Vermont Cabin Rental: Rustic Luxury 1 BR + Loft Sleeps 5
I am an interior designer who realized I could use my particular talents to create the unique type of vacation rental that I myself am always seeking. In this commoditized world of professionally managed properties it has become difficult to find the personalized and the refreshing in a vacation rental. Goldilocks Cabin is the antidote to this predictability. I am married to a tug boat captain, and we live on Nantucket island with our cat, Charlie, and three chickens.
Jill purchased this Cabin in 2003
Why Jill chose Stowe Hollow
Goldilocks Cabin was originally the ski cabin of the principal designer at the interior design firm where I was then employed. Together we had great fun decorating the cabin on buying trips to New York, the Paris Flea Market, and at our favorite Vermont antique stores. When my boss decided to buy a bigger house, I jumped at the chance to make Goldilocks Cabin my own.

This is our third visit to Goldilocks Cottage. It's perfect for a weekend get away to VT. We love it.
Everything about the property was well though out. We had everything we needed, it was cozy and especially comfortable furniture and bed. We loved the close proximity to town and the ski slopes. Couldn’t have asked for anything more.
So glad you had fun. Hope you will come stay again~
Our family fit perfectly into this lovely and well equipped cottage for the holidays. We were cozy and warm and loved cooking together in the open kitchen. Couldn’t have asked for more.
Warm and cozy
The Goldilocks Cottage was a cozy place to stay. We were just a couple but it would work well for 4 people. Very fun decoration that sets the mood for a snowy cabin in the woods.
Kitchen was well supplied with pots/pans /dishes. Everything worked well, especially the new heater. We didn’t use the wood burning stove cause it was too early in the season. Only negative is that it could use a deep seasonal cleaning - easily fixed.
Close to town but not really a walk so best to have a car. Near a small covered bridge. Stowe was filled with great restaurants and natural attractions.
Glad you enjoyed your stay. We are about due for the Fall deep clean so consider it done. Thanks for letting me know.
Cabin in Stowe was great
Great place to stay
excellent all around
Perfect location, spotless, couldn't have been better.
Stowe has wonderful hiking trails, both easy and challenging. There are miles and miles on bike paths for biking and Rollerblading. In the summer there are open air concerts, golfing, fly fishing, hot air balloon rides. There are many beautiful lakes nearby for hiking, canoeing or fishing.Numrrous swimming holes, Stowe is known for its great restaurants, many to choose from just minutes away. There are two spas in Stowe, the Stowe Flake, and Top Notch—both wonderful. There's lots of antiquing in the surrounding areas--and prices in Vermont are quite reasonable. For a day trip choose from Burlington, Montpelier or Montreal.
Stowe is known as the Aspen of the North, and the mountain is recently been improved with new runs, lifts, and world class shopping. There are hundreds of miles of trails for cross country skiing or snow shoeing, and of course ice skating as well.
