Butler Manor Carriage House is a self-sufficient apartment surrounded by gardens, on an estate. This one-bedroom/one-bath cottage is a premier example of Elizabethan English Tudor architecture with approx 840 square feet living space. It is 15 minutes to Alta, Snowbird, Solitude, and Brighton ski mountains -- 30 minutest o Park City, Canyons, and Deer Valley , 45 minutes to SUNDANCE. And Just 15 miles to downtown SLC. The cottage is surrounded by a half-acre English garden with a fruit orchard and a 360-degree panoramic view of Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Mountains.

The home is within 1/4 mile of Cottonwood Recreation Center, where you can enjoy indoor and outdoor swimming pools, ice skating, racquetball, a fitness center, classes of all kinds and many more fun things to do. It's also within walking distance of ski rentals, a grocery store, drugstores, and several restaurants.

Please note that the loft bedroom with queen-sized bed is accessible by pull-down attic-like stairs and the living room has a pullout couch with a double bed. The outdoor hottub on the property is shared, though you will probably have it to yourselves; bathing suits are required. Finally there are two very sweet dogs on the property which belong to the main house and share the yard. If we have agreed to a dog prior to your arrival, he or she will need a leash and we do require that you clean up after him/her.

It does'nt get any classier

This really is a beautiful space. It looks down on SLC, the furniture is very nice and in good condition. The tile job in the bathroom is over the top. Nice fluffy towels and fine linens on the bed. The kitchen was well equipped and everything was in good working order. Easy access to laundry makes this ideal for longer stays. Nice deck furniture and a weber grill make a great place for some outdoor cooking. Access to either canyon roads is a piece of cake.

It is certainly not hidden, but the bedroom is in a loft, and it means a 9 foot climb up a ladder, so be aware of that. The loft area is a bit cramped due to the way to roof cuts into this space.

Perfect location

The location of the property is perfect; everything is nearby. The carriage house was delightful. I do need to read descriptions better since I did not realize the loft was only access full via ladder. We had the dog with us so the loft was a no go. We were fine downstairs. My only critic would be in all other Homeaway rentals there was always soap and shampoo available. I always bring my own but if one were not prepared you would have to go out to pick some up. We would definely come back. Our dog Allie enjoyed the grounds.

Great vacation

I hate to I’ve a great rating due to everyone wanting to stay and our not being able to book next year. Nifty floor plan even for a couple of 50+ folks. So close to everything, all four slopes were just a hop away. We’ll be back if it’s available.

Without a doubt my best VRBO experience so far...When you combine an excellent living space with a beautiful and friendly neighborhood, you just can't go wrong....The Butler Loft has everything you need for an extended stay, and the surrounding property is so quiet and peaceful...Cottonwood Heights is one of the friendliest and safest neighborhoods in all of Salt Lake City and I will definitely be back....2 thumbs way up!!
