About Ron Scheips
My wife, Diane and I came to Grand Lake on vacation in the summer of 1999. We loved the area and the people so much that we decided right then and there that this is where we wanted to retire to. We built our home in 2000 and expanded to rentals in 2004. We love sharing the Grand Lake experience with others. I retired from the post office in January of 2009 and Diane retired from teaching in the spring of 2010. We live on the lake full time now and it is wonderful but the best part is meeting all of our fabulous guests. We hope to see you soon. Ron and Diane Scheips
Ron Scheips purchased this Cottage in 2010
Why Ron Scheips chose Eucha
In August of 2010 we purchased the lakefront property across the street from our home and other VRBO listing #290131. We felt that this cottage would make a wonderful addition to our other rental as we now have a great dock and beach area for our guests to enjoy along with the 2 bedroom cottage. We now have the capability of accommodating larger groups. Also, this area is a quiet residential area with very little traffic and abundant wildlife.
What makes this Cottage unique
If you choose to stay at Laketime Cottage, you can enjoy a whole host of things to do. You can just sit on our shaded deck and enjoy sunsets, watch the squirrels play, make a fire in our fire-ring, swim off our private dock, grill out on our provided charcoal grill and just enjoy nature at its finest.

A nice, homey home on the lake.
The cabin was neat and clean with plenty of kitchenware and appliances for preparing meals. It had a lovely view of the lake and a delightful sunroom and deck to enjoy the view from. The owners were welcoming and attentive, with replacing an internet device on Saturday. Apparently it had been damaged in a recent storm without the owners being aware of the problem until we brought it to their attention.
Great property on the water & awesome view
Great property on the water. Awesome view of the lake! Lake was up which made getting to the dock a little adventurous, but not bad at all! (paddle boat) because the first part of the walkway to the dock was under water. One thing about the dock is that it is shared with their other property renters, which we weren’t aware of. Wouldn’t have been a big deal, other than there was only one paddle boat, so when they were on the dock, it made it inaccessible for others to get to it since the paddle boat was already at the dock. They also have one kayak, but we’re not solo kayakers. The house filled our needs with what we needed. One negative for us is that it smelled musty from being closed up. I think what would help is replacing the very old & dated carpet in the two bedrooms. It holds in the smells. The ceiling fan in the closed-in back room of the house needs to be replaced (very wobbly & noisy. Couldn’t use it). The stand up fan that is in there is not usable as the control switch on it is broken, so couldn’t even turn it on. Very nice huge deck overlooking the lake. Back light didn’t work though. No electric plugs would work outside. Was going to plug in some hanging lights so we’d have a little bit of light back there at night. Neighborhood wasn’t bad, other than some barking dogs at times & kazoo blowing kids. The noise wasn’t constant, which was great. This wasn’t the property owners fault, I know. That’s just the chance anyone takes renting a property. Overall, the house was accommodating for us, just needs some repairs/updating. GREAT location on the water!!! 06/16/19
Great location on the water, Cabin is dated.
Ron and Dianne are great hosts. The cabin is small and does not have central air conditioning. There are window units, but one of the bedrooms does not have a unit and is hot if the door is closed. The deck is wonderful and the kitchen is fully equipped, although appliances are dated. The location is fabulous!!!
Thank you for your review. We enjoyed your stay here. We do "listen" to our guest's reviews. Yesterday we installed air conditioning in the only bedroom that didn't have it. We are very proud of our 50's pink "dated" appliances. They work great and most of our guests love them. Thanks again, and we hope to be seeing you again soon. Ron
This is our second time staying here and it was the perfect vacation! We did nothing but relaxed, swam, and fished. It was amazing. The house is great, it has everything you need and Ron helped us if we had any questions or needed anything. We will definitely be back! :)
Thanks Kim for your kind words. It is always nice to see you guys. Glad you caught a bunch of fish to take back with you. Looking forward to seeing you again. Ron
Everything we needed for a family of 7
House was well kept, loved the antique feel to it. Owners were available and responsive to check in, had no other needs during our stay. Would appreciate some heaters in the other bedrooms though!
Great property. Great owners. Great service!
Ron and Diane go out of way to make your experience memorable. We stayed in their cottage. Was very well kept.
'Rock- crawling' has taken the area by storm. It is getting more popular every year. Disney, the town close by hosts some of the nation's major rock-crawling events as seen on ESPN. Rock -crawling is the sport of taking heavily modified, souped up trucks and climbing the steep rock formations below the dam in Disney. They are incredible to watch.
