Convenient travel for ND weekend
Great location for my family for traveling to and from South Bend for an ND football game. Beautiful lake view from the back porch. Thank you!
Wonderful lake view and location!
Great instructions and wonderful location. Told where to go for adventures. In for ND game and getting there was a breeze.
Great family vacation
Very good experience
Spacious home in a quiet neighborhood, young children friendly, open loft play area with toys, sturdy bunk beds in one room, well stocked kitchen, nice deck area with adequate furniture overlooking the lake, private small beach on quiet small lake (fyi - as expected, the lake had quite a bit of seaweed), smaller but adequate bedrooms, plenty of beach toys and chairs. We all (4 adults & 4 children - 7 & under) thoroughly enjoyed staying in this home and we hope to stay again.
Downstairs bathroom needs to be redone. Floor to tub height and no hand bar is a slip hazard.
Storage space for clothes is non-existent...closets all locked. Algae bloom really bad and steep access to beach misleading in ad.
I'm so sorry for your bad experience. The bathroom was built per building codes and is not handicapped accessible. We do not list that amenity in our listing. If we decide to upgrade the bathroom in the future, we will certainly look into adding that feature, but for now, the house is only 13 years old and bathroom renovation is not a priority. There is a step in shower on the second floor, if a tub/shower combo is a problem. Some families prefer the combo because of it's ease in bathing children. It is necessary to lock some closets for owner and cleaning service use and supplies, but not all are locked and every room has a large dresser for clothing storage. I will add pictures of those after next weekend when I go up. Every year, depending on temperature and lake activity, the weed and vegetation population changes. Nothing we do as homeowners can prevent growth, but we are very active with mechanical removal. Before most check ins, we will rake the beach of weeds that may have blown in and we leave the lake rake there for your use. The lake is not very busy, with only a few motor boats using the water, but those can also cause floating weeds to wash onto the beach. Algae blooms have not been an issue on Dayton Lake that I am aware of. I'm wondering if you are referring to plant like weeds in general in your review as algal blooms are very different, and as I mentioned, not a known problem on Dayton Lake. The pictures shown on the site are true and very recent. The front of the house clearly shows a gradual slope to the water, as can be seen by the sledding child. I do not try to mislead anyone and am honest in my description and details given of the property and house.
