We have 100% 5-Star Reviews! See what our guests have to say. We guarantee you won't be disappointed either.

'Your home was warm and inviting and quite spacious. The views were very nice. The location is exactly what you described: 'just minutes from everything'. We are glad we did not pass it up. We really felt at home. Thank you.' Lisa K. Seattle, WA.

The 2000+ sq ft home sits on 17,000 sq ft of property and features: 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, ½ bath, 2-car attached garage, fully equipped kitchen, dining/living area, laundry room, and a desert landscaped back yard that features a windmill and plenty of pace to park an RV or boat.

Located in the heart of the Wine-Trail of the 'Turquoise Triangle', Jerome-Cottonwood-Sedona, of the beautiful Arizona Verde Valley. Very close to the beauty of Sedona but away from the tourist crowds, the home is nestled in the rolling hills of Verde Village in Cottonwood, located between Sedona and Jerome, literally a few minutes' drive. Wine tasting in the local vineyards and wineries is within 10 to 15 minutes.

Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen Details: Living Room - As the center of the home, this room is perfect for gathering and enjoying the amazing view from the 10-foot sliding door, which doubles as a gigantic panoramic picture frame! This is truly “a room with a view”.

Dining Room - The large teak table accommodates 8 people. Enjoy a serene meal with spectacular views of the Sedona Red Rocks from the East-facing sliding door and the Serene Mingus Mountains from the front West giant window.

Kitchen - Fully equipped with refrigerator, gas stove, dishwasher, trash compactor, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, toaster, coffee maker, rice cooker and microwave oven. Adjacent to the kitchen you will find a washer and dryer as well as an iron and ironing board.

Bedrooms: Master Bedroom - A quiet and relaxing room with its own master bath and walk-in closet. The master bath features an extra large, easy access shower stall. The room has its own sliding door to the backyard deck and features a relaxation corner that is perfect for meditation, yoga or just an afternoon siesta.

Kids Room - Comfortably sleeps four children or teens. The room has two twin bunk beds, a dresser, and closet. The upper bunks are best suited for younger children. The rock art in the room was made by our kids!

Bathroom - This bathroom is adjacent to the kid’s room and features a bathtub and linen closet.

Guest Room - This is a very large room that doubles as a family room. It has a queen size bed, a dresser, and closet space on both sides of the bed. The room features Scandinavian teak sitting furniture and book shelves filled with board games, puzzles and movies.

Why stay at Casa del Cielo: Compare the advantages of staying at our home:

Costs less: A 2-diamond cheesy hotel room will cost you $100.00 plus 12.33% tax! Sleeps 4, No privacy! You need two rooms to accommodate 8 people. That's over $225.00 per night. A 3-diamond room will cost you $149.00 per night plus tax! (source: Travelocity, cheaprooms).

Have Space: After a day of touring, relax, have some space, play board games, sit on the deck or living room and enjoy the view, the sunsets and sunrises, the constellations, the monsoons of August--they cool-off the night, the winter snow or the incredible lightning storms and rainbows.

Save on Meals: No need to eat out three times a day. That gets expensive. Eat breakfast in your pajamas, cook a gourmet meal or order pizza. Pack a lunch for your hikes or bake a cake!

About Mac & Yazmin Peebles

We are a family of six. We have four sons: Nathan (23 and a recent graduate of USC's Film School) Adam (18 and a Freshman at UC Berkeley), and seven year old twins, Yonah and Remi (in Second Grade). Mac is a software engineer and Yazmin is a Business and Operations Manager and owns an Etsy shop. We have been very blessed with a wonderful family and good health. We enjoy the outdoors, our kids, and doing charitable work.

Why Mac & Yazmin Peebles chose Arizona

The minute we walked in the house, we fell in love with the views! We love that all the rooms are large and private and the living area is warm and conducive to family time. The deck is perfect for watching the changing colors of the Red Rocks, the stars, lightning showers during monsoon season, and hot air balloons in the mornings. Dinners al fresco are pure bliss!

We decided that family vacations in a quaint town full of outdoor adventure opportunities would be the perfect place for four boys. Over the last 10 years, we have had so many wonderful times together, away from it all. Our home has been the perfect place to build those memories.

What makes this house unique

We had visited the area and fell in love with the absolute beauty of the Verde Valley and everything it has to offer. We picked Cottonwood because it has not lost its old-town, quaint feel of small town America; and because it is literally in the middle of everything there is to do in the area.

We love to travel, but we are not fond of touristy places. We like to stay where regular folk live and experience the area like 'locals', not tourists. We support small businesses and eat at local neighborhood joints. Our home is located in a place where we can do that; where the neighbors are friendly and look out for each other.

If you stay in Sedona, you will find yourself driving through Cottonwood multiple times, because a lot of the beautiful, cool, and amazing places to see and visit are down this way. In fact, Cottonwood is the heart of the Verde Valley Wine-Trail and the heart of what is known as the Turquoise Triangle (Jerome-Cottonwood-Sedona); where you can enjoy the Wine Trail from Page Springs to Jerome Ghost Town turned artist colony, Tuzigoot, Verde Canyon Train, Old Towns Cottonwood and Clarkdale, Camp Verde, Waterfront Park, Dead horse Ranch, Verde Railroad, Sycamore Canyon, Out of Africa, and much more!

Great house, great value and close to everything!

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our family and very close to everything. With a big family,we really needed space that was affordable, nice and comfortable. This house is really a great deal. No hotel could match neither the space nor the price. And the views are great. We highly recommend it.

It Was Okay

  • 3 of 5

It is important to note this home is about 30 minutes away from downtown Sedona. The home was clean and had all the basics except no Microwave (which is hard to believe since they are so cheap). The only way someone could possibly rate this 5 starts is if that person had never stayed in an actual 5 star accommodation. Everything is old and worn but did the job.

We had 5 adult mountain bikers in our group and checked before hand to make sure there were beds for everyone. Only after we had confirmation there were beds for everyone, we made the reservation but upon arrival we found a sign on the two sets of bunk beds that said; "No Teens or Adults." So the couches were put to use.

Overall the home was okay and provided what we needed to have a great time!

Wonderful home!

  • 5 of 5

We picked the perfect place to stay while we hiked in the Sedona and Cottonwood area. We loved the spaciousness of the home and how conveniently it was located. We were amazed by how well equipped it was, both in terms of kitchen equipment, towels, etc; but there was also a wide variety of spices and other things we were welcomed to use, such as umbrella, day pack - even laundry soap! And the best part of our day was relaxing on the deck with a glass of wine and enjoying the beautiful views and the quiet, peaceful neighborhood.

just ok

We stayed here for a week in January. This was our first visit to the area. An important thing to know is that Cottonwood is not in the “red rocks” area. That’s not necessarily bad – we liked Cottonwood (less touristy than Sedona), and the views are very nice, but the house is about 20 minutes from the area of the rock formations and most activities.

The house itself is clean and spacious, with easy access to main roads and to the grocery. The owner provides ample information and answers questions promptly.

The best word to describe the house, however, is “worn.” For example, there is a broken chair in the dining room, stuffing coming out of cushions on the chairs, and the couch is fraying. There is an electric socket with no cover in the master bedroom. Pillows are thin.

The living room is very dark in the evening – only 1 lamp. Cabinets and closets are full of “stuff” - stained pillows, old linens, someone’s bedroom slippers, someone’s hats and other odds and ends. Even some old food in the pantry. You have the sense that you are staying in someone’s home, that fits their likes and dislikes, but isn’t really oriented to the renter.

I realize that the house generally gets very positive reviews – in fact our decision to stay there was based on those good reviews. However, we were disappointed with what we found.

From the Red Rocks of Sedona to Mingus Mountains of Jerome, accessibility is at its peak in this community well known for its attraction of tourists and families looking for a peaceful place to vacation. The Verde River flows through the town and the home is very close to its riparian habitat along the Verde River Watershed, which attracts nearly a third of the 900 species of birds in the United States and Canada—from the miniature hummingbird to broad-winged raptors. Many of these birds can be seen right from the home's backyard deck!

Cottonwood is bordered on the south, east and west by high mountains and on the north by mesas and buttes. Arizona’s Verde Valley is home to numerous National Monuments, State Parks and National Forests. At an elevation of 3,300 feet above sea level, this high desert enjoys all four seasons with comfortable weather year round.

Other Activities: state parks, river swimming, spas, 4-wheel riding, jeep rentals, art galleries, casino, indian ruins, archeology, geology, out of Africa Park
