Why Matthew Clark chose Asheville

We purchased this property from our neighbors in 2000. The views were quite inspiring! We considered a long-term rental but then realized we needed to do a gut-renovation. We started in late 2005 and finished the renovation in 2007.We have been renting the Suite as a short-term vacation rental ever since. Our home is also on the property but you will never see us unless you want to. We are usually "around" should you need any assistance. Your complete privacy, however, is assured.

What makes this cottage unique

The Suite is very convenient to downtown Asheville and The Blue Ridge Parkway. And the view? Unbelievable!

Beautiful and peaceful retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Visited for a weekend get away and this is exactly what we needed! It was private and the owner is wonderful to deal with! The cottage is minutes away from anything you want to do! We will definitely stay here when we come back.

Close to downtown but with the best view

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay in the suite. Adorable, very clean, comfortable, spectacular view from the main room and the deck. About a 15 minute Uber ride to all the good stuff downtown. Our hosts were great to work with and easy to reach when we wanted to. They stocked the suite with some breakfast items which was very much appreciated. Wonderful stay overall. We would love to come back.

Great location and a wonderful view

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at Bittersweet Suite and we hope to return again. It is very convenient to downtown Asheville but is quiet and secluded on Elk Mountain with a fabulous view, a wonderful deck and every amenity one could wish for. Even if it rains, there is a big picture window in the living area and a fireplace. The bed is very comfortable and breakfast items for the first morning are even provided. Truly a great getaway location!

Amazing views, great mix of relaxation and easy access to downtown Asheville

  • 5 of 5

Great little place with amazing views of the mountains and downtown Asheville. Short drive to downtown or to blue ridge parkway. Best of both worlds and exactly what we were hoping for in a weekend getaway. Matt is a great host and had some excellent recommendations for restaurants and points of interest

The View & The Suite

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent three days in this lovely getaway suite the first week of April. Even though the weather was especially cold for early spring, we enjoyed our time in this cozy suite. The fireplace was great on a cold night. The view was as good as advertised and the suite itself was even better than we expected. It had every amenity that we needed for a great stay and even juice and muffins. We'd definitely stay there again.

Perfect place for an Asheville get-away

  • 5 of 5

The suite was immaculate, and had beautiful views (as advertised). Matt made sure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. It's an easy drive into Asheville or up to the Blue Ridge Parkway, where one has access to lots of great hikes. We would definitely return here. Thanks for everything!
