About Ed White

My family loves Primehook Beach. The kids are growing up and their busy schedules keep us from going to the beach for the summer. I am a retired police detective and now own several small real estate related companies. We hope you will make this your home away from home.

Ed White purchased this cottage in 1998

Why Ed White chose Prime Hook Beach

This is a natural beach with no retail, hustle or bustle. This beach is a secret! We are close to all of the touristy resorts like Lewes, Rehoboth, Bethany, Dewey, Fenwick Island, and Ocean City. We are about 20 minutes from the Cape May Ferry (even though you can watch it cross the Delaware from the Beach House), and about 20 minutes from the Casino in Harrington. The best part of our beach, when you are here, nothing seems close until you leave. We have internet if you dare!

What makes this cottage unique

Our beach house is located directly on the beach. You can watch the abundance of wildlife as nature intended. There are no crowds...just wildlife and nature at its best!

Private, cute cottage

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a week's stay at this awesome place. Love the large fenced in yard for my crazy pups, waking at night to lit up ships in the distance. The windows gave such a great view of the ocean on colder days. The bedrooms are comfortable and cozy. The simplest thing like the bathroom shower just felt amazing. I walked the beach at least 5x a day putting horseshoe crabs back in the ocean, collecting the conch shells and checking out all the interesting things that wash up. You can have a fire on the beach at night and one night when the tide went out I literally was walking on the ocean floor checking out all the cool things that are there (except the giant crazy sand fleas :) ). I took many walks around the roads with my dogs as well and didn't run into anyone. This area is very private and away from anything commercial. The road winds through farmland and the Primehook Reserve. It is very interesting and truly amazing. I made trips into Lewes and Dewey Beach to check out the area. There are a lot of hidden cute restaurants and pubs. LOVED the Dewey Beer Company and The Backyard in Milton. Touch of Italy also had great pizza and desserts. Ed and his property manager , Jeremy were so unbelievably easy to work with, generous and addressed any issue I had. I had a great experience from booking the place to the very last day. Thank you Ed and Jeremy!!!!!!!!!

As usual, an amazing stay. Created amazing memories, feels like our second home.

  • 5 of 5

We love all the upgrades that were made since we were there several years ago. Our girls were already asking when we could come back, before we ever left. So much to do yet so private and peaceful. Great response to any questions or needs we had by the owner and his assistant. The only suggestions we would make would be small lamps in the sitting area and bedrooms and a rug for outside the shower, but that's just our preference. We would recommend this beautiful place to anyone that is looking for the perfect stay in the Prime Hook area.

Perfect beach house!

  • 5 of 5

Just stayed at this wonderful beach house last week with my husband and our pup. Later in the week my daughter-in-law and grandson joined us. The house is very clean and met all of our needs. If we weren't on the beach, we spent our time on the wonderful wrap-around porch, and with the windows open the bay breeze is awesome!! We visited Rehoboth beach twice, which was great this time of the year. Dined at both Irish Eyes and Striper Bites in Lewes and both were excellent. One night we brought home crabs from Copp's Seafood in Lewes and enjoyed them at the picnic table on the porch. Several nights we had a fire on the beach with cocktails....great times! Beds are comfortable and kitchen well stocked. Oh, and I don't think our pup wanted to come home! She loved the fenced in yard, walks on the beach and snoozing on the porch. Owner and property manager were extremely responsive, which is so appreciated. Loved our stay, would highly recommend! Hoping to visit again! Thank you Ed for sharing your wonderful property with us!

amazing house and location

  • 5 of 5

This was perfect for our family. It brought back many memories from when we came every summer when I was young. My parents enjoyed every minute as well. The house is beautiful with everything one may need. Very convenient having a washer and drier and extra shower/toilet. Allowed us to shower off before going in house. It was wonderful having a kayak available, it got used every day. Owner was extremely fast in responding when we had a question or concern. Thank you Homeaway for making this vacation easy to schedule, we will be using this site again.

A private little paradise

  • 5 of 5

Our first time booking a vacation home online, we were a little skeptical. Upon arriving to the cottage, it was exactly as described. The cottage was quaint but spacious enough for us and our 2 adult children. The cottage was clean and well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, towels, beach chairs, grill, etc., just as described. The fenced in yard was perfect for our 2 pups.

This place was amazing!! You literally walk out of the door, take 30 steps and you are on the beach!! The views were spectacular. The weather was perfect. We spent 6 glorious days at this cottage. Morning and evening walks on the beach, soaking up the sun in between. We even built a fire on the beach one of the nights. The beach is private, which is great! We may have seen a total of 25 people, for as far as you could see, the entire stay.

The only downfall to the private beach is that, unlike a public beach, it is not cleaned/maintained. The beach is not dirty, by any means. However, there are horseshoe crabs, as well as other debris that wash up with the tide. This is , in my opinion, a small price to pay for your own private beach. We spent the majority of our time at the cottage but did venture out to Lewes and Rehoboth, which were both a short drive. My family and I highly recommend this rental. We hated to leave and are looking forward to spending many more vacations at Prime Hook Beach.
