About this property

Luxury home in prime downtown location: views of the Rocky Mountains

We have a beautiful home for you to rent, just minutes from CU & downtown. It's private and quiet, with incredible views of the front range & Boulder. It has a very open floor plan, with 2 bedrooms, a loft and even a beautiful bed from Bali on the deck!

There is a collection of art from around the world, including paintings from Brazil and Cuba, rugs and armoire from Morocco. The kitchen is huge and high end, with stainless steel appliances, travertine floor, cherry cabinets and completely stocked. Beautifully furnished, with tasteful touches like granite counters; walnut trim; a huge redwood deck & hot tub.

Best of all is the view. Huge picture windows and a huge deck open out to a view of the front range from Boulder to Lyons. Toward the back you can see the famous Flatirons of Boulder. The deck features a hot tub, grill, Apricot tree and unique hand carved king size bed from Bali. There's not a better view or location in Boulder. There are no cars or people walking by. The bedding is first class- the best mattresses, goose down comforters, and good cotton sheets. Sheets may be wrinkly because we line dry- but they are environmentally correct! Heating is baseboard hot water, for clean, healthy, quiet heat. In summer we have evaporative cooling which is effective and healthy.

I usually live here, but am often out of town or out of the country. I have an eco-lodge in Africa (amongst other things) so am often gone. The house is fully licensed with the City of Boulder (RHL-0006481) and is zoned for no more than 3 unrelated people- so is perfect for any size family, or a few couples,. I live separately downstairs when I'm in town; there are 4 bedrooms available downstairs that can be booked in addition to this listing ($100/bedroom with bathroom). There is a separate, private entry downstairs, and the upper floor is completely private.

Also- we have some bikes for you to borrow, and a new Intense Tracer 275c to rent for a small daily charge (see photo)!

gorgeous views in funky place!
Loved the place, especially the unique artwork and furniture pieces. Great big room with amazing views! Also beautiful and large kitchen. The one downside is just one small bathroom. Luckily, we only had 3 adults for one night. Would stay here again in the summer to enjoy the outside deck...but it was way too cold this time around! :)

Double booked? Upon arrival, people were already occupying property
My family booked this property months in advance- we were flying in town to attend a wedding and needed a large place to stay. But when we arrived at our check-in time, there were other people at the house. The people said they booked the house for the same days as us. Property owner was not answering the phone and was out of the country- so our family was stuck on the side of the road, car packed with bags just trying to get anyone on the phone. Eventually VRBO call center was able to get us hotel rooms for the night, but we were on our own to find a place for the remaining 3 nights! The property manager Hillary eventually contacted us and tried to help our family find another property- but we ended up finding one on our own since we needed to make arrangements quickly. Luckily another family member covered the cost of the other rental (we were already down thousands of dollars for this original property!) Hillary felt bad, she was helpful and tried her best.. it sounds like the owner double booked the property? I am still waiting for a refund of over $3,000.. I appreciate everything Hillary did, but it was a very stressful situation, lots of angry family, and lots of phone calls. I am unsure how VRBO even allowed this to happen- we even contacted the owner the day before check-in, so this wasn’t a communication failure on our end. Overall, I would be very cautious booking this property.
