Great property. Very clean and cute. Well supplied in great location!

  • 5 of 5

This was an awesome cottage in which to spend a weekend in Charlottesville. The property was extremely clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the owner supplied many extras that made it feel like home. The cottage is a short walk to the downtown mall, which has every type of restaurant you can imagine. We ate at Himalayan Fusion one night, had ice cream one day, took in a brewery, and enjoyed the music of several different street musicians. The mall is definitely a fun place to hang out. The cottage does not have a formal kitchen, but we only ate breakfast there, and the owner provided plenty of K-cups and water for the Keurig, as well as fruit, cups, plates, napkins, and utensils. There was a microwave and a small fridge, which was more than sufficient to eat breakfast or make sandwiches for lunch. The linens were very nice - plenty of fresh, soft towels, and the beds were very comfortable. The front porch was the best! Nice furniture with a great afternoon breeze, and a good place to eat breakfast too. The owner was very responsive to messages! Overall, a great weekend!

Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

This is a great option for those not wanting or needing a kitchen/formal dining. Walkable distance from neighborhood restaurants and close driving proximity to upscale grocery store with microwavable items, etc. Close to downtown and movie theaters. The off-street parking was also a plus.

A very comfortable, well located house.

  • 5 of 5

We had a very enjoyable ten day stay at Boxwood Bungalow. It's very nicely decorated, clean and felt "homely". End of the street / five minutes walk tops, is Belmont corner with several good restaurants catering to different tastes. Ten minutes walk takes you to the pedestrianised mall with a whole range of shops and other restaurants - great for an evening stroll. From the house it's easy enough to get to I64 , and from there it's maybe twenty minutes to get to the entrance point on Skyline Drive / BlueRidge Parkway. Mountains were beautiful, and countryside terrific with friendly vineyards and cider places - lunch at Bold Rock, south on Rt151, recommended. Coffeemaker /fridge worked out fine for us as no intention of cooking when on holiday. On-site Owner was friendly, helpful and responsive , but not so as to be at all obtrusive. A great place to stay and explore Charlottesville / Virginia. The Turners, Hockley, England

Charming & Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

This bungalow was centrally located to many great eateries and gourmet grocery. The owner personally greeted us and offered to assist with anything we needed. She had the bungalow stocked with every amenity imaginable, including a light breakfast (so thoughtful!) It was very quiet and we loved enjoying sitting on the porch in the evening. Great spot--

Why Janice Kavanagh chose Belmont

Charlottesville is a wonderful city which I call home and the Bungalow is ideally located, and easy walk to the city's downtown, shops, restaurants and farmer's market. I love the Belmont neighborhood with many beautiful homes and walk-able to just about everywhere in the city, UVA is approximately 2 miles away.

What makes this bungalow unique

On a quiet residential street, but only minutes by foot to just about everything in the city: restaurants, theatre, shops, trails, historic monuments, UVA and sporting arenas are close by. Monticello Trail that leads you to Monticello is just a five minute drive. Carter's Mountain which is adjacent to Monticello is clearly visible from the front porch of the Bungalow which offers lovely sunrises. You get the best of both worlds, close to the city so you don't even need a car, but you have the benefit of staying on quiet residential street without all the traffic and noise. Large front porch elevated off the street is ideal for relaxing, watching the sunrise and enjoying your morning coffee!
