About Ellen W.
I've traveled the world with my husband and now-adult children -- always on a budget, preferring to spend my money on interesting locations and new experiences instead of luxurious lodging. I've brought my personal travel philosophy to Nifty Thrifty, where you'll have a place of your own with all the comforts of home. And, thanks to our very reasonable rates, you'll have the extra spending money you need to make your visit to Eugene and the Willamette Valley memorable. When you stay at Nifty Thrifty, you're not dealing with a distant owner. My family and I live just seven blocks away, and we're always happy to answer a question, solve a problem, or make a suggestion. Come visit us! We know you'll be pleased!

Ok for a quick stay
The check in had to be with the owner which generally is not a problem but it was a little overkill on the info. One of the beds was not too bad and the other was very uncomfortable. Lots of blankets and some games. Tv was very small and I had problems with the one in the bedroom at first. Great yard for your dog. mine liked it a lot. Good location for us since it was close to the college which is why we were there.
In nearly 10 years in business, always maintaining a 4.9 star average, this is my first 3-star review. It's frustrating to receive it for: (1) a property that I'm always told is exactly as pictured, (2) a TV problem that the guest didn't request assistance with (choosing instead to change the name and password of my network), (3) bed dissatisfaction, which is a highly subjective issue, and (4) providing too much guest information. I (fairly) cheerfully waited two hours for you, I was happy to chat with you at booking and upon arrival about the fun family reason for your trip, and I shrugged off the extra work required of me when you failed to follow house rules. When I inquired about your stay after checkout, you did not respond. Best wishes, Chris.
Great house! It was the perfect place to stay. Close to shopping, restaurants and easy 10 minute drive to U of O. The home is nice and bright in a great location. I booked it last minute and found the price to be better than most hotels in the area. Nice backyard space.
Crazy morning for you, long drive, but a comfy place to end the day — I’m glad Nifty Thrifty well met your needs, Suzy! Come again! —Ellen
Great Place to Stay!
Property is close to town and excellent dog park! Ellen was very flexible with questions and check-in time due to traffic issues. Thank you Ellen.

Very cozy home in great location. Fantastic yard for my dog.
Loved proximity to U of O and restaurants that we were able to walk to.
