Everything was exactly what I hoped for!
When we arrived to the boathouse, it looked just as amazing as the pictures, and we were greeted by the renter, given a map of the area and a few tips, and she was clear about the house rules and what was expected (which wasn't very much- just taking out the trash.) The location was ideal - very short walk to the free, 24 hour ferry and few cute shops and cafes nearby. The home was very clean and in excellent condition. I have already recommended it to my friends and family members looking into future trips. I would definitely rent from Sander again!
Perfect location amazing property
Can’t recommend this property highly enough. We stayed as a family of 4 and it suited us perfectly. Catching the 24 hour ferry over to the city was so much fun. Sander is delightful and met us at the property and explained everything. It was amazing being on the water and the apartment was clean and well appointed - we ate breakfast and dinner each day which saved a lot of money. Bath is absolutely gorgeous and perfect after a day of riding. Thank you sander for the amazing property.
Clean, comfortable, spacious & convenient to the city.
Fabulous place to stay and close to central station (access to bus, tram & train) via the free ferry. Plenty of room to relax & have your own space. Swans visited every morning. Would highly recommend this property as a great place to stay.
Excellent Accommodation convenient to Centraal
This is a lovely houseboat in the Noord district of Amsterdam. Roomy for our family of 4, we enjoyed being on the water but outside of the busier canals in the Centrum. A key observation is that anyone with bad knees may want to know of the steep and narrow stairs in this place, necessary to accessing the bedroom and bathroom which are downstairs. The owner was there to greet us on arrival and give us an orientation tithe facilities and the neighbourhood. He was great to communicate with through the booking. We were very happy with this accommodation as it was a great escape from the very busy and noisy central tourist zones, and to enjoy a ferry ride each day as we went out sightseeing. For those who love to walk, it was perfect. We walked everywhere! Would definitely stay here again on another visit to Amsterdam.
Excellent property, quiet location, close to centre
We thank Sander and his colleagues for their care and attention during our visit. We were met at the property and keys handed over. All instructions are in the property handbook, so everything is explained clearly.
The property is clean and tidy with all facilities. Deen supermarket is nearby so you can save carrying shopping too far. Also street market on nearby street and small grocer. So all you need is within short walking distance. The travel to the property is approx three minutes on ferry from Amsterdam Centraal and then ten minute walk.
Process of booking was straightforward with contact as appropriate and good even during our journey (flight delay) which meant Sander knew we were going to be late and made sure we met our contact to pick up the keys.
Thanks, Sander and friends, we are already planning our next visit.
Everything we needed!
Clean, nicely furnished, quiet, and convenient for local facilities. Hard to fault except need reasonable mobility for stairs and walking. So nice to arrive at a property with a good welcome and not have to immediately buy toiletries, washing up liquid and dishwasher tabs! We also acquired visits from a pair of Moorhens and their brood, which was delightful and could feed them from the rear balcony where you can sit overlooking the water. There is a Deen supermarket and takeaways within reasonable walking distance away and even closer are some cafes and a very good Italian restaurant called Il Pecorino. The Ferry over to the centre is very quick and we walked from Amsterdam Centraal to the boat with our wheelie cases. The North side is a ‘work in progress’ and looks like an industrial wasteland at times but there are some very interesting regenerated parts made from old containers worth a visit. We enjoyed food and drink in a waterside cafe called Pleck.
Located in a quiet residential area. It's a 10 minutes walk to the free ferry (runs 24 hours a day) which takes you in a couple of minutes straight to the Central station right in the middle of the city. From here all the major attractions of Amsterdam like the Anne Frank House, van Gogh museum etc. are easy to reach by bus or tram. The best way is however to rent bikes to move around like the locals.
