We are just winding up our stay here in Bali. The villa is wonderful and situated right off the beach. You couldn't ask for a more secluded location. Very quiet. We took advantage of the meal service which is something to consider since the closest big name grocery store is about an hour away. You can buy pop and local snacks at the local shops but that is about all. The villa is located about 100 kms from the airport however with traffic, and really winding roads, it takes about 3 hours to get here. Anna was wonderful setting up all our transportation with a driver and can book anything you need. We chose to simply lounge around the pool. I would not recommend renting a car as the driving is crazy and addresses are difficult to find.
My husband and I are from the US, but currently working and living in India. We needed a break and by the photos and reviews we decided this was it. Well, we were not disappointed! Alex & Anna were delightful and coordinated everything we could have wanted..... other than arranging for us to stay another month! ;-)
We highly recommend staying at the villa ~ it actually exceeded our expectations. Take some of the day trips they recommend to get a feel for the Island. Such a hospitable country. We hope to be back sooner than later!
First of all I appreciated owners quick responses to my e-mails and in answering my questions before arriving. I also liked that both of them were always available during our stay to help us and guide us to the places we should visit. The villa is absolutely beautiful and well designed. It was nice there were items available for us to rent such as snorkel gear and a scooter. The massages were also nice. The staff did a great job in cleaning and cooking for us. The meals were always fresh and delicious! We'll sure recommend this place to our friends!
My wife and I stayed here for 8 days after having read the other reviews. The main reason why we chose Octopusvillasbali is because of its remote location. We wanted to get away from the touristy part of Bali, and really enjoy the island ,and we certainly did.
It exceeded our expectations. Even the drive there from Seminyak was most interesting. We spent one day visiting Ubud,in particular the Monkey Forest and the Bali Bird and Reptile Park Park.
We enjoyed the pool and the sea views. The sea was probably less than 50 meters from the bedroom so that says it all.
Anna and Alex are the perfect hosts. Very in-obtrusive yet most obliging, friendly and informative.
We also enjoyed the daily meal options which were delicious and healthy.
We cannot recommend Octopusvillasvillas highly enough. Do yourself a favour and stay there for several days.
Anna and Alex are the perfect hosts! Discreet yet helpful whenever you need them. Even before we got there, they answered to every single one of my questions (and my e-mails where many!)
The place is really secluded, right at the entrance of a small village. Local people are very friendly and even though they don't speak English they try their best to help. The villa is very clean, the stuff very shy. We had dinner either at the villa or at a local restaurant about 1 km away (English spoken). Food was excellent! There is a hotel next door (don't let that put you off because it is really really quiet!), where someone can eat as well and another one almost opposite the local restaurant. Anna and Alex have a driver who can take you anywhere you wish. We snorkeled every day, the sea was wonderfully warm and the reef beautiful, always something new to discover! The kids loved the swimming pool, they were in it most of the day.
I would like to thank this beautiful couple for providing us the best for our summer holidays! It is really worth visiting!
We are a couple from Singapore and we travel to Bali last 3 years. Usually we stayed in the South, but as it is getting busier and dirtier we decided to go to more untouched part of the island this time. We were really lucky to find this beachfront villa in the quite village. Though all the beaches in Bali are public, the one in front of the villa seemed like private as you can hardly see anyone there. The home reef was fabulous, could not stop admiring it and snorkeled almost every day. We were a little bit concerned that the nearest supermarket was an hour drive, but the food that lovely staff cooked for us was so good, that for the whole period of stay (2 weeks) we really did not feel like cooking ourselves. We were enjoying delicious fresh grilled fish very often, as Alex (the owner of the villas) who lives close by with his family is a fisherman. And by the way he and his lovely wife Anna were always ready to answer our millions of questions as for the sightseeing tours. We went to volcano hiking and rafting, waterfall trekking and treetop adventure, monkey forest and Bird Park and of cause to numerous Balinese temples.
It was a bit sad to go back to Singapore, but we’ll come next year for sure.
