About Randy Valenta
Hello, Randy and I have been married for 37 years and have three children. Our family has been vacationing in the Breckenridge area for over 20 years. We decided to build our dream home and plan to retire in our home. We hope you will feel comfortable and enjoy some great times with family and friends in our home away from home.
Randy Valenta purchased this House in 2009
Why Randy Valenta chose Blue River
SNOW SNOW SNOW! The wildflowers aren't too bad either!

Relax sitting in front of the stone fireplace with your cup of coffee and viewing the beautiful mountains. My family loved our stay in this incredible home. The location gives you a feeling of seclusion even when you are only a short drive from Breckenridge. Watching the sunset with a drink in hand followed by a board game and then relaxing in the hot tub made the end of each day perfect.
Thanks for your kind words Robert! Hope you can come back and enjoy more after these strange times.
Great First Ski Trip for the Kids
We loved staying at this house. It was the first ski trip for my kids and the house was large and very accommodating towards them (games, books, foosball table, and sleds to sled down the driveway).
Randy was excellent to work with and very prompt in responding to questions. There was a bit of a problem with the cleaning crew arriving late on check-in day (someone rented the house right before we did) but the weather closed the passes the day before and there was a lot of traffic getting into/out of Breckenridge. Randy was also on top of it communicating with both myself and the cleaning crew.
We liked how the house was located outside of the hustle and bustle of Breckenridge proper but only a short 15-20 minute drive to Peak 8 (Breckenridge's Main Lodge area) during the weekdays. It was nice to get away from the crowds after skiing all day and reheat/cook a meal and relax in the hot tub afterwards. The radiant heating, air handling system, and whole house humidifier made it very pleasant to handle the colder temperatures. The garage was very large and we could get a Subaru Ascent with a topbox and a full size 3500 series truck inside.
The only thing I would change would be the softness of the upstairs queen bed (the only one my wife and I slept on). We have a nice memory foam topped mattress at home and have gotten completely spoiled by it.
We had a wonderful time, short distance from town. Lots of places to walk & explore around home. Randy was excellent host, and texted to check on us & answer any questions we had. If you are looking in the Breckenridge area, don’t miss this great spot. Looking forward to coming back soon!
Christmas Winter Wonderland
Our family enjoyed the Christmas holiday at this amazing place. The house was decorated beautifully for Christmas and had all we needed for an enjoyable memorable holiday. Randy and Kathleen were very nice to work with and quick to respond to any questions or concerns. We have stayed at several properties, but this one was the best by far. If we are ever back in Breckenridge, this property will be our first choice.
This house is exactly what we were hoping for. It’s beautiful inside and out. Perfect location for us. Close enough to Breck to go into town whenever we wanted, but in a very quiet neighborhood with wonderful views. We were surprised to have snow the entire time we were there in October, but not disappointed. We used the sleds in the garage to ride down the driveway. It was wonderful! The hot tub was a welcome treat at the end of the day. The big fireplace and the whole house humidifier kept the house warm and cozy during all that snow. Did I mention the views? Looking at those snow covered mountains out the huge living room window was just amazing. I have so many pictures on my phone! There is plenty of room for two families that are traveling together but we enjoyed being there with just the two of us! Thank you Randy and Kathleen for sharing your wonderful house with us. Hoping we can come back some time with our kids and grandkids!
Peak 8 Adventure center in summer has plenty to do on the mountain. Frisco has built lots of new activity spaces for biking, riding, etc. There is a tot lot, new in 2011, just down the street from us.
