Beautiful courtyard garden with fountain open in warm weather.
The apartment is a unique space that offers a feeling of being in Morocco in the midst of Boston. The fine arts and furnishings were custom designed and handmade in the city of Fez.
Enjoy the hospitality and warmth of a home with luxury amenities. Thank you for considering us!
Friendly art historian and designer. Born and raised in Asia and the US, I love international design and traditional folk arts, which is why my spaces are eclectic, decorated in European, Pan-Asian, and Moroccan styles. One of the main reasons I like sharing my spaces is because, in this way, I am also sharing experiences and beauty I have encountered while traveling.
Elizabeth Gittings purchased this apartment in 1993
It is a gracious and historically important early American townhouse, with lovely authentic architectural details. The interior spaces have the calm of the Neo-Classical and the intimacy of the Federal style. Boston is a great city for the arts and history, and a pleasure to experience because of its human scale.
The fireplaces, courtyard garden with fountain, skylights, and hand-hewn beams are rare. Located in Boston's oldest neighborhood. And the art!
Looking for an apartment in Boston I gladly found this wonderful suite - it is marvellous, wonderfull, overwhelming - everything you need is there and even more .... Elizabeth is such a carying host:: always filled fridge adjusted to your needs and wishes..; she is so kind and helpfull - you cant get a better host. The apartment is ideally located - you can easily get to the center, everything in walking distance - at least for us. And if you prefer the T (underground) or the bus it's also only about a some minutes walk. We liked it so much to stay there and to get known to Elizabeth that we will come back soon for sure.. What more could you want! Beautiful & comfortable suite, ideally located, amazing hospitality from Elizabeth & Bill made this a perfect stay! Very highly recommend to anyone! Oh & the shower is something to write home about- water pressure felt luxurious!
i have never stayed in a more beautiful homeaway property! i could write pages of rave reviews, but i'll try to keep it short -- elizabeth was so responsive and awesome from the start, providing well-researched info about all boston neighborhoods, restaurants, and attractions that really helped guide our stay. her recommendations are spot on! the suite is unbelievably charming and romantic, and beautifully decorated. we walked everywhere from the suite and felt that charlestown was a perfect "ground zero" for exploring boston. we couldn't have been more thrilled with our experience. we laughed our butts off at improv asylum and ate the best italian food at giacomo's (north end), loved our dinner at legal oysteria and enjoyed delicious food and a fun historic atmosphere at warren pub (charlestown)... i would recommend this suite over any hotel, anytime. do NOT miss out on a chance to enjoy this place as much as we did! thanks again elizabeth and bill!
We loved staying in this unique suite, and hosts Elizabeth and Bill were wonderful!
My husband and I were looking for a perfect, romantic place to stay while traveling to Boston. This place immediately caught my eye and my husband loved the looks of it. The owner was great with helping us with our first travel to Boston and Charlestown with restaurants and places to visits guides. She was very quick with email and phone responses and made us feel very welcomed! We are gracious that she offered us her place to stay and we couldn't have been happier, the placed was beyond beautifully decorated and made you feel like you were staying in luxury. When we make our way back to Boston, this is where we will be staying!
This was my second time staying with Elizabeth and have to say, she continues to impress! Not only is the location great, but when you arrive, you almost feel at home and not like its a hotel or anything like that. She goes above and beyond when it comes to comfort and cleanliness! I stayed in the Salem Suite last year and had my family come down and stay in the Moroccan Suite too. The bed was so comfortable, it was hard to get out of it in the morning! She has everything you could want or need in both suites and the character that she puts into them is really cool and chic. I was just back out there this September for a Red Sox vs Yanks game and had no doubt in my mind that I was going to stay again! It was just like I remembered it and can't wait to come back again! Thanks for all the hospitality and for making my Boston visits so relaxing and enjoyable!
I have used HomeAway several times, but this was by far the best rental yet. The apartment is everything that it is promised to be and then some. I did not feel like I was in a city, I truly felt like I was in a little Moroccan oasis! The apartment was immaculately prepared with soaps, candles, and breakfast for the mornings. The property manager, Margaret, was also a delight and very pleasant to deal with. Definitely one of the best stays I've ever had, I couldn't recommend it enough!
