What a place!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was just what it was advertised. Very nice and isolated. It was such a delight to watch the deer and different animals come and go. The lake was good for fishing also! What a relaxing, enjoyable time.

Secluded Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I brought our 3 small children and we all had an amazing time. We were blown away by how secluded the cabin seemed. Gay and Russ did an awesome job setting this up for a very relaxing time. We enjoyed hours of sitting out on the dock fishing, eating dinners in the outdoor gazebo, and sitting by the campfire. The lake was very peaceful and we had a great time kayaking and exploring. The surrounding area was also very quiet with hardly any traffic. We were amazed by how thick the forests in the area were. We were able to witness all types of wildlife and even saw a wolf crossing the road one morning on our way back from the bait shop. We would recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to get away for a while and who isn't concerned about sitting in front of the TV all week.

Peaceful Getaway, Even For Families With Children

  • 5 of 5

We have heard about "cabin life up north," but this was the first time we experienced it for ourselves. We were nervous, but this cabin and location won us over. Even with our three young children, our days were relaxing and full of simple joys. We swam (even early in the season the lake was warm enough), sat on the dock, hiked the path, read, puzzled, played games, made art, cooked meals, sang, watched a movie, and sat around and talked. The surrounding area provided some adventures for our littles when they needed a change of scene, especially the Children's Museum in Grand Rapids. But we simply stayed on-site most of the time, free of obligations and interruptions. Our hosts are well-versed in the art of hospitality. The cabin is well-equipped, charming, cozy, and delightful. This is an ideal place to get away and seek peace.

A breath of fresh air

  • 5 of 5

Our whole family has been gushing about our week at Burrows Lake since we got home last month. Our time there was simply a breath of fresh air for all of us. Our children loved the freedom to run and frolic and fish and splash in the water. The lake bottom is sandy, but firm, and shockingly was still weedless in August! We loved kayaking on the calm still lake, and fishing from the dock (tons of fish of different sizes and types to be caught!). We were thrilled to pick our fill of ripe raspberries and blackberries as we walked the property. But perhaps the very best part was the distraction free, quiet, atmosphere. We were so thrilled to step out of our van upon arrival and listen closely and hear.....nothing!

I know most people want to know the nitty-gritty when they are reading the reviews. I know I am always curious to know if a VRBO is clean and well appointed. This cabin had a beautiful layout, was very clean, and all beds and furniture were very comfortable. There were plenty of towels/dishes/etc and the hosts have thought of just about every detail to make it a very comfortable place to stay. Our favorite place in the house was the dining room with huge windows overlooking the lake--it's the perfect place to savor a cup of coffee in the early morning!

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

We recently visited this cabin for the second time. Our entire family looks forward to kayaking and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The cabin is comfortable and well kept. The lake is quiet and serene. Great place to relax and get away from it all! We will definitely be back a third time!

Great place to recharge

  • 5 of 5

This year was our second stay at the Burrows Lake Cabin and it was delightful. The cabin has everything you need and is very comfortable. Gay and Russ are experienced at vacation rentals and that makes it to much more comfortable to stay there. As children our family owned a cabin just a few miles from Burrows Lake and we so miss the serenity and untamed wilderness this area has to offer. It is like no other place, the lake is clean, sandy and free of leaches and other water bugs so the swimming is endless. Walks are refreshing and full of wildlife and berries. The cabin is on the east side of the lake so plan on walks or fishing in the morning, swimming after the sun warms up, a quiet dinner while enjoying the sunset over the lake and then fireside for some stargazing. That is as good as it gets and this cabin is where it’s at.
