Sorry to disappoint my Houston guests. Rick & I had no idea you were looking for a romantic hideaway! If we made you uncomfortable in some fashion I do apologize. We are so accustomed to having guests stay we no longer suffer from “Gladys Cravits” syndrome thus not focusing on what is going on at the guest house. The amenities section of both VRBO.com and homeaway.com are accurate for what we provide. I would venture a guess I provide more than what is listed. Yes the tank less hot water heater is finicky – sorry you did not bond with the system – we like the eco friendly nature of the unit. Oops, the auto temp button was not pushed on the HVAC unit. When engaged, the unit works with a thermostat while controlling the temperature. I have added the instructions to my “helpful hints” provided for all the guests. Rick & I consider the guest house an extension of our home and pride ourselves in providing the accommodations we advertise and each guest agrees to when making their reservation. We enjoyed having you as our guests and welcome you back anytime!
Third time staying on the property and second time in the guest house! It has everything we need for a quiet, relaxing weekend away! The added fridge inside was a bonus! Nice addition! The bed downstairs is heavenly! The place is extremely clean! Shampoo/conditioner/soap is provided! It is stocked with everything! The girls LOVE the upstairs getaway! The furniture is very comfortable! Plenty of blankets and pillows! Are favorite is the outdoor kitchen and hot tub!! We used the firewood provided with the fire pit! Again, multiple seating options outside with tables! We love the dog! The water on the property is just beautiful and we would love to stay during the summer months but come her in February every time for our anniversary and husbands birthday! Yes, the owners house is directly next door but every time we have been there, we have never seen her out other than when we areive. Also, she is very very friendly! She makes our stay wonderful! I cannot explain the love we have for The guest house and the way the owners make us feel welcomed! Our girls played board games and we laughed the entire weekend! Thank you for a wonderful stay with many beautiful memories!
Cabin was very clean and presentable! We loved the whole set up from the inside of the cabin all the way down to the river. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Exactly what my husband and I was looking for. Planning our next visit.
We enjoyed our stay and owners were very friendly. My 5 and 6 year old girls enjoyed the out doors but having the comfort of a cabin. We drove to Hot Springs a couple times and did some of the activities around the area. Overall great vacation.
Stayed here with 3 friends and had an awesome time.
We used the cabin as a base camp for a camping trip to the Ouachita Forest, and there's a ton of hiking and camping within an hour drive of the cabin.
The host, Lori, had us stocked up with a ton of firewood, and the cabin had all we needed to cook and have a comfortable time.
Other reviews mention how close this cabin is to the owner's house. While it is right next door, we never saw the owner's after we arrived and got the tour, and were encouraged to not worry about being too loud or staying up too late. We felt like we had just as much privacy as if we had not been right next door to the owners.
The cabin is in the middle of a bunch of dry counties (the owners gave us a heads up on this), so if you are looking to enjoy some drinks, be prepared to either bring it all in, or drive an hour to Hot Springs to restock.
Thanks for the great stay Lori!
