About Maureen

We moved from Ohio to Littleton, Co 24 years ago & bought our 1st place in Grand Lake 20 years ago. We have 3 boys: twins that are 21 years old & an 15 year old. When they were younger they loved to go to the cabin & catch frogs, butterflies, grasshoppers, play on the swingset, enjoy the wildflower or just hang out on one of the big rocks to have a picnic.

Maureen purchased this cabin in 2000

Why Maureen chose Rocky Mountain National Park

We love the quiet town of Grand Lake we enjoy boating on the 3 large lakes & hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. We often have picnics by one of the lakes & our boys love to just hang outside & see the wildlife.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We came with very high expectations & have not been disappointed! Gorgeous cabin in a stunning location - I dont think we have ever been anywhere so relaxing. We went hiking, mountain biking, rented a boat on Grand Lake & went go-karting. Our teenagers liked the ping pong & x-box. We would come back again anytime!

GREAT Mountain Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Like the other reviews said this is a great cabin in a beautiful location. My husband and I are natives to CO and we always enjoy the mountains. It was so hard to leave this place - mornings and evenings on the deck were the best! The owners take great care of it, so it's worth the what you pay. Definitely want to go back in 2017!!!

Great Mountain Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The views of Shadow Lake are really nice and the proximity to Grand Lake and Trail Ridge road is very convenient. The cabin itself is very nice with a gourmet stocked kitchen, nice deck and family room to relax. The beds are very comfy and the fire pit and hot tub are great. We saw a group of elk several days while we were there. Thanks Maureen!

Absolutely Stunning

  • 5 of 5

I don't even know where to begin so I will start with the planning. Everything was simple, explained and easier than check in at a hotel. Day one we woke up and walked out on the patio to see an Elk (with a full rack) and a female about 20 feet from us. We drove 5 minutes to the RMNP and saw Elk, fox and a deer. The whole ride my kids were talking about how they wanted to go back to the cabin to play ping pong/shuffle Board. This cabin is prefect for kids and adults. They didn't miss a thing in the cabin. I had to call Maureen because the kids wanted to go panning for gold

and she answered right away. Later that day we panned for gold and rode horses. The last day was heartbreaking. The very thought of heading back to our everyday flat life in Iowa stunk and to top it off at about 8:30pm we were met by a female moose about 30 feet away. I am already thinking about our next trip. Great cabin and amazing people!!!

It Gets No Better Than This!!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

When I originally started researching properties in the Grand Lake area I must have looked at all of them, for hours upon hours and days upon days I researched and read the descriptions and always came back to 7 Acre Wood. Since I was planning this trip many months in advance and planning with people traveling from the East Coast I had sent a link to them and they all said the same thing....."When can we move in?". This lovely home is beyond gorgeous, extremely spacious with views that will blow your mind. The owner is Maureen and she is extremely helpful and accommodating in every aspect. The 7 acres the house is situated on is secluded enough but in ten minutes you are in the quaint little town of Grand Lake......another 5 minutes up the road and you are in Rocky Mountain National Park and enjoying all the outdoor activities it has to offer. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen and great room are inviting and well-appointed and the best part is having coffee or cocktails on the deck watching the sunrise, sunset, star gazing or wildlife patrol. During our stay in mid-September 2016, the aspens were at their peak and made the scenery even more enjoyable. Grand Lake itself has the usual unique shops in it's "downtown" district and numerous bistros and restaurants/bars. While there are two small markets in town you can buy groceries at, the selection is limited and a little pricey so I recommend stopping at the Safeway in Fraser or City Market just outside of Granby to stock up. Allow yourself a minimum 3 hours to drive from Denver International Airport (it took us a little longer due to it being a Friday afternoon arrival, construction on I-70 and all the "leaf peepers" heading to the mountains).

There are wonderful hiking trails all over this region for hikers of every ability. Fishing in the lakes, boating, sightseeing and just anything outdoors. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 7 Acre Wood and would recommend this property for any outdoor enthusiast.

It really gets no better than this!
