Great timberframe home in an excellent location

  • 5 of 5

This home provided wonderful, open space for our extended family and is located on a beautiful lot in the woods. It was well-equipped with everything we needed. We did depend on our 4 wheel drive vehicles to get up and down the road to the house and ended up leaving our front wheel drive cars elsewhere. We fell in love with the enclosed porch and made good use of the pool table as well. Everyone took advantage of the Lutsen Mountain's "opt-out" Black Friday free ski passes and had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this home for family gatherings at any time of the year.

We loved this gorgeous cabin, plenty of room for multiple families, kitchen was well stocked, many nice touches throughout, from movies, games, books to even a hairdryer. Everything you can need they have taken care of. Great place to do some exploring plus Lutsen is just down the road We will definitely be back!!

Great house, family fun!

  • 4 of 5

My family rented this house to spend Thanksgiving together. It was a great house to relax in but also venture outside and explore. It was a relatively warm MN Thanksgiving and there are no shades/blinds on the windows and it got VERY warm when the sun came out- we had to open the doors just to cool off. Other than that it was a great long weekend in a great house!!

Owner's Response: Margoux; Thank you for your review. We will pass your comments on to the owner regarding blinds. Having it too warm from the sun in late November is a good problem since it often times is below zero that time of year. Have a great New Year and thanks for staying with us. Greg

Just as advertised!

  • 5 of 5

The house was beautiful, with lots of common areas for group conversations or private reading. The pool table was a center of activity. We planned on BBQ-ing, but it rained that day - it would have been perfect on that huge deck. The beds were comfortable. We saw a woodchuck (or perhaps it was Bigfoot) near the driveway. Highly recommended place!

Owner's Response: Dwight; Thank you for your review of the Summit Retreat. We're glad to hear that the house fit your group well. That was our friendly woodchuck. Sorry, no bigfoot. Greg Lutsen Lodges

Just what we needed

  • 5 of 5

Our family takes a trip up to the north shore every year and this is the first time we decided to check out Summit Retreat. The location is perfect - so close to the places we like to hit each year. There were 10 of our family that stayed at Summit and it was so great to be able to have ample room for everyone, two double bunk beds for my 4 kids, a great kitchen to cook in and save money rather than constantly eating out, played some pool and relaxed a bit when it rained. 5 stars for the kid-friendly amenities (child gate, baby monitor, etc.). We'll definitely be back - as you can see in the pictures - it is a beautiful place.

A real Gem!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at the Summit Retreat with a large family group for 3 nights. Having never spent time on Lake Superior we did not know what to expect. The Lodge itself was beautiful and easy to find. We were 12 adults and 3 children under the age of 1. There was plenty of room for everyone without feeling cramped. The amenities were clean and well stocked. There is plenty to do within a 30 minute radius. The owner and property manager were also very hospitable. Highly recommend it
