then Ed gave us access to the wireless in the house next door so we would not be without connection. Much to our surprise on Monday, Memorial Day, the repair occurred and we had super-fast connection for the rest of the week.

The place is right out of a magazine. The kitchen has all the utensils necessary to cook large meals and the gas grill will hold a ton of food! It even has a large lobster pot for cooking Maine lobsters or steamers.

The beds were comfortable with plenty of extra blankets and all the towels we needed for the week.

The Adirondack chairs on the porch made a nice spot for afternoon reading and across the street there were more Adirondack chairs offering a front row view of the ocean, Short Sands and sunsets.

We wished there was more parking. The house has space for 2 cars to park (or 3 tiny cars).

We cannot say enough about Ed. He was extremely helpful and accommodating. Throughout the entire process of getting a contract, sending deposits and then finally arriving, communication was quick and pleasant.

If you want a great house right on the water with a fabulous view, this is the house to rent. You will not be disappointed by the sunsets that you get to see every night either. The price is reasonable and the amenities are excellent plus it is very close to outlets, restaurants and anything else you’d need during a vacation. Thank you Ed for making our vacation a wonderful one with family and friends! We hope to be back soon.

Pristine, beautiful, charming, perfect location.

Upon our arrival, we found this beautiful home in pristine condition. It is even prettier than the pictures we viewed on-line. It is spacious, beautifully renovated and charming. The beds are nice and comfortable. We slept great. The front porch was enjoyed every day for hours at a time. It was the gathering place for our family. That view! The home is located in a quiet neighborhood, but is a short walk to Short Sands or Long Sands. The location is absolutely perfect. Ed could not have been nicer. We are grateful for having had the opportunity to stay in this lovely home. We hope to return again!

Fabulous place to spend 50th Anniversary vacation!

Here for 3 weeks to celebrate our 50th Anniversary with our children, grandchildren & great grandson. Everything was so perfect, from the beauty of the cottage with its amazingly updated features and its spectacular view from the front porch. It had all the comforts of home. Ed and Barbara were terrific and made sure we had happy at all times. Looking forward to returning next year.

Best vacation property you could imagine

We were so impressed with the home! It was truly a home away from home. We have stayed at other properties in York, and this home blows away all over vacation rentals. It is immaculate, has all the comforts of a real home and is newly renovated. The bathrooms and kitchen are modern, full size and make a huge difference for a traveling family. Ed and Barbara keep the home immaculate, well stocked with amenities and are very friendly. The front yard and porch are beautiful, and the short walk to the beach and town are picturesque. If we could, we would spend our entire summer at 51 Ocean Ave every year!

Wish we could have stayed all summer!

If we had our own beach cottage this is exactly where I would want it to be and what I would want it to look like! Great location! Easy walk to beach and town. Spectacular view of the ocean. Amazing sunsets! Great front lawn for kids to play on or if you like yard games like we do (Bocci Ball, Corn Hole, Ladder Ball, etc,) all while overlooking the ocean. Great sea breezes. House is super clean. Kitchen is brand new and bathrooms have obviously been recently remodeled. Working with owner/manager Ed was great! We will definitely be back!

My favorite rental in Maine!

This property really is my favorite rental in Maine! The ocean view from the front porch is stunning and the porch comes in handy for the occasional rainy day. The huge front yard is perfect for bbq-ing and lawn games. We stayed here before and loved it so much we decided to return not knowing they were in the process of renovating. About a week before our stay, we got an email saying the renovations were complete. We were blown away! The kitchen and dining/living areas were enlarged and completely modernized and another bedroom was added downstairs. The upstairs bedrooms and bath had been updated too. Everything was clean and well maintained. I liked that linens were included. It was one less thing we had to pack. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals at home.

The owner was very pleasant and easy to deal with. He promptly answered the many questions I emailed him in the months leading up to our stay. We got to meet him and his wife while we were there. They were so nice and friendly. It was a pleasure renting from them. They were so accommodating to all of our requests. At the end of our stay, I forgot to empty one of the dressers and they shipped everything back to us. Our security deposit was promptly refunded as well.

The location is perfect too. It is a short, easy walk down to town (restaurants, shopping, the arcade & amusement park) and Short Sands Beach. Long Sands is a little further (maybe a mile) but we walked there one day too or we would park in one of the daily lots. My husband enjoyed walking across the road from the house and fishing off the rocks. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful, comfortable home close to all area attractions. We have rented many houses in the area but I really do think this property is the best!
