Great Space For A Large Family

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay at your place. We had everything we needed. It was very clean, comfortable beds, beautiful spot and close to the mountain. The kids loved it and we loved that we could sit on the deck see the beautiful view and keep an eye on the kids while they played in the little streams across the way. We would definitely book again.

Great Place

We enjoyed our stay at Jay Peak. The house was equipped with everything one would desire. The property is well maintained and only 5 minutes from the ski mountain. We would stay there again.

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed this past weekend with 2 other families for a hockey tournament at Jay Peak. House was less then 5 miles from the rink. The house was very clean and spacious to hold all 10 of us. The beds were very comfortable! I would highly recommend staying here!

Overall good - with a caveat

  • 4 of 5

Overall, the property accommodated 10 people comfortably, and it's close to the mountain which is a huge plus. There's enough living space for people to spread out, and the large mud room in the basement is great for storing all kinds of ski gear. Pricing was also really on point compared to the exorbitant prices for less space at Jay.

Not so greats:

-Landlord was super responsive prior to the booking, but took significant time to respond once we had an issue with the unit. Also, no contact numbers were included at the unit for in area maintenance or services (see driveway issues below).

-No sanding of the driveway. Though expressly stated in our rental agreement that the unit would be cleaned and the driveway sanded, the driveway had no attention paid to it the entire time we were there (which unfortunately, came after a significant period of cold rain/icing). We had multiple cars unable to get up the driveway until a kind neighbor came and dropped ash for us. There is also no sand/ice melt left at the unit.

Overall, would I stay there again? Yes, because I have snow tires on my car. Would pretty much everyone else who stayed with me? No. I generally advocate that folks be prepared if they're going to attempt Jay/Montgomery roads in winter, however, it was a little frustrating that the rental agreement stated one thing and what happened was another.

Owner's Response: First off thank you very much for the stay. I am so glad the experience was a good one overall but regret the driveway issue you note above. As previously stated we pay a great deal to have our driveway and common roads cleared in the winter. Rural Vermont being rural Vermont - severe weather and correspondingly variable response times do unfortunately occur. Our maintenance service people have been informed of the matter. For the record - contact numbers are always provided to all guests and nobody has ever noted an issue of that variety. I personally pride myself on my responsiveness to each and every guest. Nonetheless I will make a concerted effort to provide my phone number in the body of my emails to guests. Currently, it is in the signature section - perhaps that is why you did not see it.
