About Maureen Betz

We moved from Ohio to Littleton, Co 24 years ago & bought our 1st place in Grand Lake 20 years ago. We have 3 boys: twins that are in their 20's & a teenager. When they were younger they loved to go to the cabin & catch frogs, butterflies, grasshoppers, play on the swingset, enjoy the wildflower or just hang out on one of the big rocks to have a picnic.

Maureen Betz purchased this cabin in 2000

Why Maureen Betz chose Rocky Mountain National Park

We love the quiet town of Grand Lake we enjoy boating on the 3 large lakes & hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. We often have picnics by one of the lakes & our boys love to just hang outside & see the wildlife.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We came with very high expectations & have not been disappointed! Gorgeous cabin in a stunning location - I dont think we have ever been anywhere so relaxing. We went hiking, mountain biking, rented a boat on Grand Lake & went go-karting. Our teenagers liked the ping pong & x-box. We would come back again anytime!

We saw Moose!!! Love the 7 Acre Woods

  • 5 of 5

This rental was everything we wanted for our relaxing trip in the mountains. Location was in private environment with beautiful view of lake and mountains. This time of year is somewhat between seasons so we found most attractions closed. We were too early to rent a boat on the lake, too late in the season to tube down a mountain, rent a snowmobile, or dog sled. However, Winterpark Ski village was still going strong.

What we thoroughly enjoyed was a hike to Adam's falls, horseback riding at Saguaro stables, a drive through Rocky Mountain National Park(saw moose), touring the shops in downtown Grand Lake, Jumpstart coffee shop(beats Starbucks by far), and just chilling at the house(saw moose most days from the balcony) playing shuffleboard and card games. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen was perfectly stocked with appliances, cookware, and utensils to prepare the best meals. House was very clean and well maintained.

We absolutely loved our stay. A few things that could be better... Fireplace did not work, the horseshoe pit has been removed, ping pong table missing one wheel and propped up, and the hot tub is not in a great location with all jets not working. None of these things bothered us and we know it would have been fixed if we asked. We didn't ask.

Communication with owner was fantastic. Received all information needed. Easy in and out.

Owner's Response: Hi Scot - so glad the cabin was everything you wanted to relax & enjoy the area including the mountain, lake views with daily moose visits! The fireplace is now fixed (a previous guest had shut off the valve) & we have a hot tub on order & its will be put in as soon as it arrives in a few weeks, the horse shoe pit had to be shut down last fall but will be moved to a better location at the end of this month. Thanks for your great review & hope you can come back again very soon!

Impressive!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is absolutely incredible! It's private and secluded despite being less than two miles from town. The cabin has very nice finishes matched with amazing views of the lake and mountains! The hot tub is an added bonus as well. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Grand lake was a beautiful town and we had tons of fun sledding, snow mobiling, and hiking with snow shoes. Maureen, your cabin made for a great family vacation and we look forward to staying here again!!!

Beautiful relaxing cabin with lots of amenities

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our time at the 7 Acre Woods Cabin. The cabin was gorgeous and the views even more breathtaking. It was secluded, but close enough to others to enjoy the Rocky Mountains and the towns around it. Our snowmobiling trip with Grand Adventures was the highlight of the trip. We live in the city so stargazing on the deck each evening was a real delight.

We grilled and cooked most of our food and the kitchen had all the pans and utensils needed. We also had a movie night and there were many options available in the cabin. A trip to the hot tub before bed each night made sleeping even more pleasant with the King Sized Beds in each room.

There were so many ways to stay entertained at the Cabin. Thanks for a wonderful week of memories!

Beautiful place to make happy family memories

  • 5 of 5

We spent 4 wonderful nights here! There was snow, snow and more snow! The kids sledded down the driveway and also the back of the house. My husband and I snow shoed. We went hot-tubbing, had a fire in the outside firepit, and played outside. The views are breathtaking!

My mom and her husband were with us. Plenty of room for all 6 of us.

The house is clean and well stocked.

We played shuffleboard and ping pong. The TV was hardly on due to all the fun family time we were having.

We want to make this a family tradition. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We loved every minute!
