About Buff Toulon

I grew up in Colorado and spent my youth skiing in Breckenridge when it was just a small resort with one mountain. My husband (native of Hawaii) and I met while at Western State College in Gunnison Colorado. We've been married for 29 years, have two grown sons and know we are very lucky to finally have a beautiful retreat in Breckenridge. We visit 3 times a year for at least 2-3 weeks, which ensures that our house is very clean and well-maintained so that our guests will have a quality experience here.

Buff Toulon purchased this house in 2001

Why Buff Toulon chose Breckenridge

Breckenridge is a place with amazing choices in skiing, but it still retains the charm of the old mining days. We believe it is the best ski resort in all of North America. When we found this lot in 2000, we knew we'd found the ideal place to build a comfortable home with incredible views. It is so close to town and yet offers an incredible solitude for the times you just want to escape the madding crowd!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We intend to make this a very friendly home for all our guests as well as for ourselves and continue to make upgrades twice a year.. We welcome all your comments and will do everything we can to make this home the perfect vacation rental. Thank you. Sincerely, Buff & Pai Toulon

We had a wonderful time at this superb house looking

over Breckenridge. The views are fantastic and the

rooms well decorated. Our grown children and their

own families are planning on staying at this house on

their next visit to Colorado.

The perfect place for our family vacation

  • 5 of 5

The "Double Diamond" was exactly what we wanted for our summer visit to Breckenridge. The town is only a few minutes away from this beautiful home that sits up the mountain side, offering incredible, ever changing views and a very peaceful, private oasis. We spent every morning enjoying our coffee on the balcony with perfect views of the ski slopes directly in front of us across the valley. Evenings were spent in the hot tub, again with incredible views of the mountains and the night sky. This home is well equipped with everything you will need, including new appliances, comfortable couches and recliners, plenty of movies, puzzles, books and games, and even an excellent pair of binoculars. Bathrooms and bedrooms were comfortable and quiet with lots of windows and nice linens. Everything was very clean and in working order. When it became apparent that we didn't have quite enough towels, a text to Buff remedied the situation quickly and kindly. Our family of 6 adults enjoyed every minute of our stay at the "Double Diamond" house. If we are ever lucky enough to visit Breckenridge again, this will be where we stay, and we will be sharing this gem with anyone we know who is planning a trip to Breck. Many thanks for making our vacation a perfect one, Buff!

Owner's Response: We are always happy to know guests enjoy not only our house but the entire area. Thank you so much for noting some of the things we try to add for a really fun and fulfilling vacation. You were so very, very patient and gracious regarding the limited towels left by housekeeping and we thank you for being so nice. Have a fantastic remaining 2016 and we hope to have you and your family return in the future. Thank you very, very much for this gracious review.

Perfect, lovely prorperty, great view and amenities

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time that we have stayed at Double Diamond, and I'm sure we will return many times. The location is very convenient to the downtown and has a spectacular view of the ski slopes, including from the hot tub on the lower deck. We loved it.

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

The home is wonderful. The views from the deck are breathtaking. The kitchen has everything needed to cook a great meal after a day in town enjoying Breckenridge. The weather was unusually warm and without ceiling fans it does get warm in the house. We would definitely go here again next time we are in Breckenridge. Buff was great and communication with him was great. Enjoying the hot tub under the stars is quite the experience.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for taking time to review our property. We are very interested in hearing feedback that can help future and return guests to have every comfort possible in our home. We will ensure that there are more standing fans available in the house and appreciate your comments. The south western exposure is wonderful for light (as well as warming sun in the cooler months) but can get a bit hot during summer months. For most comfort, close all the blinds/drapes to the view windows while out enjoying the area. This will greatly reduce the build up of summer heat for you. We are so glad that you enjoyed the house, the hot tub and the area and hope to see you again in the future. Buff and Pai Toulon

Beautiful, Well-Maintained Home

  • 5 of 5

Our family with two teenaged boys and the grandparents really enjoyed our weekend at the property. We all had our own space, but yet the common areas were cozy and comfortable as well. Beautiful and thoughtful finishes throughout the residence, such as soap, lotion, air fresheners, kleenex, paper towels, condiments, baking and cooking items. The view is extraordinary. It makes you not want to leave, but the home is a short and convenient drive to Main Street and the ski hills. You will not be disappointed with this property.

Great spot in Breck

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at this house two times over the past two years, both times as part of a ski weekend in March. The house is in a great spot with views of the slopes across the valley. You will need a car to drive to the slopes or anywhere else. This is not within walking distance of anything useful.

The house itself is great. We had 5-6 people both times we stayed at the house. There is one large master suite that is good for a couple. There is another bedroom with a queen bed that is good for another couple. Then there is a third bedroom with twin beds for two additional people. All the bedrooms are on the lower living level. The kitchen and living room space on the upper living level are good for the whole group. There is a long (not deep) deck that extends off the living room that has the best views in the house.

The hot tub is below the deck described above but still has a decent view across the valley at the ski slopes.

The neighborhood is quiet and this is overall a great place to stay with a small group. Buff was very responsive to emails and phone calls in advance of our arrival.
