Guestbook comments from the owner

My Review: This cabin is a must enjoy get-away . It has the 3'C's- cozy, comfortable and clean. We sat on the dock and fished, enjoyed the lake and watched a sunset that evening that was splended. (And no mosquitoes!!!)It has more amenities than a hotel room and much more affordable. We would recommend this cabin for a quiet get-away with some rest and relaxation.

I would recommend this cabin for Adventure Seekers, Age 55+,Girls Get-away,Romantic Get-away

Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is comfortable and well maintained. You can canoe, ride a small pontoon boat or paddle boat, swim or fish or just sit on the shore and watch the loons go by. Everything about Peace of Pines is peaceful and comfortable, a truly relaxing get away just a short drive from the cities.

Wonderful and relaxing vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Peace of Pine was delightful. The cabin was quaint and cozy. Just the right size for us. The lake view was lovely and included loons and osprey. We appreciated the little electric pontoon and used it often to get closer to the lake wildlife. There was plenty of firewood for our evening campfire.

Lisa does a great job of thinking of every detail. We had a couple questions during our stay and she was always quick to respond. The cabin was welcoming and I appreciated that it was very neat and clean. We loved the treats she left for us too!

We brought our own drinking/cooking water but the well water was fine for washing.

All in all the cabin met and exceeded our expectations and we had a great time! The little charcoal grill was adequate for grilling. We tend to be grill meisters though and a gas grill would have been an added plus. We knew what it was going there and planned for it.

The lake is quiet and relaxing. Perfect for a get-away!

Owner's Response: I am so happy that you enjoyed the cabin and the beauty of the lake. The wild life is always so much fun to see. The loon calls are particularly amazing to hear. I have to stop what ever I am doing and appreciate their presence. When fall comes the lake will be full again of visitors flying south. We wait for their return next year as we do yours! Thanks again.

Beautiful cabin on the lake with wonderful country charm!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cabin on the lake with wonderful country charm! This is our second visit to this cabin. Lisa does an amazing job making sure the place is clean and all amenities are there. She always follows up and make sure you have everything you need. The fishing was great as always and we love the Solar powered four person pontoon boat. Actually, our largest fish were caught right off the dock behind the cabin. Our last morning we caught a 4 pound, 19 1/2 inch largemouth bass. We would definitely recommend Peace of Pines Cabin For a wonderful getaway!

Peaceful and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Peace of Pine is a quaint little home stocked with anything you can imagine or might have forgotten while traveling to this peaceful location on Devil’s Lake in Minnesota. While we enjoyed our stay here, if you’re looking for seclusion or something off of the beaten path, this is not for you as there are close to twenty homes nestled in the trees along the banks of this 50+ acre lake. The nearest are approximately twenty feet on either side of Peace of Pine cabin. Our stay was during the week so we didn’t see a lot of people, but I’m certain that during the summer months the weekends are quite busy.

The water has a strong iron smell, but Lisa has supplied bottled water for your use and you will take advantage of it along with driving the short distance into town to stock up on a few gallons from the local grocery store for making coffee, brushing teeth, ect.

There had been torrential rains before we arrived and the lake was up significantly. We could not get to the fish house without wading in water; the fire ring was submerged as well as the dock, but we didn’t let the high water stop us! We used the pontoon, canoe, and the paddleboat – life jackets are supplied for your convenience, and later in the week, the water receded and we were able to have a fire. We caught enough black Crappie to enjoy a fish dinner one night!

While we were actually looking for something a little more secluded, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Peace of Pine. Lisa is a fantastic host, and she has thought of everything for your stay at her cabin. She is easy to reach if there are issues, and she responds quickly. You will not be disappointed with your vacation at this relaxing and peaceful Minnesota lake home.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Yes, you are right, seclusion is not a word you will find on the description list. Nearly all the people on this lake live here. Weekends are a lot like any other day when you live on a lake. It remains pretty quiet overall. I am thankful for your understanding with our flooding situation. It was a night mare for many. Business and homes were affected including Peace of Pine..again for the second time in 3 years. Governor Dayton came and assessed the damage to more then a half million dollars. In 2016 the near by resort shut down for more than 2 months. So I have lots to be thankful for and was able to keep it up and running. But it takes guests like you who are willing to jump in and take the ride. I am happy you were still able to enjoy your time here. Thanks again.
