Charming property

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the barn for one week in June and loved it, it certainly isn't the Ritz but it has charm beyond compare. The barn itself is spacious, very well equipped and in a great quiet location. Our hosts Dilys and Peter were very attentive but not intrusive. It was one of the most unique places that we have stayed and would certainly not hesitate to return. Dilys and Peter, thanks for everything.

A lovely outer cape experience!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I loved our one-week stay in the barn on Longnook Farm.

The premises were beautiful. There's something cool about staying on an organic farm. We had loads of veggies at the end of our driveway. The property is a short bike ride away from Longnook Beach (and Ballston Beach, if you know the back roads), and about 15 minutes away from Provincetown if one wishes to partake in that craziness. You can always retreat to the peace and quiet of Longnook Road.

The barn itself was rustic and quirky, but it was very well maintained and had tons of style (and surprisingly fast high-speed internet).

Dilys and Peter were warm and wonderful hosts and were full of useful information about the area that only locals would know. Perhaps next year, we'll get to that whale watch!

Cape Cod the way I remember it!

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for central-air, flat-screen TV's, a Jacuzzi and nightlife, stay at home! If you're looking for a place to boil-up some lobsters, curl up with a good book and be content with the sounds of chirping birds and crickets, The Barn is the place for you. It's clean, cheery, simple and has great character. Most of my Summers have been spent in Truro, as a boy, and then with my children, fishing from its beaches, swimming in the Ocean, Bay and Kettle Ponds, wandering aimlessly at low-tide and riding my bike. The Barn is located on one of the most beautiful roads you'll ever see, leading to one of the most exquisite beaches in the world. And, if by chance, you get the need for some "nightlife," Provincetown is a fifteen minute drive.

Really special place!

  • 5 of 5

My family has rented the Barn these last 5 years. We love the energy of the space. The light, the hammock, the deck where we entertain and cook out. It is a bonus to have the best local organic vegetables just down below waiting for you. It is also the very best location if you are like me and want to run down to the ocean first thing in the morning. The Wifi is excellent and the loft doesn't get too hot because of the exit fan. It is a wonderful Cape rental.

Great spot for a young family's beach vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful stay at the barn. We took a one week vacation with our 6 and 8 year old daughters. The accommodations were just perfect for the kids. It has an old English garden cottage feel. We slept up in the loft while the kids slept on the daybeds. The first floor is all open which was a big plus for our family. The inside is rustic, but very cozy and comfortable.

Other amenities include a deck with a grill. The outdoor shower was a lot of fun. We never showered inside. In addition, the girls loved the hammock. A plus is the farm stand at the end of the driveway. We ate fresh salads every night. Internet did not come in very well in the barn, but just outside by the outdoor shower it came in. This worked well for us. We'd look up things to do or places to go, but weren't constantly checking. So this was a plus for us.

The barn is a mile and a half from Longnook beach. Longnook is beautiful, but the water is colder and the waves bigger. We headed to Corn Hill beach on the bay side. That was perfect for our kids, and also gorgeous with views of Provincetown. We had bought a week parking pass for Truro beaches for $60. It's a worthy investment for a family. There are a number of Truro beaches. Additionally, we headed to Provincetown a few times during the week. That was just a quick drive up route 6.

Overall, the barn made for a great spot for our family vacation. We plan on returning!

Sweet, funky barn. Perfect location

  • 4 of 5

The ambiance at the barn is perfect for a beach vacation. Very comfortable and lovely, clean and well maintained. The owners were available if needed and offered suggestions for great places to eat.

The barn is 1.5 miles from our favorite Truro beach. We were able to hike from the barn through some of the nicest forest trails on the Cape. The barn is close to our favorite bike rides and to our favorite places to kayak.

The one draw back-which is also, ironically, one of the pluses, is that it is on a working farm. Some of the noise from the tractor got in the way of enjoying morning coffee on the deck. However, this drawback was totally offset by the location, price setting and the barn itself.

We both highly recommend staying here.

Owner's Response: Dear April and Alan, Thank you for taking the time to review and recommend our barn. Sorry about the tractor noise! Dilys and Peter Since this review we have established a tractor noise curfew ( which is used across the street) in the morning to accommodate our guests.
