Norse Point is the Ultimate Honeymoon Hideaway. It is a secluded 1-bedroom villa situated on the Waters' Edge of the most magnificent ocean bay we are aware of on the planet (San San Bay). The living room provides sleeping accommodation and a half bathroom for two additional persons in the form of two single beds that double as couches during the day.
Relax in crystal clear water and a magnificent ocean bay protected by a continuous coral reef. The famous 'Pellew Island' is untouched and is located directly opposite Norse Point and presents itself as being your private island.

Susan and Alex Dougall are Jamaicans who grew up vacationing with their families on San San Bay. Their dream to own their own San San holiday home became reality in 2008 when they were presented with the opportunity to purchase the only home on the bay that is both secluded and directly opposite the magnificent 'Pellew Island'. It was a dream come true for us and our four children. No one has been able to tell us of another ocean side spot on the planet that compares to Norse Point.
The Owner purchased this villa in 2008
We bought Norse Point because of its unique combination of features - located in the lush parish of Portand offering a backdrop of mountains, rivers and magnificent rainforest - water that is several degrees warmer than tropical holiday locations to our north - a calm bay protected by a magnificent coral reef - and its location directly opposite 'Pellew Island'. We pinch ourselves every day wondering whether it is a dream or reality that that we were fortunate enough to buy this property. We get endless pleasure from our frequent weekends at Norse Point which was our motivation to make this purchase.
We know of nowhere else that has such a beautiful untouched coral sand island, two swimming minutes away from a holiday home seaside deck, separated only by crystal clear water and protected by a magnificent coral reef.
We had a wonderful stay for 7 nights-- Easily --could have stayed another week. Verona was exceptional, sweet and an incrediable cook. Can't wait to visit again. Also enjoyed -Wayne --at Attraction Links- for our daily adventures.
L & R
This is our third time to stay here. Friday is looming and it makes me sad. So, to cheer myself up I booked next year...the usual two weeks. If that's not testimony to the fabulous Verona, the wonderful owner Alex, and the fantastic Norse Point property, I don't know what is!
My husband and I had the most remarkable stay at Norse Point for our 45th Anniversary. What a beautiful little home tucked into the side of the mountain directly connected to the sea - bringing the sea and the mountain together in a little slice of paradise. The bed was large and comfortable and everything was bright and clean and beautifully painted in tropical colors with interesting works of art on the walls. They have a great book collection, one of the best showers with high pressure and lots of hot water, and the entire side of the house opens up in the morning to the sound of the sea. The kitchen is well stocked and the washer and dryer was a must. We used the kayaks every day to journey to the Blue Lagoon, the little sand beach across the bay, and San San Beach where we could have lunch every day. Lance, Andre', and Verona were there when we needed them - and they helped us become integrated into the lovely and kind and caring culture. Beautiful people, cozy and comfortable home, blue clear and clean ocean where you can see to the bottom and watch the fish, an outside deck for sunning and reading - and the food is healthy - delicious - and locally grown. We had Andre' as our driver and he took us everywhere - so we did not have to worry about driving. We will be back next year and the year after and the year after - We have found our paradise away from the New England winters. Thank you Alex and everyone for providing such a glorious place for us to celebrate our long-lasting love!!
We took a chance on Norse Point as our vacation destination with the hope that it would be half as good as the reviews and pictures advertised on the website. Our goal was to stay away from the Americanized style resort and enjoy a down to Earth, REAL Jamaican vacation. Well believe us, Norse Point IS everything we had hoped and more!! We spent the days swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, eating Verona's delicious meals (we left meal planning up to Verona and we are in love with her Jamaican cooking), reading, fishing and worshipping the carribean sun. Verona took us to the market downtown (where we felt safe and secure) to replenish our grocery supply. At the market there are amazing and exotic fresh fruit and veggie selections that we purchased to sample when we returned to the villa. Verona also took us to get jerk chicken and pork. While it was delicious there is no comparison to Verona's cooking! The best advice is to let Verona guide you, ask her anything (she will give you an honest answer), she knows the locals and all the 'ins & outs' of Port Antonio and surrounding areas and she looks out for you! Go out for ice cream and try the Rum Raisin flavor. Talk to locals and enjoy their kindness. Lance the night watchman kept watch over us in the night and is such a kind soul, tell him a joke because he has the best laugh! We are already planning our next trip, next time we will go out more to Fenchmans Cove, float the Rio, search for lobster ( we found out where they hide) and check out The Waterfall. This time we were completely at peace hanging out at Norse Point with one trip to the market. Its true you will not want to leave. You will have to go a second time !
E & D
I posted a picture the first morning of our stay and my friend replied, "It looks just like the pictures!" And, it truly does. Everything was just as I expected from the view to the comfort of the bed to the splendid Verona and Shamoy.
The house is bright, clean and comfortable. As previous reviews mention, Verona is a wonderful hostess. She is warm, kind and funny. She took us to Port Antonio's market for our groceries and Boston Bay to get its famous jerk. She was there when we needed something, but also allowed us privacy. Her cooking was delicious and surpassed anything we ate at restaurants nearby. Shamoy is also a delight and it certainly made us feel comfortable knowing he was keeping watch at night.
The location is great and allows for a good balance of activity and relaxation. Enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, monkey island, san san beach, and the blue lagoon from the back dock or venture out to see Port Antonio, Boston Bay, Reach Falls, and the Rio Grande, which are all within proximity. Look no further and stay here; you will not regret it.
Words are not good enough.
