About Shanna & Paul
We love all things outdoors. We have spent many years rafting and guiding on the New and Gauley Rivers which offer some of the best whitewater in the world. We like to hike and fish. Our truest sport-love is skiing. We have skied many resorts in many states and look forward to playing on many more mountains. We like to garden and play with our farm animals. We raise goats, cows, and chickens. We have rescued two dogs: Willow, a German Shepherd mix (i.e. West Virginia Brown Dog) and more recently Rocky, a Great Dane/Cane Corso Mastiff mix.

So great to stay at this VRBO in Beckley, WV. It was close by White Water Rafting destination and yet secluded
Beautiful cabin in a gorgeous spot, as promised. Owners were easy to contact and very friendly.
Beautiful Mountainside Getaway
I enjoyed a quick couple of days here with my wife and daughters 12 and 14 while in the area for a rafting excursion. The long driveway was really fun and it led to a beautiful view from all around the property, inside the cabin and huge wraparound deck. The view from the loft made for some breathtaking morning views in bed. We consistently saw a couple of deer and some turkeys in the field down the hill. At night the sky was so full of stars and one night a nice lighting show far in the distance. As remote as it is, it was a short 15-20 minute drive to the rafting camps and little downtown of Fayetteville. If I were to point out any shortcomings it would be a bit of a lack of privacy with only one true bedroom so those sleeping on the pull out bed and those in the loft hear everything. The water pressure left a little something to be desired, but I understand with the well water etc. The owners were great, and allowed us to check in a bit early. All in all I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a beautiful little piece of nature in the New River Gorge area.
Overall, it was a fantastic stay. The property was beautiful, and the owner's were great to work with.
The house sits in a perfect location! It was so relaxing and enjoyable! Beautiful views!
Our driveway is a mile-long, red rock/gravel/dirt road. There are no street lights or stop lights. This “off-the-beaten-path” drive surrounded by woodlands and hills is the only way to escape the disturbances of everyday life and truly enjoy the seclusion that our cabin has to offer. Please drive slowly; you will likely encounter some deer or turkeys crossing the road.
During the winter months, we strongly recommend AWD or 4WD to access the cabin.
