About this property

Check availability using the "Rates and Availability" tab.

This chalet is simply grand for one family or two couples. Northern Lights is one of the most luxurious properties on the mountain.

It is not practical to ski or board immediately from the chalet. The groomed access trails to the slopes are 100+ meter walk from the chalet carrying his or her gear.

After your day on the slopes, ride an elevator to this penthouse where the single-floor layout appeases end-of-the-day muscles. Revel at your view from 19' ceiling with floor-to-ceiling windows. Heated floors add to your comfort. Relax in the steam shower, lounge in your private hot tub, cozy up fireside with your book. WiFi, Bluetooth speakers, flat screen TVs in the great room and den. PlayStation in the den - the 'kid-favorite' space. Of course, mattresses have been upgraded and beds have duvets.

We have put in much planning to make the chalet comfortable and the same fabulous housekeeper. Come and make your family memories.

Across the street, catch the complimentary mountain shuttle to Village restaurants and pubs - or use the well organized kitchen for your special meal.

We are located in the Snowpines II residential development. Walking to/from Village Centre via the groomed, lighted pedestrian pathway takes 15-20 minutes, determined by your walking speed.

Ski-out requires a 100-meter walk to groomed access trail (to Snow Ghost and Ridge Rocket lifts).
Ski-in requires 200-meter walk from (Serwa's green run) groomed access trail.

Our minimum stay is typically 4 nights. Shorter prior to Christmas and longer during holidays.

School winter breaks require 7-night stay, Saturday-to-Saturday.

For guests with flexibility, our lowest rates are prior-to-Christmas and April.

Thank you for looking.

We recommend purchasing travel insurance. From Consumer Reports: 'Your credit card carrier may provide free travel insurance coverage, so check first; if not, obtain price checks from InsureMyTrip or SquareMouth. "Cancel For Any Reason" coverage must typically be purchased 14-21 day of booking.'

Wonderful. Property manager was very attentive.
Beautiful property and the property manager was very attentive. The property was exactly as described, clean, and comfortable. The property owner surprised us with a box of "The Big White Tradition" which were "custard filled donut like dessert" on our second day there which was much appreciated. We would stay there again.

Wonderful stay!
We had a wonderful time! Julie is such a thoughtful host. The property is well cared for, very well stocked with anything you need, and very tidy. The beds are comfortable too! Julie was so easy to communicate with and the property manager, Debra, is as well. Deb met us at arrival and showed us how everything works. She also very kindly let me know of an item I left behind and helped return it to me. Lastly, the building is so quiet! Great concrete construction. There appeared to be a guys trip staying below us and we didn’t hear anything from them. Julie and Deb - thanks so much! We’d love to stay here again.

Wonderful Property
To start with, we had a few days of cloudy weather, and a few days of blue skies. On the nicer days, we cannot imagine a better view than from this location. The sunrises and sunsets were amazing, especially from the hot tub with a wine or beer. The kitchen was very well stocked (and thank you to those before us who left extra condiments, spices for cooking). The coffee machine is traditional, so bring a few filters (triangle-style) and ground coffee beans. They also had tea filters if you bring loose leaf tea. The unit was also well-stocked with paper products and cleaning supplies. If there is no fresh snow, the property isn't really ski-in/ ski out. But with fresh snow we could walk up to the trail or cross the street and ski down the road to a trail. Ski-in was a bit easier if there's snow on the road (easiest to ski down the road). That said, the bus stop is right across from the unit and provides excellent access to the clocktower building in the Village. Our property manager Deborah was phenomenal - she gave us tips on a bunch of things including dining and the Saturday fireworks (which we could watch from the deck). The overall layout is spacious and comfortable, with touches of elegance but also practicality (for example the TV had plenty to stream, but also local channels and there's a radio in the unit). We really enjoyed our stay and hope others will as well.

About the host

Hosted by Julie & Jim

Host profile image
Our MISSION STATEMENT: To provide luxury accommodation at reasonable rates.

Our GOAL: For our guests to make great family memories during their vacation.

Julie is an elementary school teacher. She grew up in Utah, other mountains with extraordinary snow, and is very selective about where she skis. That's one reason we are here.

Jim grew up in the Midwest and New England. Previously the commanding officer of a naval aviation squadron, operational missions have taken him from Hong Kong to Jiddah and Reykjavik to Santiago.

We currently reside near Washington, DC.

Why they chose this property

Friendly people, 'Champagne Powder' snow, and scenery. It takes many days to ski the entire mountain. The snow is drier than Vancouver and the temperatures milder than the Rockies.

This chalet combines superior location, quality, exquisite finishing, den, elevator, and nearly ski-in/ski-out.

What makes this property unique

Steam shower, private hot tub, den, slope-side location, superlative view, cozy radiant floor heating, washer/dryer, garage
