The Grizzly is a newer, but rustic style log cabin with all the comforts of home. The warmth of this two level, loft style cabin is ideal for quiet separation with one bedroom in the loft area and two on the main level. Loft bedroom has a queen, twin and a queen futon for extra guests. Downstairs bedrooms: 1 has a queen, Bedroom 2 has a queen and a double. 2 full baths, 8 people max.

Goose Down Ranch is located 5 miles from Dillon Montana, 1.5 hours from Bozeman, Idaho Falls, Jackson Hole WY, or 1 hour from Butte, Virginia City or Ennis MT.

The Beaverhead River, the Madison, The Big Hole River, the Jefferson and the Clark Canyon Dam are all within a reasonable jaunt, to fish for the day, return to a great, clean comfy cabin. We have tons of great hiking trails close by, you can raft, float, wade or swim. Southwest Montana is home to a host of historic and other fun activities as well.

Beaverhead County is the largest county in Montana and includes a broad range of scenic and geologic diversity. From the high mountain meadows and sub alpine peaks to expansive basins, Beaverhead County offers a rich natural and human history to visitors and residents alike.

The 1,000-square-foot cabin, built in 2002, is a story and a half, including a loft. Entry through either the front or back door is onto a combined living room, dining area and fully equipped kitchen with a cozy gas fireplace in the front corner.

Large windows across the west side of this room allow a view of the pasture and the mountains of the Ruby Range. Out the sliding glass door and kitchen window the view of the Blacktail mountain range will wow you! Many deer are often your guests running by in the morning or evening hours.

The rest of the ground floor is occupied by 2 bedrooms, equipped with queen bed in 1 and a queen and twin in the other, and 2 full bathrooms also, a full size washer and dryer.

There are a variety of activities available to cabin guests. Guests can fish the mile and a half away on the Beaverhead River, or the famed Poindexter Slough, 2 public fishing access are only a minute away.

There are a wide variety of hiking opportunities. Guests can find easy day trips or even more adventurous, the mountain lakes in the Pioneers are beautiful to explore. Bring along your fishing rod to catch the plump Rainbow and cutthroat trout that inhabit the lakes, and bring your camera to capture the spectacular mountain views, including local wildlife, moose, deer and the occasional mountain goat.

For those interested in what's available in town, we are just 5 minutes from Dillon, good restaurants, a new local micro Brewery, the Patagonia outlet and many other great options such as coffee shops or antique stores. Dillon is also home to University of Montana, Western.
