Overview

About the property

House, 4/3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6-13)

This gorgeous home was custom built in the early 90's and features hand peeled log columns, antique oriental rugs, Ralph Lauren fabrics, stone floors, slate in the bathrooms, and a feeling of home. The owner was a private chef and so the kitchen is fabulous and has every thing you could possibly need to prepare a wonderful dinner. Bon Appetite magazine even did a story in this kitchen! The main floor has a mud room as you enter for all your ski gear. You step up to the cozy living room and walk through to the dining room and onto the chef's kitchen. This is next to the family room where the huge collection of music lives. Upstairs there are three bedrooms. The master with a king bed and it's own private bathroom and walk in closet. The view from the tub is of the slopes at Solitude and is the same from the bed. There are three more bedrooms, one with a full bed and a twin bed a second that has two twin beds with pop up trundles that can come up from underneath to do four in total and also a small set of bunk beds for kids. The room is very flexible and the twins can be made into kings. The fourth room is in fact a large studio apartment. This room has a full size bed and a full trundle that can be used underneath. It has a private bathroom and even it's own kitchen. There is another hall bath and a half bath on the first floor. Note that during the summer this is not included in the rental of the house as there will be a long term tenant in there. It is however included in the winter months.

The mapping doesn't work for this house. We are located on the main canyon road just down hill from the Silver Fork lodge and one mile down hill from Solitude ski resort. 15 minutes to the base of Big Cottonwood Canyon and three miles down hill from Brighton ski resort. Altitude of home is 7500 feet.

Please note that pricing is for the first 8 people. Additional costs apply over 8 people.

About Sarah Langridge

I'm a Realtor with Keller Williams in Park City. Originally from the U.K, I used to live at this property and moved to Park City in 2010. My husband is an attorney in Chicago and our daughters are both in college now.

Sarah Langridge purchased this cabin in 1991

Why Sarah Langridge chose Brighton

I purchased the home back in 1990 and did a complete renovation that took 4 years.

I wanted a home that had no bedroom that sat next to another bedroom and would give great privacy to everyone there. I also wanted two living rooms that were separated so activities in one wouldn't interfere with the other. I had been running a small bed and breakfast in Alta for 10 years and so knew what it was in a home that guests wanted. I created it here. I was also a keen chef at the time so the kitchen is very well laid out and is easy to work in even with a crowd.I love to be in the mountains and this canyon has every thing. Uncrowded slopes, great mountain biking. A wonderful cross country track, excellent back country and superb snow shoeing, yet we are only 15 minutes from the base of the canyon. In the summer we are just 25 minutes by car to Park City over the pass on the Guard road.

What makes this cabin unique

We have sleds in the garage for kids. Snow shoes, games and NetFlix on demand movies. Something for everyone! If you are arriving late and would like me to do a grocery shop I can free of charge (you just pay for the groceries). Also ask me about discount ski passes to Alta, Snowbird, Solitude and Brighton. Deer Valley also a possibility.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The Mitchell's spend about 3 weeks a year or more at the house. We even had ski racks built for them. They leave all their ski gear each time so they can travel back and forth like it's their second home! Their children have made friends with the neighbor kids and every one feels like they have returned home. It's great:)

Great House! Superb host!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this property 3/10-3/14/18. It is very close to Solitude and Brighton. We all preferred Brighton & had a blast skiing there from 9a-9p! Long day, but worth it! Sarah is the perfect host! The fact that she will take the time to go grocery shopping for you, is just unbelievable! The house was great too! There was plenty of room for the 8 of us. You can’t go wrong booking this house!

Great location very nice owner

  • 5 of 5

Just down the road from Silver Fork, 5 mins from Solitude, 15 mins from Brighton. Sarah was great, getting us groceries before we arrived and checking in with us to make sure we were all set.

Owner's Response: Glad you had a great time. I just want to point out that Brighton is only 3.5 miles up the road and Solitude 1.2 miles for other people reading this.

We had a group of 10 men for a ski/snowboard trip. The owner was very accommodating and the house was great for the group. We are definitely coming back and staying here on our next trip to Utah!

The Flexible Mountain Ski House was a solid 10!!!

  • 5 of 5

The Flexible Mountain Ski House was absolutely fantastic! If I could rate it more than 5 stars I definitely would. A lot closer to 10 stars than 5.

The owner rates a solid 100! She was so accomodating and responsive. I have rented a lot of ski properties and she is absolutely the best. No one else even close!

We arrived late to the property after taking a flight out of Nashvile. We found the refrigerator stocked and all nine of us were just blown away. My daughter was so impressed.

Regarding the ski house, when we arrived my 6 yea- old grandson was so excited. He could not get over how awesome it was. Then when he saw the studio apartment with the windows looking out over the mountains he quickly said that "..this is my room!" And it was. My son-in-law said that he had never seen him so excited.

An awesome ski house with an awesome owner. You can't get better than that. We are already making plans to return in 2018.

It takes two or three minutes to drive to Solitude and is actually quicker than staying in the village at Solitude because it takes longer to walk from the condos there to the lifts. You can drive right to the slopes and park next to the run, pop your boards on and away you go, it 's SO easy!
