About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 9)

There is nothing quite like a blue ribbon trout river just outside your front door. The cabin is positioned along the west side of the Yellowstone River. This is a great place to stay when touring Yellowstone National Park. The Gardiner North Entrance (4 miles away) is the only year round entry into the most visited National Park in the United States.

Within a ten minute drive you will arrive in Mammoth Hot Springs and see for yourself all the wonders Yellowstone Park has to offer.

The cabin features a full kitchen with all dishes and utensils provided. Both Master Suites have 1 queen and 1 oversized full bed, also each suite has its own full bath. Just outside the spacious patio you will find a large fire pit with plenty of seating for all your friends and family. You will love the stunning views and relaxing atmosphere we have to offer.

About Marty Haskins

My name is Marty Haskins. In the picture is my father-in-law Frank Kroll. We purchased the cabin in November of 2005 along with my wife Kelly and Frank's wife Debbie. We bought the property thinking of how great it would be to have a 'getaway' that is riverfront, park-front, and forest service-front. We have been blessed to find out the demand for housing near Yellowstone Park. We only thought we would rent out about 6 weeks a year and now are renting the whole summer. We spend a lot of time at the cabin in the spring and fall. The picture you see is the fire pit about 10 yards from our back door. As you can see I like a big campfire.

Why Marty Haskins chose Yellowstone

Gardiner is a very special place in Montana and it just happens to be the only year round entrance into the park. This location is ideal for a vacation in the Park. For me it is ideal for fishing the mighty Yellowstone River. I have been vacationing in Yellowstone since I was a young boy. I grew up in rural North Dakota and had an Aunt and Uncle who lived in Billings, MT. They had two boys my age so my brother and I would come to Montana in the summer for two weeks and they would take us to the Park. Thanks to my Aunt and Uncle I now live in Bozeman, I met my beautiful wife in Billings and I now own a cabin bordering Yellowstone Park.

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin is surrounded by National Park Land, Forest Service Land, and the Yellowstone River. Best of all it is only 300 yards from the park, yet 4 miles from the entrance and the town of Gardiner. You get a secluded base camp from the park that is only minutes away. Our favorite thing to do is sit around the campfire at night while Debbie makes peach cobbler in the dutch oven.

Excellent lodging and owners!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week at this cabin and found it to be perfect. The owners are very nice, communicated quickly and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The two rooms are great, each with it's own bathroom, so there was plenty of privacy for two couples. It is well-stocked with absolutely anything you would find in your home and the location is beautiful on the river. We had elk and deer right outside our window every day. It's 5 minutes to the park entrance so it has the perfect combination of quiet location and access to the park or town. We also found Gardiner much less "touristy" than the West entrance area. We will definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it!

This was our first time to Yellowstone the view was unbelievable the cabin was spectacular we couldn't of asked for a better property. I just want to thank Marty from the bottom of my heart for allowing us to rent this cabin and for lots of fabulous memories. We saw a herd of elk every day along with pronghorn deer right by the cabin. The weather was fantastic we attempted to do a little fishing am just such a close proximity to Yellowstone would definitely recommend this cabin to anybody.

Great family Cabin on the Yellowstone River.

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 9 stayed for a week in this beautiful cabin. It has everything you need to have a wonderful time in Yellowstone. There were plenty of towels and bedding to accommodate all of us. Beautifully decorated, tv in every room. We have stayed in four of the cabins in this complex and like this one the best. Built a big fire every night and enjoyed the moon over the river. Recommend this cabin for anyone. We will be back next year!

Idaho Falls

Accommodations fine; weather not so much

  • 4 of 5

Third week in May 2017 was just in time for a "snow event" in the northern part of Yellowstone, and the roads were closed further south so we couldn't get down to Jackson today. That's OK ... we went to Bozeman for breakfast and came down through West Yellowstone to home in Idaho Falls. The cabin was cozy and just what we needed for ourselves and our adult son. Didn't know we would be responsible for driving our small trash bag four miles to dump it at the end of the rental, however, especially since we were paying $100 for cleaning. And the four miles is on an unpaved road, so be aware of that before you rent.

Owner's Response: Thanks Linda! This review is actually great. It gives a better idea of how close yet remote we are in proximity to Yellowstone Park. We realize this place isn't for everyone. The reason we love it here is because a 15 minute drive on a gravel road gets you away from the crowds each day in Yellowstone. Some years the winter and spring weather make the road very difficult, but it's only 15 minutes. Because we are "remote" there is no garbage service. It's not because we don't want to pay for it. It's because the service does not exist. Everyone that lives there has to take their garbage to the collection bin, which is 4 miles away. For most of my guests it is on your way out. When we go to the cabin we burn all our paper and cardboard trash in the firepit to reduce garbage. I guess it's the price you pay for living off the beaten path. I hope this helps and I hope you continue to read the other reviews (99% are good) Marty

Perfect Spot for Yellowstone

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed here for our first trip to Yellowstone and we could not have picked a better location. The cabin is right on the Yellowstone River and we had wildlife in our backyard every night. The cabin had plenty of room for a party of 6 and really felt like a home away from home. When we get back to Yellowstone, we will definitely be staying here again! Thanks for everything Marty!
