We're a family of four (2 girls ages 8 and 5). We live in the Los Angeles area. I work in finance and my wife is an attorney at law. Our interests include architecture and design, travel, food and wine, books, film, history and culture.
Why Ryad chose Cathedral City
We fell in love with the Palm Springs area many years ago. This led us to buy a secondary home in the California desert. Dar Sabrina was a total gut remodel. We finished the house update in the fall of 2006. Most furnishings were custom made to our taste and reflect our love of modern and minimalist design and appreciation for unique, handcrafted furniture and accessories from all over the world. Dar means house in Moroccan. Our first daughter Sabrina was born the same year we began the house remodel. Dar Sabrina means Sabrina’s House.
What makes this House unique
As you drive into the Coachella valley, leaving behind the smog and frenetic pace of Los Angeles, something magical happens. Time slows down. The sunlight gets more vibrant and the sky turns several shades brighter and bluer. All the colors around you become more vivid. The magnificent backdrop of mountains, palm trees and desert vistas takes you in. You feel the soothing and warm air on your skin and in your lungs. You feel peace. You don’t want to leave....ever. Dar Sabrina is our little oasis, our piece of the desert with its sheltering sky and starry nights. It is now midnight. Time to go for a dip in the pool.

Amazing home and swimming pool
We had a family vacation at Dar Sabrina and it was amazing.
Large swimming pool, master bathroom was huge and so relaxing. Awesome entertaining center. Furniture and decoration very well assorted.
Some details we didnt expect that made it perfect : lots of toys for my 2-year-old, high amount of towels (super useful when swimming and showering several times a day), large closets, waser/dryer close to the rooms.
To summarize, we felt like home.

Fantastic home with a wonderful pool. Home was sparkling clean upon arrival. Beautiful kitchen well stocked as were the bathrooms. Highly recommend and look forward to staying at Dar Sabrina again in the future.
Great place to stay
We spent a week and enjoyed our stay. You get what you see. Clean house, great pool and location! Good communication with owner. Would definitely consider staying here again for our next vacation. Thank you Ryad!
The home owner ensured that all details for check in and check out were provided in good time. He was very attentive and timely to respond to inquiries from the time we booked right up until we checked out. The home itself is very clean with lots of space. Would certainly look to stay again.
This home was exactly as it was advertised. It was comfortable, well laid out, and everything you need is there. We will definitely return.
Dar Sabrina: a desert blossom that's both lush and elegant
Dar Sabrina is a lovely home that is elegantly furnished and has many amenities that my family enjoyed during the Spring Break week that we stayed there. My 18 year-old son found the couch and recliner were very comfortable in watching March Madness, along with floating on the "Margaritaville" mattress in the pool, and relaxing in the hot tub in the evenings. My 14 year-old son liked the roominess of his bedroom, floating with the pink flamingo, and watching the multi-colored light show of the pool in the evenings. My wife was impressed that all the appliances worked efficiently so that lunches and dinners were easy to orchestrate, and that the backyard was remarkably lush and peaceful with its surrounding vegetation and quiet neighborhood. I was enamored with the sun-and-shade patio and furniture, the sophistication of the Moroccan decor, and the sybaritic indulgence of the five-headed shower in the master bedroom. Such a luxurious sanctuary!
Ryad's home is ideally located in Cathedral City, so it is easy to drive to both Palm Springs and Palm Desert for day outings. There are good stores and restaurants that are just minutes away from the house, and almost all of the little necessities have already been take care of before you arrive. It always seems cool in the home, but it was convenient that the fans and thermostat were easy to adjust to accommodate our preferences throughout the day. We were completely content to spend our week within the oasis of Dar Sabrina and we are already anticipating coming back on our next Spring Break. Thank you, Ryad, for a desert experience that was as lovely as the blossoms on your lemon tree.
